Monitoring Dell Server
I would like to monitor our Dell Poweredge servers. I have downloaded the MIBs from Dell's site however I am getting an error when attempting to load up the 10892.mib file in the mib browser. It comes up with an error about a scripting problem and doesn't display any values. I have tried to upload a different version of the file but it fails. I also would like to know whether it is possible to monitor a device for a particular value. When it displays a value other than the OK value (ie a value other
MSSQL Monitors (WMI Based)
I am using opmanager 6 and trying to set up monitoring for sql server. When I select MSSQL Monitors (WMI Based) I get a page with SQL services and SQL Monitors. I ticked the parameters I want to monitor and clicked OK. I get the message 'Successfully added MSSQL services & monitors' on the top, But I can't see any monitors under Application Monitors. Now when I select Add Monitors -> MSSQL Monitors (WMI Based), all the parameters I set were there, but I can't untick them. The server I trying to monitor
Error adding Vendor Specific
I've attempted to add GE UPS monitoring to our OpManager, it doesn't appear to be working correctly. I've followed http://support.opmanager.com/sd/AddSolution.sd?solID=5702 but when coming to test, say, UPSCharge, the test window pops up with the APC UPS OID listed and then fails to read anything. Why is it still using the APC OID's?? It's set as the new GE UPS type I've created and the XML files have all the correct OID's :(
Bulk Change of Interface thresholds on VLAN interfaces
How do I change the interface thresholds on all my switch interfaces? I go into admin->interface thresholds and make the change. I get a script error after making the changes. I don't abort the script, but all the ports are not changed to the new thresholds, only some of them. None of the VLAN interfaces are changed.
Integration with SD plus
HI, I have installed opmanager 7 and now I want to integrate with SD plus. Integration guide there is a setting go to admin and in global settings I am not able to find Addon/Products... So how to move forward. YAsh
LAYER 2 unrouted VLAN traffic

Switch Port Display Name in Email Alert
Hi, I have Opmanager MSP Edition Build 6004. There are around 50 to 60 Switches configured on it and alerts also have been set for specific functions, now the issue here is that when any port goes down it sends an alert to the team with the Port Number in the mail rather than the Display Name, this becomes very nuisance for the Team to recognize. Is there any string to be set for Alerts, please let me know. Regards, Rajan Modak

Hi, We are trying to evaluate ur product for our MSP. I installed 1 probe and opmanager MSP adition 6004. I have added a windows service to monitor. I have also configured the snmp service to send trap to probe. But I am not getting any trap or Alarm in the Opmanager when I stop the service. Similarly I wanted to know is it possible to do monitor a process in Linux or Unix systems? Can we get a trap? Where can I see the snmp traps coming to opmanger?? Regards YAsh

hi. Using OpManager 7 GA with MySql I get the following message when the logon screen comes up "Oops looks like a few tables got corrupted. Don't worry.. Run RepairDB.bat from bin directory and restart the server". It was working fine for a few days after install then when I tried to logon this morning I get this error. I run RepairDB - it seems to work but I still get the same error when I restart OpManager. I shutdown Opmanager services before running repairdb. Eeekkk. thanks, Lerwick

Monitoring of LINUX servers
Hi - I have OpManager 6016 running and need to monitor some LINUX machines. I have been given the details of what to monitor but can only find hrSystemUptime in the Host Resource MIB and required monitors in other MIBs. Other monitors required are such as procStatus / diskPctUsed etc and I'm a bit stuck. Is there a MIB I should have but don't have? Was going to use Custom Monitors for these. Also - The LINUX serversa arrn't mine and the admin of the boxes is insisting snmpwalk should be used to get

sql query for group status
Hi, could someone enlighten me about the way to pull the status of the groups (Routers, Switches, Desktops...) from the database? we're looking at monitoring these statuses as "applications via app manager and i can't find the DB entries for it. in fact i can't find the group definitions at all.. i notice that a device type of "switch" is in the "switches" category, but adding my own category there's no way to configure the plurarl and all that... anything in my "Appliances" category is an "Appliances"

One of my server shows 38% availability in monthly report (June). Is there anyway to change this value because i forgot to put this server in downtime scheduler? Thanks.

NOCserver properties used to be part of opmanager msp 6 but not 7 How do i configure opmanager 7 to commnicate with the central server at a remote location. secondly i have a licence for opmanager 6. but due t difficulty in getting opmager msp 6 to work on our lan i decided to try opmanager 7. which does apper to be working. (Though like i indicated this lan has to be monitored from a remote location so it should communicate with a central server.) can i convert my license to cover the evaluation
Automated Backups for OpManager
I have a scheduled task that is supposed to run backupdb.bat every night. The task isn't closing properly because backupdb.bat ends with a "press any key to continue" prompt. Is there any way to edit this out of backupdb.bat? Thanks, Carolyn

discard alarms on all Nortel blade switches
Hi, on my trial of OpManager 7004 i've Cisco 2950's, 2960's and 3750's and they're apparently humming along just fine, but i've also 8 Nortel GbESM L2-3 blade switches, and OpManager is reporting that various ports (basically any that are in use) have 100% discard rates, which is obviously not correct. looking at the snmp if table directly one such interface has ifInOctets sitting at 24640, and ifInDiscards at 289. doing the maths this is what... 1.2%? yet OM is saying it's 100%... what gives? Fetching the IP routing table - incomplete results?
Hi, I seem to be having trouble getting the IP routing table back from my Cisco routers. I only ever seem to get back the gateway of last resort (i.e., the static default route). No other static or dynamic routes appear in the OpManager output at all. This happens with OpManager 6 and 7. many thanks, alec

Linking external databases / programs
Hello I'm evaluating OpManager 6.0 for my company. The tool looks pretty good but i couldn't find out if it's possible to get external tools to work with OpManager. We've got some self-coded Tools (PHP/MySQL, Lotus Notes) which held much information about our servers and clients. So my question(s): Is there something like a scripting interface for OpManager? Is it possible to extend it with little effort (no big programming etc.)? It would be possible to hack some scripts to sync the different databases
Cannot monitor sub interfaces
I have a Cisco 2811 with 2 ethernet and 2 serial interfaces that I am monitoring with OpManager Ver 7. The 2 ethernet interfaces and one serial are being monitored correctly however the serial interface that has sub interfaces does not seem to work. OpManager is not retrieving any stats for the sub interfaces. Is is a known bug? Please see attached. Thank you Ramzi
add/change gauges snapshot view
Hi, I'd like to change gauges and views to the main page of a device (snapshot view). For example, when clicking on a server, there are guages for CPU load, Memory load, etc. I'd also like to change the disk utilisation to diskspace c: Anyone an idea ?

OpManager 7 - problem with linking CISCO ports

Windows 2003 Domain Controller reporting 100% CPU usage?
I have a windows 2003 server, domain controller and file server which is being monitored as having 100% cpu usage all of today. I logged into the server and checked the cpu usage in performance monitor and it is no where near 100%? what would cause this?
SNMP CPU/MEMORY/DISK Space Monitors
I am trying to setup OpManager Trial version to monitor 10 servers across 2 domains. All of the servers are running either Win2003 server, or Win2k Server. All of the servers have the SNMP SERVICE running, as well as the WMI Service. However in OpManager, some of the servers dont have the BLUE star that indicates that the server is SNMP enabled. Sometimes, files get hanged at some particular directory due to few reasons. Currently, these files are being monitored manually by checking the time they stay in particular directory. So, a proposal has been made to install a Monitoring tool which can monitor these file directories and send an email notification/alert
SQL Server Agents stopping
Has anyone else had an issue where OpManager with the SQL monitor add-on has just randomly stopped the SQL Server agents? Our main SQL server keeps having this problem and it didn't start until we installed the software package. Thanks!
Backplane Utilization in OpManager 6
I can not get backplane utilization from my Cisco switches. Memory and CPU utilization works fine. When I do a Test Monitor I get the response - The Monitor did not respond to the test request. I tried using the standalone MIB browser and used the OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.8 and received a request timed out. When I use the OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.8.0 I get a response without an error. Please provide a procedure to fix this error. Thanks!
Community strings
Even though I had 3 different community strings set in my "SNMP" settings value.. every time I use a tool that requires the "Community" value.. I usually have to type in the community string for that system/device.. SNMP Ping... System Snapshot.. Can the tools simply use the default 3 snmp communities I put in for the SNMP settings value? and not always ask to input a community string??
