OpManager 7 Beta Bugs
FIRSTLY, IS THERE A PORTAL THAT DISPLAYS ALL KNOWN BUGS, AND ALLOWS USERS TO TRACK, POST, AND VIEW BUGS? I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE THIS. Here is a list of problem I have come across with OpManager 7 Beta running on CentOS 4.4 Linux. 1.) I go into a device via the map and then select add URL monitor, I put in all the details, but when I try and add the monitor a client side javascript error is thrown, preventing me from adding any URL monitors. 2.) Hello everybody, I have big problem adding my switch in Opmanager when i try to add it with ip 172.26.175.250 its gives me message it has been addes succesfully , then i try to find it it says it is not there...i have try the tool remove db and it does not work it does so that i has removed the entry then its the same process i add it again and it does not show up i dont know what is the solution the device is snmp enable and the network which i m using where the switch belongs to it discover rightly

Dear Support Team, i just installed a copy of OpManager ver.6 in one of our ibm server and i noticed, it did not give me a list of servers or routers and some manageable switches after a couple of hours that i installed it. for how long does the opmanager will give us information? aside from enabling the SNMP in all windows machine, what else i need to do? i believed in one our router i did not enable the snmp on it, can you teach me how to enable it? also, kindly tell me what else i should do to

Gentlemen, good day! i just want to ask anybody from this forum if you encountered an error in installing the OpManager. the error sez, "Failed to install msi file. the installation will now clean-up the set-up fileand abort". your suggestion to fix this issue is very much appreciated. thanks; arvi
Updated Beta install
When I attempt to install the new beta, currently running build 7000, it wants to uninstall build 7000 wiping out that data and setups. How do I go about getting the new version installed. Also, does the new build include Exchange support? One of the issues I have is that on Domain controllers, the domain authentication works for getting the AD information but fails on the WMI services. If I remove the domain from the auth credentials, the WMI works but the AD fails. Thanks Kirk
MSSQL Application Monitor (WMI)
Hi, We have recently installed OpManager v6015 and the MSSQL Application monitor that we are using to manage MSSQL using WMI. I added the MSSQL WMI App Monitor to the first server and everything worked fine. I could see all of the statistics for that database as expected. I then added it to a second a third server but the server snapshots show no application monitors as being installed for servers 2 & 3. However, I am seeing the database names from servers 2 & 3 showing up in Server 1, but no statistics
Adding custom monitos to Graphinfo.xml
In out business we have a new UPS Management card, but it is not possible to monitor via Opmanager. We also have the Powerware Cards, and I have edited the ups_monitors.xml and graphinfo.xml for those, and made a new device type, and they work. I also did this for the new HP UPS management card. But now I am trying to add a graph to Graphinfo.xml, but with no satisfying result. If I add the new monitors before the powerware monitors, they aren't displayed in the list of vendor specific monitors.

Since we had monitor window 2003 host & Solaris host through WMI or SNMP, the service which monitor result 4xxx ms, what's the problem the result can be slow as 4xxx ms ? What's methodology for OpManager to detect services (such as HTTP,SMTP, POP etc)?

E-Mail Notifications No Longer Work after Service Pack 1

I add the devices, but when i go back to check they are not in the view or in the devices list to add. Unable to find the object

deleting admin account
Hi I've just bought a 1 user licence for OPUtils. I want to delete the admin account and create and account that only I know the username and password. How do I do this? I can't see anywhere to delete the admin account and until I do I cant create another account as I only have 1 user licence. With the ability of OpUtils to be able to upload a config to a device its too much of a security risk to have the default username and password on the login page. Any help would be appreciated
Exchange 2003 Monitoring error
I tried to monitor my brand new exchange 2003 server but i've some values which don't return values. The monitor don't respond to OPmanager 's test. I have WMI and SNMP enabled on my server with no firewall. Can somebody help me or have an idea to get those values? Thanks for answering.[/img]
Resource monitors on Windows 2003 server
I'm trying to setup the resource monitors in OpManager 7 beta for a windows 2003 server. I have enabled SNMP under windows and adjusted the settings as per the OpManager User Guide. I have added the SNMP resource monitors for HDD, CPU, and memory to the device in OpManager and entered the correct community string. OpManager seems unable to retrieve the information it needs to show these monitors. I tried copying the Object ID from OpManager and pasted it directly into the MIB Browser. I get a message

cpu utilization.
opmanager doesnt seem to capture the cpu utilization for my routers. i have done the troubleshoot and everything is fine. opmanager managed to capture the memory utilization but not the cpu utilization. any solutions?

MSP Customer Ticket Access
I'm currently evaluating OpManager MSP and would like to give customers access to the ticket section so they can log there own requests. The problem is that non of the accounts can get access via the main login page, only users created as support reps have access. Is there a different URL to use to get direct access to the ticket section? thanks
Detect Netgear switches
Hello, We have netgear and cisco switches. IF I make a manual scan, adding some ip devices, I have seen that the cisco devices are detected with all the details related to the model. The netgear switches instead are identified as unknown. The snmp is required in both switches. Is it possible to increase the number of devices in the archive of the Opmanager? Im' using the 6 version Mulitple Probes. Let me know. THanks

Save data when changing type of monitor
Sometimes we have to change a monitor (e.g. CPU utilization) from CLI to SNMP. After this change all data for this monitor are lost. Is there a way to save the data, change monitor type and the restore the data? Regards, Volker
Standardizing Install Locations.
Why do different AdventNet applications default to different install locations? E.g. some to c:\AdventNet and others to C:\Program Files\AdventNet? It would be nice if this was standardized. David.
security timeout?
now that we have registered the software, everytime i login, look around a bit, then click on Admin tab... i have to re-login. This morning was the worst, everytime i clicked on Asset details (from service desk plus) it would ask me to re-login. very annoying... can i turn this up to say... 10 minute timeout?
Will 7 beta be upgradable when 7 final is out?
Hi, We have purchased a new server for the purpose of installing OpManager 7 and configuring all devices as best as possible with the beta version. Backup Error
I will need to move OpManager on another server in the near future. While attempting to run the BackupDB.bat I receive the following error: Please wait ! Centralizing Apache, MySQL Instances?
Am I incorrect about this or is there a separate Apache instance for each software application you have installed from AdventNet? For example, does OpUtils, ServiceDesk, and OpManager each run their own Apache instance? If so, why? Why not make it so that they centralize together. What about databases, why not better integration? Still separate databases, but one instance of MySQL instead of multiple?
Failed to establish connection with web server - Debian Etch
Hi, after the installation of OpManager 7 on Linux (Debian Etch 4.0) I get the following error while starting the service: Verifying connection with web server ... Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager. I did a quick check on the logs and I can't see anything at fault because of missing libraries or packages (as it is the case in many other posts about this topic on the forum). So neither the logs/ folder nor the apache/logs folder revealed anything interesting.

Rogue Detection Question
Can you explain the process for Rogue Detection? I was wondering why detected hosts show either unknown or learned by switches but not directly connected in the switchport field? I would think part of this is because multiple devices are on the same port (assuming a trunk port).
Config File Manager
Is there any way that you all could possibly make the option for maximizing the window when comparing config files in the config file manager. I know it's something little, but it would make it easier instead of scrolling back and forth or copying and pasting to something else. Thanks, Ashley
