I've installed the free version of opmanager to test out the monitoring of our WAN Sites. Here are a few things I found so far after a week or two of playing with it. Adding monitors is painful - I want to enable the following traffic monitors - Rx and Tx errors, discards, traffic and utilization. Adding each monitor in individually is kind of painful. Device Type and WMI access
Hi, I have various Windows XP computers that I'd like to change the device type from "Windows XP" to "Windows XP Tablet", "Windows 2000", "Windows 2005 MCE". However, once I switch to these new device type, SNMP, WMI no longer work? Is there a workaround for this? Thanks.
Spanish characters in OP Manager
Hi there, We have some specials characters like " � ", and some of my PC's has this character in the PC name. OP Manager reads this character as (in HTML code � = à ±) We can't clear the alerts for PC's with this simbol in the name of the machine. Please, any idea? ex: coru�a -> coruña ( I put the HTML codes cos I can't write the ASCII codes). Daniel Lopez

Can't remove Resource Monitors from the list
Hi, I can't remove any of the Resource Monitors from the monitor list. Could you plese tell me is there any workaround to do that? Othervise I have to delete node form the list then I need to add all needed monitors again. Thank you in advance. Best Regards, Ivo
Tracing an IP address in NetFlow
I am using OpMan to track my Internet traffic. I am seeing a tremendous amount of traffic going to "205.161.6.57" on http. I have tried to connect to it to see what it is but I get a bad URL message. I tried DNS Reports but nothing came back on it. Does anyone have any ideas how I can track this down to see what it is? :D
OpUtils & OpManager on the same server
I am currently testing out these products and I have noticed a problem with them. They don't seem to like being logged in together. I log into OpUtils and start doing something, then I log into OpManager, if I switch back to OpUtils the session ends if I log back in and go back to OpManager the session ends. Not a huge deal but it can get annoying when trying to get a lot of things done.
Error when attempting to change Device Type from Unknown
When I attempt to change a device from Type "Unknown" I get a screen that just says "Error!". The system description is correct and I was able to change the Category to the correct one.

bug in reporting
hello, when i open the device and press on the pie chart ( availability) it appears the today availability , but when i try to custom it for , it still display for me the today availbilty numbers (but of course the title of the page is the availabilty of my custumized period). any solutions ? also if i tried to go to "reports" tab and select device , there is no "availabilty " report i can generate , only response time.
Problem with desktop alarms

Installing on Ubuntu 5.10
It took me a day or two but I was able to install OpManager onto Ubuntu 5.10, I just thought I would lay out what I remember doing incase someone else is looking. First head here http://easylinux.info/wiki/Ubuntu add the extra repositories and get your system upto date. next create a sym link for the libgdbm.so.2 library ln -s /usr/lib/libgdbm.so.3.0.0 /usr/lib/libgdbm.so.2 Also under $home/apache there was an error in the startwebsvr.sh script, it was looking for a jre1.4.1 dir under opmanager but
Alarm Variables in OpManager MSP
Can anyone point me to what the standard alarm variables are within OpManager? I am pulling back the display name with $displayName but I also want to pull back the IP Address of the device reporting the error.
Discovery no longer working
Hi, I have OPManager 6.0 build 6003 I have 4 subnets. The first one was great and the second work as well. but the 3 and forth will not be discovered. If I add a device one by one then I get all the data but the discover Network will not find them/ Help? Thanks Scott

report availability
Hi, I can't display "All Interfaces Availability Report" in Report section. When I try the message that I receive is "No data available" but this is not true. In fact if I go into the router interface section I can see the interface availability for today, yesterday, etc. I created an "custom monitor" (I called it "Interface_status") with .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.7 mib and it functions well when I perform a test. If I go in the report section and I choose both router and "Interface_status" I can't display
ServiceDesk Plus and NetOp Manager in one Server
Is it possible to have ServiceDesk Plus and NetOp Manager in one Server. I already have ServiceDesk Plus installed and running well. But When I tried to install Netop Manager 6, The installation is good, but it won't operate. Regards, Flow

Logon/header customization
Hey I have now and again seen posts about customizing the logon screen and the header/logo (the top stripy lines area up the top). From my understanding this can not be done (by the user), is this a feature expected to be released in future releases of opmanager? Is it on the roadmap and if so is it expected this year? Thank you

Alert for Service Down
I have configured in one profile 3 polls for Device misses. This configuration this functioning however the services that are inside of this device soon sends me an alert email of after first fall. How to configure so that the service alarm is only sent after the third falls? I am using Opmanager 6 Build 6003. Thanks !
WMI Help Needed
Hi, I am doing some testing with OpManager and I keep getting Error # User credentials cannot be used for local connections while trying to enable any type of WMI monitoring. I have enabled dcom, rpc, wmi. I have set up the security settings ok. I am not running on a domain. SNMP works fine but I'd like to be able to monitor particular services on a XP box. tia
No data in Report - All Servers Availability Report
Hello. Why isn't there any data in All Servers Availability Report ?? OpManager have been running for a while now, and there is no data in the report. All of my devices is SNMP enabled. How can I correct this ?
Make a server not a domain controller
Hello, I have downloaded the trial version of OpManager and wanted to know if it was possible to monitor a domain controller, but monitor it just as a server? I have everything setup correctly. I have tried to change it from a DC to a server, but it keeps reverting back. I do not need to use any of the tools in the AD plugin. IS there a setting to stop this from happening?

Need help ! problem to restore OpManager DB
Hi, I need your help to restore our OpManager server. After a break down with the OpManager Server, I had setting up a new server with same release (OpManager 5.5 + Service pack 6000). I have only a ntbackup from my old server with directory OpManager. I can restore ..\OpManager\conf directory and start again OpManager => it works But if try to restore data (..\OpManager\MySql\Data\OpManager) , server don't start, there's an error with DB fialed. If I restore the data directory in a other directory
cisco 2620 config problem

CPU Monitor, what OID?
Hey folks I am desperately trying to monitor my Dell PowerEdge server via MRTG. Up to now, I have not been able to find out any of the OIDs I need to display simple things like CPU usage or memory load. SNMP walks with the Dell MIBs all failed and I'm really becoming frustrated. Now I tried the OpUtils and who would believe it, the CPU Monitor is painting me a wonderful graph of the Servers CPU load! Anyone out there that could tell me how to find out what OID OpUtils is using or how I could find
Need to keep restarting Oputils from the server.
Support... I am testing oputils to see if is a viable solution to our network management. The problem is I have to keep restarting Oputils from the desktop icon to get it to run. I have installed this as a service but this still fails Is this a common problem. Any Help would be much appreciated. Regards Garry
Error using MapMaker on OPM6
Hi all, I tried to make a bussiness view, using a jpeg image. In the MapMaker application running in the server, the bussiness view works fine, but when I try to see the view on my machine with the web client, OPM displays an error! without more info. Thanks in advance. Daniel Lopez.

MIB Browser in web client:build 6004-BROKEN!!
Anytime I attempt to load mibs using mib browser I get the following error "Exception:Reading/Parsing MIB:java.io.FileNotFoundException: Could not open file F:/Program" It works fine if I use the executable and the feature worked in Op5. I'm using a fully licensed version.Please help :cry:
OPManager and Xavi X3102r
Hi, We from our company have some problems with the OPManager and two Xavi X3102r switches. We are really new to SNMP and managment softwares belonging to it. 1. The OPManager can not read out the device type of the Xavi X3102r. There is always "Unknown" declared as device type. What do I have to do to get this right? 2. OpManager TFTP Server conflicts with 3Com TFTP Win2k3
OpManager's TFTP server takes over port 69 keeping my 3Com TFTP server from fulfilling requests. I need to either change the TFTP server in OpManager, know the diretory that is used for file storage for TFTP in OpManager, or stop OpManager from loading a TFTP Server. Can someone advise?
