Firewall not updating as frequently as expected
Hello, I have our firewall setup on OpManager and monitoring the different network interfaces; I have noticed that when there are alerts raised these alerts take approx 1 day to be resolved. When I look at the monitoring data for the interfaces even though it is setup to monitor even 900 seconds it would appear as though it is only logging once a day: 27/03/11 12:18AM 26/03/11 11:48PM 25/03/11 01:48AM 24/03/11 04:33AM 23/03/11 12:18AM Do you have any idea why this might be happening? Unique Alarm IDs for Notifications
This relates to a question I posted yesterday. I am trying to setup SNMP trap alerts from one install of OpManager to another remote install. I am trying to make it automatic for the remote site so as alarms are generated and cleared locally they are generated and cleared remotely. One problem I am having is making sure the alarms generated by the SNMP traps are both unique and able to be tied to their clear message. Is there anyway that in the notification profile I can get a unique alarm ID
How do I get CPU Monitor to list top processes?
I am using CPU monitoring for lots of Windows servers. When the monitor passes the threshhold, some list the top processes, and others don't. How do I make my notification list the top processes that are using CPU when the CPU minot passes the threshhold? I seem to have the same behaviour from Memory monitors. Some servers will show the top processes, and some will not. Thanks, Kevin

Template Issue
So I go through and add a new server. I configure this server EXACTLY how I want it. All seems ok. It took me 30+ minutes to do that. How the heck do I apply all of those changes, to 50 other identical servers without manually doing each one? The "templates" seem to only use service/ports, and isn't helpful at all with the additional folder/performance/URL monitors I added. I'm on a 30 days trial software opmanager build 8723. I have an issue on scheduled Report with 2 error symptom as 1. when i input 2 or email address with comma for separator in format A,B found that when submitted and re-modify the data change to be B,A. 2. found from above the first email address will be discard from email TO address.

Interface utilization is not showing up correctly in dashboard views
From the dashboard summary page the receive % on all interfaces is showing up as the interface speed.
Windows Services down - ******ALERTS NOT SENT*******
Hello, I was running Opmgr 8723. We do not get alerts for Windows services that crash anymore. I have opened up a case and uninstalled 8723, but the issue remains. Are there any other clients having this issue? Thanks. Update 3/24: Process monitor alerting broken as well, dead in the water here.
Ping Response Times
Hello, we have Cisco switches we are monitoring. The first ping is always 10 to 20ms for each polling time, but consecutive pings are less than 1ms. Is there a way for manage engine to take an average or look at the 2nd or 3rd pings for response time? Is there a way to send more than one ping even? I am guessing there is a delay for ARP or the switch to create a flow for traffic to the CPU. Thank you.
OpManager can't monitor PowerEdge r610
I configure de SNMP community on my PowerEdge r610 through the OS. Set the community name, IP host trap destinations to my OpManager server. So we discover the new device with address 10.73.xxx.xxx, subnetmask 255.255.240.0, it works! As you can see in screenshot_1.jpg it shows data, so the SNMP protocol and credentials are working as you can see in screenshot_2.jpg. This server is a PowerEdge r610. Prevent Errors when Cisco Interface in Shutdown
When our Cisco switchports are not in use, OpManager shows the port in Critical Error when in fact it is shutdown by our Engineers for audit purposes. If a new user or device is provisioned to use the port then it is turned on. Only way to prevent the error from appearing is to not monitor the port. Is there a way for OpManager to auto sense a shutdown port and not monitor? In the least not show the port in error when we shut it down?

Login OpManager problem
I am having serius problems to login in OpManager. I am receiving errors such: SQLException while preparing the statement with id : 19 Cause : Invalid state, the Connection object is closed. SQL Query : select * from UserPasswordTable none of the usernames/passwords works, not even the admin password. So, we forced shutdown OpManager services by shutdown the server. Missing information of device
In OpManager 8, most of my devices will display the "Response Time", "Packet Loss", "CPU Utilities" and "Memory Utilities". however, over a period of time, those information are not able to display. I had to reboot the server in order to display those information again. Anyone out there have similar problem? Any idea how to fix this?? Any suggestion welcome. OpManager 8 running on Linux box.

While configuring opmanager, and I'm still in that phase, I thought up some features that would be helpful that weren't included. #1. Add ability for event log rules to exclude particular event IDs (or any other attribute for that matter) #2. Event logs need a way to say "only if source was the servername", I couldn't find a way. #3. Allow a script to get a folder name for folder monitors. IIS keeps track of its folder locations in the metabase, which can be queried, but this value can be different

Hello, Running Opmgr 8723. Can you add the date and time that the notification profile was sent in the "Notification Profiles Sent" widget? This will save from having to run a report and having to constantly answer the question: "When was the alert sent?" Thanks!

Administration interface stops working
I'm running the latest version of OpManager (fully patched) on a Server 2003 server. When the OpManager service first starts I can access the administration web interface with no problems, but after it's been running for a few hours, I can't view it through a web browser anymore. I've tried backing up the database, doing a fresh installation of the software, and restoring the database, but I get the same problem. Currently I can choose to have a specific dashboard for my domain controllers or SQL servers, or I can have them in virtual devices and monitor their VM info. SQL Server DB tables - custom info
Hi all, Opmanager 8732 with SQL Server DB backend Does anyone know where the Device Notes info is stored? Am assuming in a table in the DB somewhere but can't seem to find it. VM Host monitoring
I have an issue with monitoring VMWare Hosts. VMWare typically requires that all SNMP monitoring run through Virtual Control Center. If monitored on the host themselves there is overhead. (I do not want to add anymore overhead, especially monitoring). Is there a way to monitor VM hosts via the VCC? I have tried with the current MIBs and it fails every time?
Unable to Access Interface Templates
When trying to access the Interface Templates, I receive "Sorry, an error occurred. OpManager was unable to retrieve data from the database. Please try again." error. I have checked the database and all the data appears to be there, so I'm not sure what the issue is. All help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rob

Hello I am trying to run a simple batch file which creates a file with a echo statement when some threshold is breached. When I create and say test actions it says Program executed successfully but nothing actually happens. The script manually works. Monitor SNMP Delta/Change rather than Fixed Threshold
I would like to monitor CRC errors on an interface (Cisco router). I've successfully setup the monitor to alert when the number of errors exceeds a fixed limit. However, since the value cannot be cleared to ZERO on the router the alert continues to notify. I would like to monitor the change in CRC errors from the previous polling. Can this be done?
Change a snapshot dial for a device
Hi, I added a Juniper switch EX4200. I was able to see the CPU and memory on the two dial (I already know how to change the opmanager_snapshot_dial file). The third dial is the backplane utilization that is not populated for Juniper switches. Is it possible to change this dial to show, for example, the temperature? I need to do that only for Juniper switches not for other switch brands. Regards

for a few weeks we bought the mssql add-on monitoring. working well except that : when an instance is discovered and added to mssql dashborad. and then we decide to remove the instance on the server itself : how can we remove the instance in the mssql dashboard ???? i mean : the instance doesn't exist anymore on the server, but still displayed in the dashboard ???!!! Cannot add WMI Monitors
