Hi, I have a OP-manager version 6 installation and i would like tto migrate to version 7. I have done a test went fine. Home selection on Toolbar for read-only access users
I know this has been discussed before but is there any way for OpManager users with read-only access to have a "Home" selection on the main toolbar? Why would this view not be available? It seems like a very useful feature for help desk and executive management operational overview. Also, I thought OpManager7 was going to offer the ability to select availability reporting with a daily operational time window (like 9am - 5pm /6am - 6pm by now. Monitoring Template
Hi. Is there anyway of having everything that is "usually" monitored made into some form of "template" that could then just be assigned to any new device put into the system rather than having to assisgn each individual event monitor etc to the devices? Gazman
OpmanagerServer startup problem
Hi there, My problem is: when i want to run ./StartOpManagerServer.sh i have this messages error: /var/AdventNet/ME/OpManager/apache/ssl/backup/ssl.conf: the file or directory does not exist /var/AdventNet/ME/OpManager/apache/ssl/ssl.conf does not exist i think the principal problem si when opmanagerserver start its can't find "ssl" directory, i tried generate them with ./ssl_gen.sh but i have the same problems (/var/AdventNet/ME/OpManager/apache/bin/openssl: the file or directory does not exist)

I have added the Desktop Device to the Desktop Category.when I Click the Maps-->Desktops it is Showing the message "No Infra Structure View found with this name".Can Anyone help me how to resolve that problem Thank you.
Unable to detect USB GSM Modem on OpManager
Hi, I'm trying to enable notification to be sent through SMS via a USB GSM Modem but doesn't work. The modem is detected properly by the operating system (vista) and am able to manually send and receive SMS but OpManager doesn't detect this modem. Are USB Modems not supported by OpManager or only specific modems works fine? Please suggest. Thanks and Regards, Farhaan

Unused Switch Ports
Is there an easy way to have OpManager ignore unused switchports? I get alarms on these when they aren't in use. I can click on the interface port and remove the monitor, but that is a lot of steps for a lot of ports. I wondered if there was a global configuration to ignore switch ports that aren't in use.

not getting schedule report from MSP edition
Hi, I am not getting the schedule report from OPmanager MSP edition. I have configured the schedule report for all devices availability (daily). and am able to see that report in opmanager. but its not getting deliver to my email. i have configured the mail server settings correctly. 'ports down' messages
Hi, I'm trying to remove the 'ports down' message from alerts as they go up and down so often with machines going on and off. I've disabled it in 'SNMP trap processing' but they still seem to be coming through. How can i stop these? thanks, Matt
Start probe on Ubuntu
Hi, When I try to start MSP Probe on Ubuntu typing sudo ./startdms.sh it says generate ssl certificate using ssl_gen.sh. When typing sudo ./ssl_gen.dh it gives me a failure saying, ./ssl_gen.sh: 31: Syntax error: Bad for loop variable. What am I doing wrong, can anyone tell me how to start the probe on Ubuntu?

Is iy due to Network slowness (bandwidth saturation / excessive CRC errors...) OR the Application/Database running under Unix server is slow ? Service Reponse Time reports - no data available
Hello - i'm hoping somebody can provide some assistance in regards to the reporting page in Opmanager. At the moment some of the reporting works, and others doesn't - for example the 2 Detailed reports on the Server page work, but the Health report only shows availability but everything else appears as "No Data Available" The area i'm trying to get information out of is the Services section - where all options return the "No Data Available" If i go to any of the individual servers things are displaying

Issue with Alert
We recently upgraded to Opmanager 7 from 6 and are experiencing an issue with an alert. In Opmanager 6 I set up an SNMP monitor to monitor disk space usage. The name of it was "Partition Details". I then set up an alert to notify us when a partition was 95% used. The alert would be sent out to us via email stating the server name, the partition, and the value. Now when we receive the alert all it states is that the disk is running low on space but no value for which partition. Sample of Opmanager

Network view not created
Hi, When I add a device via add device in the admin tab the info returned is device added successfully. However, the network view is not created. Also, when I try to add another device or a new device, I will get the error "Entries for the device are either partially added or removed.Click [here...] to remove and readd the device". I am using MSSQL database. I tried doing a Select * from Network and no rows are returned. I found traces of the servers (classname: IPAddress and SNMPInterface) in managedobject
Cannot Change Device Category from DomainController
I am using the free version of OpManager 7 (7025). After adding a device (Windows Server) I changed the Category from Server to DomainController. When I tried to open its SnapShot window I received this error message: "Active Directory Monitoring Add On Feature is not licensed." The SnapShot was not performed. I want to change the Category back to "Server" but there is no way to do it. If I delete the device and add it again, it is added into the Category "DomainControllers". How can I get it out

ColdStart Events
What is the difference between the following events? ColdStart : SERVERNAME.1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.1.3.1.3 ColdStart : null The events are from different servers. The ColdStart : null event seems to happen all the time on that server, but the computer is on a battery backup and is able to be pinged. Alerting for that computer is every one minute but I never get an alert that the server is down. Any idea what's going on?

Hi, Why do my snmp monitors for disk space always have the wording "Serial number xxxxx" on the end of it? Can't I just have the name of the partition and the partition name as the text? e.g. c:\ Label: OS Instead of C:\ Label: OS Serial Number 14729f0c How can I remove the Serial Number part? ???? Thanks

monitor process utilization?
as I posted before, we are currently testing opmanager against other platforms. We would like to know if opmanager can monitor how much memory and cpu a process or service is using? For example, if msword.exe usually uses 20% of the cpu and 200mb of memory, I want an alert telling me that msword.exe is now using 75% of the cpu and 500mb of memory. thanks nf

New Template monitor specific oid
Dear Support, I have created a new template and wish to add custom monitor of specifc sub-oid to the template. The selected oid (ltmPoolActiveMemberCnt) from mib browser will return 4 results but I am only interested to monitor only 1 of the sub-oid. Availability Report incorrectly showing as down
Hi, I am using ops manager build 7025, and am having problems with the availability reporting for one devices. This devices is reporting as being unavailable 100% of the time, even though it never misses a ping, shows it's interfaces as being up etc The device in question is a cisco catalyst 3750 switch, and is directly connected to the op-manager server Any help would be appreciated.
