RPC not available
I am having an issue trying to monitor Windows System services. I am going through a FW to a DMZ and authenticating to another domain. I have the right password, RPC is running on the destination servers I am trying to hit, but cannot get a connection. Any help would be appreciated. I can get to another domain across that same FW, but am having issues with the one on the DMZ. Thanks, Bob
server startup problems
I trying to run OpManager from an XP pro host, where I'm also running my webserver and mysql. Through these boards I managed to overcome the first opstacle (datadir in my.ini pointed to a non-existing folder, which I then created). Now I'm getting this message, when trying to start OpManager server from command line: SQLException while getting database connection. Monitoring gigabit ports
How do I get a daily aggregate of a selection of ports from a switch ?, I have 12 gigabit ports that I need daily or weekly totals on. Regards Scott.

Devices Are Not Discovered Correctly
Devices are not discovered correctly even after adding the OID and creating a new custom device type. Once I add the device type shouldn't each subsequent like-device be discovered correctly and automatically categoried as the appropriate device? I am running build 5604.
Setting up WAN monitoring
I am using 2 firewalls and have a branch office VPN between them. How do I setup monitoring on that connection? I would like to know amount of data passed over the VPN, up times, speeds, etc. I have workstations and printers on the other side of this WAN and can see them without issue.
Used disk space seems wrong on OP manager.
Dear all: The version of OP manager is �5610�, it�s installed on Windows 2003 server. The snapshot of disk utilization shows normally. The used disk space doesn't not match the output of Linux command �df -k�. I notice that the value of resource monitor item �free disk space in GB� is keep on 1(GB). An Error while Sending E-mail in Window 2000 Professional
My operation system has two kinds of verison, one is Window 2000 pro for English Version and the other is for Chinese Version.,When I configure E-mail and trigger sending E-mail operation. In Chinese Version ,everythin is just fine(the mail can be sent and received normally). Regarding the main page
Hi everybody, I would like to know if it's possible to share the main page between several users in OpManager. For example, to have statistics about router/server/appz like in the main page when we use the "admin" account but using an other account we have just access to manage a few Business Views. Unable to launch OpManager 5.6 server on XP

How difficult it will be to fix the session timeout!?
It has been long time since a few of us reported the miss behave of session timeout+refresh interval of the web session. Basically, user is forced to choice between 1) to have a web session never timeout but no update/refresh or 2) to see the updates by the configured time interval without noticed the page timeout after a while. Such "feature" made the alarm monitoring useless because the operator either monitor a timeouted page or watch a page do not have real time alerts. We have a few instances
Application Monitor - MSSQL, Lotus Notes not working
I am not getting any data using application monitoring on MSSQL and Lotus Notes. The servers has snmp enabled (and sqlserveragent enabled on the server with mssql) and are able to collect data for the rest of the services. None of the parameters in the MSSQL and Lotus Notes application monitoring works for me. I tried using the MIB browser to trace the value but it showed the message 'Request failed or timed out. No error'. Please help.

Thresholds will not be generated with custom monitors
I all, I have a custom monitor, checking the temperature of my APC Power Supply. I set a threshold for this monitor, but the threshold can not be saved. There is always "No Threshold" in my Device-properties page. When setting a threshold for another monitor e.g. Memory utilization, the threshold is saved and works. Is there a bug, that thresholds will not work with custom monitors? Juergen

Printer Monitoring
Is it possible to monitor an installed printer that is listed in the Windows printers list? For example, when I go to "Printers and Faxes" on my Windows server, can I pick one of those printers to be monitored in OpManager? The printer is not a network printer, but is a local printer connected to a port like LPT1. Thanks

MySQL
I've been attemting to use the opManager server for other functions, one of which requires MySQL. What is the admin user/pass for SQL? can I use the OpManager installed MySQL? Why do I receise an error 10061 (can't connect to localhost) when I test the SQL communication? Thanks and great product.
Device Type Hangs
When I click "Device Type" in OpManager while under the properties of an object, the page hangs, never produces the Device Type page, and never times out. I am running build 5604

Do they know that when you have your page size set to display 125 alarms and you try to delete them all, that the page comes up with a script error. However, when you set the page size back to 100, it work fine.

Devices Not Showing Up In Map
I have several business views that contain objects in OpManger. Some of the maps properly display the sub-object (routers switches), but some say '15 items' but appear to contain nothing; i.e. no router icons are present. I am running build 5604.
Network Speed
I have about 25 machines running Redhat 9 and they are all showing the network connection at 10 Mbps. I am positive they are 1Gbps or 100Mbps at the least. Is there something in the snmp.conf file I need to change to have them start showing the correct connecton speed in Opmanager?

Monitoring APC UPS and Alerting
Hello, Purchased OPMANAGER under the asumption that the software will monitor our APC UPS devices at remote sites and alert us via text message or email when a UPS loses AC power and switches over to battery power. I am able to get my UPD setup and they are being monitored, but they do not report when AC power is lost and batteries kick in.. How can I get this to work correctly. Thanks, Jhottle

v3 traps with OpUtils
Is there a way to configure the Trap Receiver for v3 Traps? Currently I only see traps sent over if they are sent as v1.
Monitoring Secure Devices
Hi Have a number of servers that are located in a secure LAN and want to be able to monitor the avaliable services (FTP,HTTP,SMTP etc). The monitoring server is not able to ping these servers as this is blocked by the firewall. When I try to add these devices to OpManager I get "Device not Found". Is there a way around this? OPmanager not responding
I have recently upgraded to Opmanager 5.6 and after having a problem with the JVM enviornment variable I am now expierencing random opmanager crashes that only a reboot can fix. Seems like it is a problem opening the socket to the service. Anyone else having this problem? Doug
Business View Link name change not working.
I'm trying to create a global business view to project on the wall for our NOC. I pretty much have what I need, except that I'd like to be able to rename the links in between the shortcuts on the business view. I right-click on the link>properties> and then change the name, this is all fine and good. But out of the 7 links, whenever I change it for one ie. Limerick_Dublin change to Limerick. It only changes one of the link names, the same one each time no matter which link I try to rename. Thanks,

Unable toapply a Threhold to Custom Monitor
Hi, I am trying to apply a Threshold limit to a Custom Monitos/MIB that i uploaded. The data collection from the MIB work fine But i am unable to apply a thresholdto it so i then can trigger an e-mail. It lets me go in and adjust the Threshold values and i can apply these. but when i go back into the Custom Monitor the Threshold i not enabled and is uUnTicked. When i do the same procedure on a montior of say Device Responce time then the threshold is ok Any Ideas

Exchange Service Monitor
I have an SBS 2003 box which is being looked after by OpManager but I keep getting an alarm to tell me that the Exchange Service is down. It's working perfectly fine (well to my knowledge anyway). Why may I be getting this alarm?
MIB Loading
I just recieved a .zip file with over 60+ MIB .txt files from my IP/SAN vendor (Left Hand Networks). I spent almost 2 hours loading in each individual .txt file using the MIB browser (which I might add is unbelievably frustrating since I can't seem to find a way to mass load in these mibs - AND - you have to load them in in the right order). I have multiple questions: 1. Is there an easier way to load in the MIBS. 2. Why did they all become 'unloaded' when we restarted OPManager? 3. How do I know
