Domain Controller as virtual device
Hello, Running 8720. We have a number of 2003 Domain Controllers that are virtual machines and I am unable to change their Category from "Virtual Devices" to "Domain Controller" as the option is not available. Please see attached. Thanks.
device template list does not show all devices
Unable to view all device templates, eg when clicking on C to search for “Cisco Catalyst 3650” the list stops at “Cisco Aitonet1242AG”. The page size is set to 500 and claims to be showing 1 to 233 items (see attached image) but the list contains only 100 items.
Multiple entrys of same servers in Business View - List
Hi, we've got some problems with displaying one of our business view lists. Some of our servers are displayed more than one time - and every entry is set with another status. Any idea whats the probleme?
Remove all Sql Monitors?
I have a server for which I am unable to get any Sql Monitors to collect data. They all report "No Data." I would like to remove all Monitors, and re-add them. Is there an easy way to do this?
Response Time
Hi, Whenever I ping from OpManager server to any node, first ping response is always 11~15ms. And same is reflecting in OpManager response time. Is there any way that Opmanager will consider the 2nd or 3rd value of ping response so that same value can be reflect in response time? Regards Nilesh
VMWare Host Icon?
Ok so one of my ESX hosts has a yellow exclaimation icon but there are no alerts or anything pointing out what exactly the problem is. Has anyone experienced this and what did you do about it? 2nd question simply revolves around VSphere 4 and distributed vswitches. Can opManager monitor the distributed switches or just the local switches? Is it something that is going to be coming down the line? My distributed switches are pretty important in my infrastructure. upgrade problem network views lost
We have upgraded opmanager from build 8030 to SP7 8720 and hotfix 8721. After the upgrade the map -> network view -> are lost. Only this text is there: No Network has been added. We have tried to rediscover a network but it is not added to the network view. How can we fix this

Network map with Extreme and Juniper
Hi, I installed the latest OPM 8721 for a customer. He has Extreme switches and Cisco Access Point. Is it possible to discover the network topology as the software can do with Cisco? I added an Extreme and one Cisco AP I am sure is connected to the same switch. When I try to configure the Network map it shows an error. Select a greyed out Custom event
In the past I have added a custom event in OP manager. After a while there was no need for this monitoring anymore so I deleted this event in the events screen. Time goes by and now I need to monitor this events again. I see the Event log in my screen but when I select it I get the message "Eventlog file already exists". How can I get this eventlog monitored again? I've added some screenshots
User credentials for local connections
Hi all, I have some windows-devices in my OPManager. I have a special Domain-Admin account that is used for WMI-scanning suing a special Windows credential. When I assign the credentials to a windows server and test it, I get the following erroro message: 80041064 - User credentials cannot be used for local connections. Refer Troubleshooting Tips The Troubleshooting tips state that I want to use the credentials to connect to the server on which OPManager is running. This is definitly NOT the case.
Problem with Opmanager 8052
Hi. I have installed OpManager 8052, premium edition running on a PC with a processor with 2 cores, 4 GB of RAM and Windows 2008 R2 Standard. The database is mysql and contains 980 devices with 4900 interfaces. Scheduled Reports based on Timeframe
Hi, Is there a way to generate scheduled reports (with accompanying automated mailout) that concatenate data based on a specific timeframe? for example - we wish to have a weekly report of server uptime, router uptime, alerts, etc over that 7 day period - but only those that occurred between the hours of 8am and 9pm in that seven day period. Unable to fetch Asset Details from ServiceDeskPlus
Hi Initially I have been using Trial version of ServiceDesk Plus 7 and I uninstalled it from my system. So whenever I try to update "Asset Details" in OPManager, it gives me the following error: Unable to fetch Asset Details from ServiceDeskPlus. When adding server using WMI, 4 monitoring instances show up on our server "map" list form.
I recently turned on our WMI credentials in the opmanager and re-added our servers to receive better performance monitors such as cpu utililzation and memory usage. By doing this, there were 4 instances of the same server in the list. I tried a different server on a different IP and had the same results. If anyone has an idea as to what is going on...please help. Thanks, Justin Rome
SMS Notification Issue

Escalation Alerts not matching alarm catagory.
I am getting escalation alerts are desgined for catagory of "router" when the initial alarm is clearly for "server" via catagory. I have verified that the alarmed object is in the cateagory of "server" and not "router". Where do I go to fix this "mapping" issue as it is broken now. For example I have alarms setup to warn me of performance events in my SQL server. When the alarms are not cleared they are escalalted but are sent out as router escalations and not server esculations. Both the server

Trap parsers?
Is there a way to when you load a mib that it automatically creates trap parsers? Or do you have to manually create every trap parser (beyond the default 20 etc)? If you do have to create them is there a place where we can share trap parser configs we've made? Thanks Brendan

List view CPU and Memory showing no utilization
Hello, Running Opmgr 8721. I created business views by OS. The Opmgr server has been running fine, but I checked it today and now the list view shows as the attached image. Once I restarted the Opmgr service, the list shows utilization once again. There is also 4 days of missing data now, but I did not receive an alarm from Opmanager saying it had lost connection to the database. This server monitors 500 devices and is a virtual machine running server 2003 x64 with 2GB ram and 2 vCPU's. I have
syslog report problem
Hi I have problem with the syslog report. It shows empty syslog viewer show me a fan error and capture event correctly. I also add other syslog rules to be sure that my event are going to be captured but nothing happen in the report. Traffic monitors might not be associated for the Interface
Hi, I have a problem when I add one Cisco device 2800. The SNMP credential it’s OK, but the Opmanager doesn’t collect traffic interface. When I try start Real Time traffic, the software shows the message: “Traffic monitors might not be associated for the Interface. Opmanager Netflow plugin
Hi There, I have a 10 interface licence for opmanager netflow plugin and would like to monitor x2 24 port switches and 1 cisco router. I only want to monitor certain interfaces and not all of them. How can i configure the opmanager netflow plugin to only monitor the certain interfaces on the switches and router so that i am within limits of my 10 interface licence? what does Excess Total committed memory needed violated mean
i just loaded my new sql server and i immediately get this error: Excess Total committed memory needed these are the numbers: Last Polled Value: 4168448 Threshold Alert: 131072 Rearm Value: 65536 what i am trying to figure out is if i have a problem with my sql server or if i need to readjust my threshold. again, this is a new server so i dont have historical data to work with. Networks Map
Hi We are unable to draw network maps from either our core HP 8212 switch or our office HP 5412. I am able to monitor interfaces on those switches, but when trying to draw a network map we only see the switch in our office, and if we select the core switch as our seed device we only see the switch, one of the 10Gb links to our Blades and the wireless controller that is in the chassis. Please see attached screen shots.
OpManager link lines in Business View
What needs to be enabled to have the Link Status changed from the UnManage gray line, to show the Traffic Load between devices? We have multiple firewalls linked via vpn, only one by default shows any load, all other lines are gray. SNMP has been enabled on some of the other firewalls, and nothing special has been enabled on the one that shows the traffic load. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Larger WMI query for MSSQL monitors
We upgraded OpManager from build 8024 to 8052 one week ago. After this Service Pack and Hotfix, we have had several of our MSSQL servers false report that SQL Agent and MSSQL services are down. After searching the event logs on these servers, we have found that the WMI service has crashed and recovered at about the same time that the false reports come through via email notification. Disk utilization shows no data available
Hello, We got problem with monitoring Disk utilization of Linux box. Linux box: [root@xxxxxxxx ~]# uname -srm Linux 2.6.18-164.15.1.el5 x86_64SNMP is running. Discovery - Devices in the specified range are not active
Hi All, I am using a fresh install of OpManager 8 on Linux (eval) to prove the OpManager concept. I can manually add in devices, which is great - however - auto discovery fails on any attempt to scan our /19 subnet either by range or CIDR. The error is:- "Devices in the specified range are not active" There are around 100 servers in the range specified with SNMP enabled. Any ideas why this isnt working?

Exchange Cluster Problems
We have been having some problems with our Exchange Clusters lately. Last week we were not able to get data from the Free Disk Space Performance Monitors (our TLogs disk ended up filling and we were not alerted!). Over the weekend we moved the cluster to the other node (2 node cluster) and can now get Free Disk Space data. However, now all MSExchange Monitors are not updating.
