Issue with Service Monitors not showing in Server Map

I have been adding new servers to opmanager and have decided to trial using WMI rather than SNMP for gathering system stats.
Am able to add the server in fine... set its type through the password section, monitor resources etc, and the services (eg web, sql ports) are auto discovered upon adding the server.
However, I have been finding that servers that do not have SNMP enabled are not having their green status dots showing up in the detailed view for the server map, nor are they showing any services in the large view.
Drilling into the server itself shows the service ports as being monitored successfully, and i can get history on them, but they simply do not show up in the server map views.
If I add a snmp enabled server, then they show up properly.
Is this a known issue or is there a fix?
