Alarm Escalation email address bug
I know this was reported, but the reply said it was just a display problem. When you edit an Alarm Escalation rule, the "To Email Address" field gets populated with the default email address, regardless of what value you previously had it set to. The problem is, if you click Edit and change some other value and then click Save without realizing it, the escalations are going to the wrong address now. Feature Request - Monitor Dependancies -- or condition sets
Problem: When one of our mainframes is IPL'd, it triggers over a dozen monitor alert notifications. Several URL monitors (7 web servers directly impacted), etc The true problem is that the DB2 application is unavailable on the mainframe, while it is being IPL'd. I would like somehow to suspend a collection of notifications IF, the DB2 application is unavailable on the mainframe. Is there a method you have in mind for achieving this? Hello, I installed Oputils to evaluate the software. I ran it for about 30 min. When I turned the computer back on. It would not display any screens in the browser; the browser just displayed Internet Explorer's "Page cannot be displayed" page. To make a long story short. I UNINSTALLED IT AND REINSTALLED IT. Now it wont run at all. All I get is a java dialog box that say's, "An Instance of AdventNetManageEngine OpUtils is already running". The service is not running (It won't start because "An Instance

Unable to Display Informations under device details Cisco
Hello, we have problems to see data under device details for several Cisco Routers. The Routers are recognize correctly, but under device details you can't see informations about cpu utilization, mem utilization, interface statistics ...., We can see the Interfaces but only with n/a. Organize Business View
Is there any way to organize the business view links? For example, if I create the following views: office 1 office 2 office 3 etc... then I create the overall view: US Offices By default, the US Offices link gets create after all of the other views. I want the US Offices to be at the top of the listing when I click on the Maps tab. Can this be done? Thanks.
Problem with custom monitor and OID
Hi, using the MIB-Browser I found this OID: .1.3.6.1.2.1.43.10.2.1.4.1.1 which shows me how many pages my printer printed so far. When I set up a custom monitor to have a graph, OPManager automatically adds a .0 to my OID. So the printer does not respond to this monitor any more. Furthermore, when I use the PrinterMarkerLifeCount, which is shipped with OPManager, it uses the OID .1.3.6.1.2.1.43.10.2.1.4 and an instance of .1.1 which shoul return the right value. Discovering the IP address of a router
We have D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G wireless router and it was partially configured by a colleague here in my office. I've been asked to add security to the thing but can't access the device's admin dashboard (because he changed the IP address . . .). I'd prefer not to reset the thing if I can avoid it. I have the MAC ID but OpUtils seems unable to resolve it. Any ideas? Thanks GPC
Can I track illegal software with this?
Hi, I am new to this product and would appreciate if someone could shed me some light. A question that I have :- Can this product track illegal software activites running on users' PC in my company? For example, I do not want users to play counterstrike and use up the bandwith. Or I do not want users to infect her PC with an email virus after she quietly install a pop3 email on her PC. If yes which service should I activate? Tq.
Monitoring Solaris 5.8 processes
Is anyone monitoring processes on Solaris 5.8? I'm unable to find where to have OpManager check a process by name. There are certain processes running on our solaris boxes that I have to monitor and get alerts if the process has died. Thanks!
Old hostname used in drill-down details
I found that the hostname that OpManager originally finds or names a device is used for detail pages even after you rename the device. This happens on all devices regardless of how many times I rediscover or delete/add them. Take for example a Printer I added that has a hostname of Lxwwekmks2 stored in the printer (random hostname from the factory - Lexmark). I rename the printer to it's proper name, but when I click on an alarm, history, or any detail screen, the device is named Lxwwekmks2 instead
Scalable maps
Hello! I am trying to plan out a network map layout that will allow drill downs to that would be easy to read when displayed on our NOC wall. We have WAN links all over the country and many will be in the same state so the icons are way to big. I have started making 10x10 pixel dot icons to place on the USA map to represent locations in different states but this may also get crowded. My problem is that I need to display the entire map but also be able to drill down to the state level and even city
Memory Usage with Windows Storage Server 2003
I am showing exactly twice the percentage of used memory on all my NAS boxes running Microsoft Storage Server 2003. I deleted one of them and added it again but to no avail. In Any suggestions?

Notification
Looking at the Notification options in OPM5.6 I cannot see a way to create a profile which sends to more than one user? For instance - we have two child domains in an ad forest with engineers on both sides. I would like to send email notifications to engineers in both these domains. I guess it is possible to duplicate the notification profile and set it up with another email address, but dont think this is a particular sensible way of doing it. Is it just a case of adding a comma, semi-colon between
Cluster/VIP Monitoring
I have multiple Virtual IP addresses within my environment which I must monitor. Additonally, my Exchange and MSSQL environments are clustered and as such I can only monitor the Exchange/MSSQL resources if I monitor the VIP's. How can I do this?
OpManager and NetFlow Running on Same box Problem
Hello - I have OpManager 5.6 and Netflow Analyzer 4.2 running on the same box, but when I got to integrate Netflow into OpManager for the instructions, when I put in the IP address of the machine and the port of 8080, it cannot find the server. "Unable to establish connection to NetFlow Server" is the error. And to answer a couple stupid questions, yes the service is running, and yes I can log into NetFlow and look at data. Suggestions/Tips/General Help for me? Bill
Monitor Connections to Server
Hi, I am wondering if there is a script out there to moniter connections to a file server... As we would like to generate a report on the number of connections over a time period to see the number of users connected. Does OpManager have something like this? RFC1514 - No such variable name ; in Windows!!??
This is a real strange one. I am monitoring a range of Windows servers with the standard 'HOST-RESOURCES-MIB' without a problem. I'm getting the CPU, memory & disk utilization , plus anything else i browse for under the mib... ....except on these two checkpoint firewall modules (running on Windows2000)! they respond with: "Request failed or timed out. Response PDU received from x.x.x.x Error Indication in response: There is no such variable name in this mib. Errindex: 1" on things as basic as 'hrSystemUptime'

Multiple Thresholds
What is the proper way to have upper and lower thresholds for the same monitored value? I want to be notified if the temp goes under 50 or over 80? Are you supposed to do two different custom monitors, one for the lower and one for the upper? Is this a feature that may or can be added in future releases? OpManager 5.6. Thanks!

Hi, I set the monitor interval for my network device on 30 min., but if any port on switch or any service on server will be down I have to waiting 30 min? or this status change is send to the monitor station? If I configure a threhold I have waiting 30 min to receive an alarm? Zyxel Switch isn�t correctly identified

snmp passwords
Under OpManager Home Servers pick the server I want to look at: Then to the right is the password panel It has the snmp details, and then another window that has Login details username password I am using a user that has monitor rights to the win2k3 server. Is this password that is sent to login, in the clear or is it somewhat encrypted.?

Windows Server 2003 not recognised
Hi, I have this setup on a LAN XP machine and have added all my server devices, FireWALLS & switches totalling 10 devices. For some reason 2 Windows 2003 boxes appear as desktops, so I have input the password details, edited the device type & ensured that SNMP is installed on these devices. Thye now appear in thye server maps but still the SNMP blue star does not appear beside them & I cannot view the asset or NIC details from the console.. Is there some xtra setting in 2003 that I am missing?? Thanx

I've tried to use the Mib Browser to load a Mib but it complains about not finding the file under C:\Program where the file infact is located under C:\Program Files\... where do I change what directory the Mib files are located? /Fredrik

Cannot read NT4 domain controller event logs
I am getting "event service down" on my NT4.0 domain controllers in OpManager. The user/password I specified is in the Local Administrators group for the domain, and I can login as that user to another machine and access the event logs on the NT4.0 server. Is there anything else that needs to be done to get this to work? None of my event log alerts are firing off.

How to do copy and paste several devices from network view to business view? I know that when I created a business view can adds devices from the list, but in my case I tried to add several devices ( a lot ) to a business view and all of them are in a network view, is most easy for me copy and paste. Hello, I need to report on aggregate rx/tx utilization on some gigabit ports on 2 of my switces. Unfortunately I cannot find a way of doing this. Custom Monitor Problem
I need to set a threshold for monitoring freespace in GB, but for each drive separately. I tried to setup a custom monitor using (.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.4.5(.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.5-.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6))/(1073741824) where .5 is the instance from the GB monitor that you guys provide. This should give me the free space in GB on the M: drive of the server that I'm trying to monitor. When I try to add that custom monitor, it says that it does it successfully but it never shows up under the device.
