Opmanager EE Installation
I'm having trouble installing Opmanger EE 5.6. I'm trying to install both the NOC and the Probe on the same server and only one will install correctly...the second install will break both installs. I install the Central server first on port 443. I can access the server by https://localhost and I have a probes tab. There is nothing under the probes tab or anything under the Maps tab. I am unable to Add any devices from the Admin Tab because I get a: dms.topo.actions.addnode.dmsName.notSpecified The
Opmanager Milestone 4 Issuses
I have now installed the new Milestone 4 release and it starts to look more like a complete package. But there are still some more issues to finish. 1. When trying to copy back already collected data back to ..MySQL\Data from an earlier version, it seems to be impossible. Issue with Service Monitors not showing in Server Map
Hi I have been adding new servers to opmanager and have decided to trial using WMI rather than SNMP for gathering system stats. Am able to add the server in fine... set its type through the password section, monitor resources etc, and the services (eg web, sql ports) are auto discovered upon adding the server. However, I have been finding that servers that do not have SNMP enabled are not having their green status dots showing up in the detailed view for the server map, nor are they showing any services
OpManager 6 Scheduled Report Bug
We started using the Scheduled Report feature in Opmanager 6 and noticed these two bugs. 1. When creating a scheduled report, if you leave the Generate Reports to all Devices in this Business View unchecked, the scheduled report will still default to a business view. 2. Hello. I'm so sorry if this has benn answered before, but i looked this up in the whole site and found nothing about it. I'm interested in monitoring the cpu temperature of a intel processor in a windows 2003 server. Is there a mib file that i can load in opmanager or something like that? I found some mib files in the intel webpage, but they are just for switches and stuff. Thank you.
Logging into web console problems
Hi Have upgraded to V6 of opmanager, and cannot log into the web console properly anymore. I can get to the main screen fine, and log in and get to the home page, but when I try and click on any link or tab, I get thrown out to the login screen again. This happens in IE6 on XP SP2. When I use firefox, it all works fine. Have set security to low etc and allowed cookies and all the usuall stuff, but still not working. Any ideas? Thanks David
Wake On Lan -- script
Hi, I would like to once-a-week turn on desktops in one of our remote locations, at around 11:30pm, in order for them to run virus scans and updates. I know that OpUtils includes the wake-on-lan feature, but is there any way this could be added to OpManager so that we could turn on some of our lesser-used machines? Thanks :)

OpManager 6.0 - problem with NLB cluster IP addresses
Hi, I've got two Windows Server 2003 boxes. Each has its own IP address, plus an NLB IP address on the same interface. When I discover the devices, only one device's interface appears on the device snapshot page. If I rediscover the second device, the interface graph disappears from the first. If I rediscover the first one, it disappears from the second one. etc. etc. etc. :) The IP address that gets used for the graph is the NLB IP address; is there any way I can alter the database to force the
Server Half-Down?
I'm having a problem where occasionally the problem we are having escapes OpManager's notice. This is what generally happens. One of our servers is rebooted and hangs during reboot, but OpManager can still ping the server, so it doesn't show any errors. When I attempt to do tests on the monitors, they report back that they couldn't communicate, and yet the view of the server shows green. If I am telling it to connect (say to CPU) and it can't and is giving me red, shouldn't the status notice just
Cannot monitor SQL2k
Hi, I've read through the different posts in here, and done everything that peaople suggest. Apparently I'm not the only one with this problem. When adding MSSQL monitoring in OpManager 6.0 I do not get a response from the server when testing them. I've started the SQLAgent service that has been suggested. Does anyone have a similar problem? SQL Server - The Monitor did not respond to the test request
I have a SQL Server and we want check the SQL Information. We have activat SNMP and al is running if we Check Memory and other things. If we want Monitor SQL Function than we became this Message: The Monitor did not respond to the test request . Monitor Name MssqlInfoUserConnections Protocol SNMP OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.4.1.1.2.1.16 The Server is in a other Subnet (195.125.1.....) The OPManager is in (192.168.100...) If I Check a Server in the same Subnet than all is running fine. Can you help me?
Version 6.0 - CLI CPU monitor issue...
I have CLI based CPU resource monitor turned on for some of our Linux systems. These are older generation quad (4) processor systems. Upto version 5.6 i believe a single aggregate value was being reported for all the 4 processors and with the thresholds enabled it use to report violations after that aggregate value exceeds 90 (as i have it setup). Now with the new version each processor is monitored seperately (which is kind of nice) but even if one of the processor exceeds the threshold it generates

OpManager: Device discovery; Duplicate Devices
I completed a device discovery, and now I have a ton of routers/switches in separate categories. The issue is the devices have about 10-20 separate networks configured on each and now I have 10-20 router icons in different categories (Router, Switch, Desktop) for the same device. They are all listed by IP. Questions: 1. Is there a quick way to fix this? 2. Does OpManager know how to discover devices without causing duplicate entries? 3. Do I have to delete the devices and add them in manually? 4.
Dependency handling problem
The dependency section of OpManager does not appear to handle faults in a WAN well where dependencies are declared. To expand�. We have a network with several offices (with dozens of remote servers) and also multiple remote sites all linked via a wireless / vpn wan solution. SNMP proxies and virtual server monitoring
Hi, We're considering OpManager for managing corporate servers we have at various customer sites across Europe. These servers are all behind firewalls with dedicated (TCP) port openings to us for management purposes. This is fairly complex, and I'm interested in how we can accommodate/customize OpManager to fit the bill. For alarms I imagine we have to use SNMP proxies and have OpManager receive traps from these proxies locally on the same network as the OpManager server resides (possible localhost).

6.0 Splash Screen
I did the upgrade to 6.0 from 5.6. Stuff seems to be going good so far but the initial login web page still has the old 5.6 screen, did I do something wrong on the install?
Service Desk Plus link missing for Domain Controllers
usually, there is a link to jump to hardware details/etc. directly from OpManager. For the new Domain Controllers, the link is no longer there. Thanks.

Hi, I see that your software supports Mysql monitoring but not postgresql. Is it planned to support it or anybody using custom monitors to monitor the health of postgresql?
Exchange monitor stopped working
I've upgraded from 5604 to 6000 and now my exchange monitors all show N/A. I'm using username@domain.com for authentication for the server. Thanks!
can't add non-snmp host in OpManager 6
It won't let me leave the snmp community/ports blank, and if I put something in there it sits there about 10 minutes and says it added the host. When I search for the host it does not exist. Something similar is hapening wih rescanning non-snmp hosts -- it sits there for 10 minutes and doesn't change anything.
Not showing downtime correctly
I had a device that OpManager said was down for the past 14 hours, however during that same time I was able to ping the device. I removed the device and re-added it again, that seemed to fix the status.....why would OPManager have done this?
Upgrade Pack 6.0
I shut down Opmanager completly, insureing that MySQLD, Java, etc. were all closed. I started Updatemanager.bat. Program loaded fine, I selected the upgrade patch and then hit finish. New window pop ups to show the status, but nothing happens. I killed the java.exe program and proceded to shut down all non-essential services. Again the same issue, the patch just hangs. After 10 minutes again I just killed the program. Any ideas short of a new install?
sending Eventlogs per mail dosn't work
hy everybody, i monitor a Windows Event log with opmanager. I would like to send a mail, when a event with id 8001 appear in windows event log. Probelm is, it comes no mail. I don't understand it. opmanager has all rights to monitor the watching server. the notification profile and the windows event log rules under the admin screen function good. i verify this rules with an other server, and it works. a mail comes out when the event 8001 was emerge. just for one server didn't work this rule. what
CPU USAGE % PROBLEM

In OpManager 6, monitors created as type "node" somehow get a .0 added to the end of the specified OID.

Scheduled Reports in OpManager 6.0
There are two bugs that seem to been in the scheduled reporting. 1. When you create a scheduled report and do not select a business view. It will still select a business view for the TOP N Reports. I have created a business view to solve this issue. But, there are nodes that I do not wish to create a business view to create a scheduled report. 2. Thanks for the new release! There are a number of the new features that we will love. I have a question though, currently we use the java client to project our "network view" onto a wall in our office. We are able to see the network view and a list of the active alarms, will there be a way for us to do this in the new version? I would love to have a customizable page where you could pick certain things that were on it ie, a business view + active alarms. thanks, Mark
password reset
I lost the password and username for my login. I then did the following: 1. I only have a few combinations so tried these- none are working. 2. Tried to uninstall and reinstall the program. a. The program will not uninstall completely. It always leaves registry keys and folders under C:\program files\advent. b. Even when I do manually delete these and reinstall I still cannot log in with default admin admin settings for user and password. How can I get the password for now? How do we completely uninstall

Hi I want to be able to access the mysql database over the network which means i will have to edit the mysql start up script and bind an ip address to it and modify the databaseparameters.conf file so that Opmanager will be able to connect is there any other files apart from the mysql shutdown script that i will need to edit?
