Integration of OpManager (8051 with Service Desk Plus (7604)
Hi we have an issue where I cannot get Opmanager to cleanly integrate with Service Desk Plus. Under Add-On/Products Settings, I enter the appropriate details and test the connection. The result is 'Successfully tested and added the ServiceDesk Plus server details' Under Notification Profiles, when I attempt to configure a profile and select the appropriate Category, Priority or Technician, the drop down selection lists are empty (default option of 'Choose a Value' is listed.) Network Layer 2 discovery on latest OPManager release
Hi, I installed the latest 8720 release. I added several switches and routers that are connected eachother. I selected one layer3 device but I can see only one switch connected to this device. How the Layer 2/3 discovery works? What I need to configure on the devices? What are the vendor currently supported? What if I have Cisco devices separated by a Juniper firewall (let's say)? Thanks in advance for your support. Roberto D.

Syslogs
Hi, We have a SSL-VPN device which can send syslogs to Opmanager. When an user logs into the device, Opmanager is receiving the syslog and the whole message is displayed (see attachments). The only thing that I want to know is the user and the action (which is in the message). For example (see also the attachments); user = admin msg = User login successful Is is possible to display only that information instead of the whole message?? This also applies for users who logged out. Regards Dennis Panman

OpManager for SNMP Traps and Alerts
Hi there, I am looking to use OpManager to mainly receive in SNMP traps. We install networking equipment (no more than 2-4 devices) on our clients networks and want to set them up to send SNMP traps to OpManager. We have not direct access to the devices as they are on our clients networks (behind Firewall NAT etc) We have the Traps coming into our hosted server and have tested that the SNMP traps come in ok (Not Using OpManager) We want to use OpManager to process these traps and generate
Where is my device?
I manually added 2 access points and it says the device is added but I don't see it anywhere. There is no additional devices in any group and when I do a device search it doesn't come up. I have confirmed a snmp walk works without any problems. The devices in question are 3com 7760 access points. Has anyone else seen this? Thanks!
Receiving Traps
I am receiving traps from another server. This server is sending or forwarding traps for the servers that have issues. My problem is that the traps I am recieving show up as alarms for the forwarding server, and not the server with the issue. The trap looks like this. .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0: TimeTicks: 247 days, 22 hours, 19 minutes, 1 seconds.: .1.3.6.1.6.3.1.1.4.1.0: Object ID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.2120.0.1.1: .1.3.6.1.4.1.2120.0.2.0: *IP address of server with issue*: .1.3.6.1.4.1.2120.0.2.1: 7cd0a48e3a61310bbdf5b402f93607bd:

No Data Gathered After Joining OpManager in Active Directory
Hi, Would like to refer problem encountered in OpManager. While OpManager is not yet joined in Active Directory it can still gather data for CPU, Disk, Memory utilization but once we joined it in Active Directory it can no longer gather data from the servers. What might be the cause of this and how can we resolve this problem? Thanks in advance.
Oops looks like a few tables got corrupted
After spending hours setting up op manager and importing all devices, it works ok for a day or so and then get the following error when trying to log in Oops looks like a few tables got corrupted. Don't worry.. Run RepairDB.bat from bin directory and restart the server when we run repairdb.bat it says it finds problems and fixes them. IBM Server Monitoring

BUG: Changing IP of existing device does not update monitors
BUG: Service monitors (TCP port checks) do NOT get updated properly when you change a device's IP after the device has been added to OM8. I confirmed this two ways: 1. The original device I scanned (1.2.3.4) was pingable and had 21,80,443,3389 open 2. The device IP I changed to (1.2.3.5) after the fact only has port 25 and 80 open, yet the monitors still show port 21, 443, 3389 as "available" and up. 3. I checked the MySQL DB, and in the table opmanagerdb.managedobject, the entries under NAME and
BUG: Adding device fails when device is not ping'able
When I attempt to add a device in OM8 and that device is not ping'able (but some TCP ports are open, e.g. 25, 80, etc) the add fails. This is a serious problem for us as we have hundreds of devices that are not pingable but do have open TCP ports that we need to monitor. I've seen this issue brought up before in the forum, and a "workaround" was promised for a future version of OM, but I do not see it in OM8. These devices are behind multiple firewalls in our facility, so simply enabling ping/ICMP
Problem with OpManager seeing my modem/mobile phone.
The modem/phone I had connected to our system was working fine up until this morning. It is a Sony Ericsson W800i connected via a USB cable. I installed the latest patch (8720) and restarted the server and now the modem is just coming up as disconnected. I have uninstalled the modem several times and tried everything I can think of, but OpManager refuses to see the modem. The windows server sees it fine in device manager. I'd appreciate some suggestions from the experts :-) Many thanks, Alan.
Exportable / importable device templates
A few years ago OpManager was supposed to be getting the ability to export / import custom device templates. This feature would allow the community to share templates for devices rather than have to figure them all out "by hand". What ever happened to this feature?
OpManager 8720 - Problems with VMWare ESxi4
Hello, yesterday we did an update to Build 8720 (thanks for that service pack). But we have still the issue that we can not monitor VMWare Esxi4 Servers. If I add the VMWare Server it is always detected as Unknown/Unknown/Unknown (snmp is enabled on the VMWare Server and OpManager credential check responds SNMP passed). If I change the type to VMWare ESX Server (which is the only ESX type in the dropdown list), OpManager does not see any Virtual machines. Could it be that the service pack did not

opmanager 8720 not sending email

Backup/Restore of OpManager 8022 clears the check for alarm clear notifications
We recently moved OpManager build 8022 from one server to another. The backup/restore procedure copied everything over, except the check for "notify when the alarm is cleared". All of our alerts should send clears, but I don't see any way to reset this other than to go into each device, go into each notification profile for that device, and check the box. For 150 devices, with between 3 and 5 notifications each, this is a week-long project. Is there a way to check this for everything, through a

Rediscovery problem + Availability report error
I got three problems with OpManager: 1) I've got a bunch of switches where clicking "rediscovery" doesn't do anynthing. The interfaces are simply not added to the device. 2) I've read about a working solution that should by available in the customer portal, but I don't have a login there (besides having bought OpManager). 3) My reports and dial graphs doesn't show availability information - the only say that the device is not being monitored. Could someone help me?
Web Client
I am trying to use the OpManager 8 trial version but when I start the web client, it opens a blank IE window. How can I resolve this so I can start evaluating the trial.
Proxy master flag being ignored?
Hi All, I'm having a problem with OpManager where, we used to use a Proxy Server but have discontinued use. We've changed the default gateway on the OpManager server from the Proxy Server to our new (non-proxy) gateway box. However, all our external URL monitors are now failing. I went into the Admin module and unticked the "Enable Proxy" flag and tested the external URLs again and am still getting "The URL http://www.chemalert.com.au/ is down, Reason : Host Unavailable". Yet I'm able to log onto

Need old URL monitor reports
I updated this morning to the newest version of ManageEngine. Now I need to be able to get the old URL monitor reports for one of my URL's but since the update required me to uninstall the old to install the new I don't see how I can get those old reports. Is there a way to get those old URL availibility statistics or reports? I'm in dire need of help on this. Thanks, Stressed

"virtual devices"
Hallo, I just upgraded to version 8.72 and want to use the new "virtual devices" feature. I already added our ESX3.5 servers to OpManager while still using 8.5. They were listed under servers. I now moved one of them to the category "virtual devices". But the host and the VMs don't show up there. I also can't add them there, as they are already in the system. What is the correct way to move them? Thanks Robert
