Migrating OpManager to a New Sever
Is there a procedure for migrating a fully customized OpManager (MySQL) application to another sever (hardware) in a way that the customizations are not lost? Thanks, Patti
can't get switch port mapper working properly on Cisco 4507R
I try to use the swich port mapper feature on our cisco 4507 R L3 switch, but can't get any IP address, but if I use solarwinds, I don't have any problem. What should I do to fix this? I'm using OpUtils 4 4300 build eva version. Thanks Thomas

Removing DBEntries
Hello all, i m having problem with removing 1 devise entry as i m trying to rediscover its ports it does not rediscover , op support sugessted me to use..RemoveDBEntries.bat script to remove the device totally and discover it again . i have extract the RemoveDBEntries.bat in /bin folder and i m trying to remove my device wiht ip / name gives me this error : Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: RemoveDBEntries i dont have knowledge of scripts can anyone guide me plz. my script

Growing Apache Logs
Hi, not long ago our hard disk filled up to 100% due to the Apache logs growing bigger and bigger. Does Opmanager supply some way of controlling/rotating the Apache logs? I'm afraid that when I tamper with the apache config to set piped logging or something these changes will be lost with an Opmanager upgrade. Or does someone provide a script to move the logs and restart Apache or something? I don't want to reinvent the wheel :) Any help would be appreciated. P.s I couldn't find a good answer by
Exchange monitors not working but other WMI are
Hi. We have a problem with our MSP server, in that the last two customer probes we've added and installed on their networks, have a dedicated domain admin account to log on as, but the exchange section only shows used disk space, it doesn't show all the other information such as message delivery etc. We have several other customer servers that show all exchange monitors properly, but the last few don't have any last polled values. WMI is working for all other areas such as active directory and WMI

Problem after upgrade to build 4300
After upgrading to build 4300 I can no longer see my rogue devices. I had about 30 entries and they all disappeared. Also I see new rogues under alerts but when I go to the rogue page I see nothing. I tried calling tech support but they were busy and they said they will return my call, that was yesterday morning. Help!
Unable to monitor APC UPS

Hello! I'm having problems getting the Vendor Spesific Monitor: IBMPSGTemperatureSensorCurrentReading to work at all. Have gotten cpu, memory and disk monitors working, and got snmp working ok. It is an IBM X346 with Windows 2003 Server SP1. Pls. assist, don't know what I'm doing wrong, but that is not strange considering I'm a newbie at this.

Monitoring an untrusted/one-way trust domain
Our firewall is sitting in a domain with a one-way forest trust to our office domain. Is there any guidelines on how to monitor a machine which is not in a trusted domain? I have opened the DCOM ports and service discovery is still failing (RPC server is unavailable). Thanks, Colin
Devices behind a PIX 515
I have 3 Cisco devices that are in DMZs behind a pix firewall. All 3 switches have the same correct community string, and they all point to opmanager which resides on the internal side of the firewall. All cisco devices on the internal network were discovered fine, and give accurate alarms. The 3 cisco devices that are in the dmz's however will not stay green. I have the firewall opened to all 3 dmzs from the internal network with static acls allowing udp and tcp 161, and tcp 162, and udp snmptraps
OpManager and Ticketing
I am currently an evaluator of the Opmanager MSP application: In the latest release Opmanager MSP has integrated the SupportCenter Plus ticketing application. That is great ! One of the nice features I liked from the SupportCenter is that customer could log issues directly via a webinterface. Within the Opmanager only ticket generation via email seems to be supported. Am I missing something ? Looking forward Sijbren

MSSQL Application Monitor
Running build 6015 I have two SQL servers Server A Server B Added mssql application monitor to server A, checks fine. Works like a charm. Added mssql application monitor to server B, says added but never shows. The DB shows under Server B. Can it run on both servers? How do I remove it from server A? There is no option to REMOVE the application monitor once added. I've even deleted both servers and added in server B, hoping to get the mssql monitor but it never shows.

Problem with OPManager-MSP on VMWare Server
Hi, We are evaluating the OPManager-MSP platform and installed it on a w2k3 as a quest on VMware Server. The OPManager-MPS collects data from remote probes via https. During our evaluation we do not get a stable connection between the probes and the central OPManager MSP server. The OPM-MSP server sends a regular stream of email messages that probes are up and down. UP / Down messages from both probes have the same timestamp. So we assume that it has something to do with the server. We are testing

Helo, I am trying to monitor SAN disk drives attached to my 2003 server. The only drives I can see to monitor is C or A drives. How can I monitor this drives using opmanager? I tried different things but I just can't see this drive letters to monitor the disk usage. I need your help. mdereje
Devices Behind a Firewall
Hello, I have just downloaded and installed OpManager and started adding devices to be monitored by it. I however have run into a problem, I can not seam to add individual devices behind a firewall/router. When I add the device it sees it just fine, but instead of making a separate device for it, it just adds the interfaces to the router. I am access the devices through port forwarding since the only piece of equipment on the network that has a public IP is the router/firewall. Is there a way around

Newbie question - Problem loading traps from MIB
I try to load traps from several MIBS who refer to another MIB (NCR-CORESST-MIB) I get this error message: IMPORTS failed: Could not open file C:/Program Files/AdventNet/ME/OpManager/./mibs/NCR-CORESST-MIB When I tried to browse MIBS earlier, I got a similar message when loading the MIBS, but after I loaded the file referred to, I could browse the MIBS, but it does not seem to apply for loading traps. Anyone who has any ideas on how I can solve this problem?
i detect the device but i dont see values
hi, i have installed Opmaneger on my computer and i connected the computer to a SNMP capable device. on the browser, i can see that that 2 devices are actived but i dont see any values (Menory utilisation, Disk space .............) nothing. i use the free version of the software and i dont have a license. please help me i don�t know what to do
Itegno 3000 and SMS
Just a quick one - I'm looking at the list of GSM supported modems - specifically the Itegno 3000. According to Itegno's web-page this modem connects via USB.... however Opmanager insists that GSM modems be connected up via serial port. I would actually like to hook up a GSM modem via USB so can the Itegno 3000 be used via USB or not? Anyone with any experience of this? Cheers JtBS

Hi. First time poster. I just downloaded and installed OP, the freebie 20 version one. I'm at a store that is the size of Home Depot. It has a T1, a Dlink router supplying DHCP, 2 switches, 15 PCs, one IBM POS server, some printers, and me, connected through a Linksys router set to AP and a laptop with the OP software on it. I launched it and ran the Discovery process and selected ALL. But, nothing shows up at all. And, if I go to the Admin section to Add a network, it says I can't do it with the

Is there a way to delete old unsolicited traps? like in email that if it is still there for 5 days delete it automatically? Also is it possible to suppress same traps receive? Thanks

Problem integrating Service Desk

I can connect to the service desk (Successfully tested and added the ServiceDesk Plus server details) but the details from Service Desk where not importet or can not be accessed. SNMP Problems with Windows 200/2003 Servers
Hi all, I got a problem with snmp on some of our servers. The problem is that ressource monitors doesn�t monitor e.g. CPU Utilization, Disk and Memmory Utilization etc. SNMP is enabled and configured on that servers and the destination host is always the same (server where opmanager is running) and the community name is also equal. network monitor stops polling
Hello, Yes I do have another post about the network monitor not updating. Last time I stopped and started the service and it started polling again. It worked for a while and now it is not polling any more. Also when I clear the error log, it clears the history for that. Not good. Can you help me figure out why this is not polling any more. This is a good feature and I really need it right now. The last poll that it took was on 3/17-2007 at 11:59, so it ran for a day. Thanks! Mark

E-mail notification problem!
Hi All, I have define an e-mail notification for my devices, to receive when they are critical and then when they clear. Typically i receive the mail for critical and then for clear! (Typically this appends because some "very faraway" devices have some time out's) But some times (happily rare cases) i receive the clear first and then the critical and other times i receive the critical notification and the clear never appears!
