Tech is unable to login
Hi There I have a SD tech who is unable to login. Error msg says incorrect username and password. I have tried to reset the password, and the SD application says that the password has been reset sucessfully. However the tech is still not able to login, and upon checking the System Log Viewer, I saw this error message: User:administrator trying to reset password loginName: XXXXX Module : Admin Sub Module : - Type : Error Action : Occurred At : Aug 12, 2009 11:17 AM Probable Cause : - Performed
Accounts Not in List
I am noticing an issue with the accounts after we performed the upgrade.Accounts we have created are not showing up in the list of accounts under the "all" tab, nor when you click the letter that the account begins with. However, I can search for the account by name and this works fine. I can also delete and re-create the account and it shows up fine. The problems with this is that we already have accounts with either alot of sub-accounts or alot of contacts. I have not tried renaming the account
Update from 7016 to 7504

3 databases still in system and reported being down after parent server deleted.
Hello all i have three orphaned databases in our system abandoned after the server was deleted from the monitor. Any reason why these databases might be left behind? Also any reason why they are being shown as down when they are up? All help appreciated Jamez Emanuellistien
Account Name and Email - Contact Association
I am seeing some odd behavior with accounts and the associated contacts. When I make a new account, it doesn't seem like the Unique ID for an account is just the name. I tried to make a new account in a different business unit, that had the same name as another account in the default business unit. When I tabbed down to the email field, it popped up a message asking if I wanted to use the email ID of the already created account, so I chose yes. Then hit save. Robo Task fails w/ localized AD structure
We are currently evaluating SDPlus 7.5.0 b7509 and found this issue. RoboTask can't access localized (i.e. Russian) AD objects. We have OUs and CNs in Russian, and change password task fails with: [Info] adsPath : CN=pupkin,OU=Service_users,OU=Users,OU=???????????,DC=test,DC=local [Error] ADsOpenObject failed in ResetUserPassword. Err code = 0x80072030. Err msg = There is no such object on the server. Directory object not found. [Info] Reset user password operation failed.There is no such object
No notification if contact updates unassigned request.
I just noticed that if a contact updates an unassigned request, there is no notifications sent indicating the request has been updated by the contact, nor does the support rep get any notification that the request has been updated since the creation when it is assigned to him. If an unassigned request is updated, seems to me it should fall in the same notification category as "Alert the following Support Reps by Email when a new request is created". Either that or there needs to be another notification
Availability chart shows 100% UP time, even though the device is not pingable.

Email Notifications
When attempting to customize the message template for email notifications, I am unable to save the message. It gives a message, "saving please wait..." and has hung for 30 minutes. It doesnt matter which template I am trying to customize, I get this same behavior from each one. This worked fine before the 7.5 update. I have tried this in multiple browsers and get the same problem.
Can't assign a Topic Template to a Sub-account!
I can't assign a Topic Template to a Sub-account. I need to be able to assign Topic Templates to a Sub account or at least have parent account Topic Template rights given to sub-account.
Cannot see any accounts when adding another resource
We run opmanager 6.1, Standard edition licensed for 2 administrators. We have 2 resources, with a number of accounts within each resource. Everything is working properly. I want to add a third resource. However, as soon as I add a third resource and add an account within it, suddenly none of the accounts show up in ANY of the resources that were just working fine. I click on a resource from the user tab, and nothing happens. Then I delete the resource I just added, and suddenly I can see the accounts
Ad Manager Fails to start service

Request Templates missing from latest release
Hi, I'm not sure how many revisions ago this happened - if indeed it's deliberate. But the Request Template facility is missing from 7509. Notably the "Request" image on the main page is missing the drop-down option (see attached). Is this restrictred to my particular installation?
Internet Explorer 7 crashed without error
When adding or editing new or existing requests, on using the pull-down menu "Item" the complete Internet Explorer 7 crashes without any errors. Anyone seen this also ?
Unable to send emails to some users
We are having problems with sending emails to specific users. We have created contacts and some of these contacts we cannot send emails to. We get the following error. "Exception while trying to send notification for the request." I can send them an email just fine from outlook. We have created connection exceptions for the server and recipient in exchange and it is not making a difference. We are not getting a bounce back in exchange, only in Support Center. For most users we can send just fine.
Announcement deleted after editing

Linux Probe to us free command
Hi The server is running a Linux OS and is being probed with SNMP. I receive many alerts where the server is at 97% utilization and when using the free command the free mem is 24MB but the majority of this is being used by the OS to buffer disk IO.The actual memory available is 3482MB.See below. total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 3951 3927 24 0 4 3453 -/+ buffers/cache: 469 3482 Swap:
Where did Group view go?
In the 7.0 system, we were able to see requests by group via the drop down menu. Now in 7.5, we no longer have that functionality. I've been forced to create a custom view and have people use the custom view to see things, but the ability to view by group was easier. Any one else running into this sort of trouble?

after SQL conversion Opmgr service stops
I just converted Opmgr from Mysql to SQL. After the conversion the Opmgr service doesn't start automatically. If I start it manually then try to logon to Opmgr I get 500 Internal Server error and the service stops. The conversion process seemed to go OK. However during the DB restore there were some warnings, but no errors. At the end the restore reported that it completed successfully. We're running Opmgr 8020 on Windows 2003 SP2 English. Assets problem
I'm trying to use Windows Domain Scan. After the starting the scan process I can view "Successful scan: 200" and "Failed scan: 100". But when I go to "Assets", I can see only 16 workstations detected. Is it normal? How I can fix it? Latest SP is applied...
$Description variable doesn't work in CAB notification
When a can notification is sent, we use the $Description variable to include the description of the change: However, when the email is received, no detail is included for the description, so it looks like this variable doesn't work. Communication with the Central Server is down
Hi The server that we have MSP Probe running on did an automatic restart after installing an IE7 update. Since then it is no longer working. The server is up and working, but MSP doesnt seem to start anymore. I have removed the update and restarted the server incase it was something to do with that, but still no joy. Request templates won't change request status
Version 7.5 build 7509 using MSSQL 2005. I have request templates to close common types of requests. Since the update none of my templates will change the request status. They should change to "closed". Any ideas? Thanks, Dean

Reboot after Patch Deployment
I have a scheduled scan and deploy job setup for patches. I have the job set to run off hours and force a reboot. The scan and deploy works fine, but the reboot doesn't complete. The computers are logged off and in screensaver mode at the time. They get the reboot command ok. After the deploy they start to shut down, but the shutdown does not complete until someone moves the mouse or presses a key to get out of the screen saver. Can't Rediscover interfaces
Hi everyone, We're using Opmanager 8021 and monitoring a lot of devices. All are well except for one. We have a server that has two network cards, on two different subnets. Op Manager can detect one card, but no information on it. The other is undetectable, even though the two subnets CAN communicate with each other. If I try to run the the interface tab, it immediately comes back and says " Unable to rediscover the interfaces." When I run the test credentials, both WMI and SNMP respond with "Passed".
attribute in scheduled reports
The atribute for IIS in the scheduled reports is disappear. Previous the update my report displayed the IIS connection, now the response time because the iis attribute is not in the list of possible value for the attribute. thanks renato
Unauthorized Personnel able to see requests by URL.
Problem There is a problem with contacts being able to view tickets by URL. When creating a new contact, there exists an option for them to "only view tickets assigned to them." I assume this means that they are not authorized to view anyone elses tickets. When a tiket is not assigned to them, by this logic, they cannot see other tickets, nor can they search for them. Change Calendar Issues
I have noticed an issue in the change calendar: I navigated to the change calendar, then selected "Week" to view this week. I then changed the filter to "All Changes" and the view moved forward by one month. I changed the view again, and it again moved forward by a month. I'm guessing this is a problem because it is close to the end of the month, and the system is selecting the wrong time frame to view.
Loss of Formatting
When a technician or a requestor enters information into the Description field and formats it using the built in text tools in ServiceDesk, once the request is submitted the formatting is lost (such as if you change the text to blue and bold it changes it back to black but keeps the bold.) Phantom Report
Some of our users are receiving a scheduled report email every morning from SD+. However, the email does not have the actual report (either as a spreadsheet or .pdf file) visible unless you forward the email, then it shows up. That's one issue. Solution search not working.
Hi, Im using SD 7.5 build 7509. I have populated the solutions tab with some of my own solutions, but I am finding that the search isnt picking them up even when you enter the keywords! If there is one key word then its fine like "excel" but if its like "file not found" then it will not find it even if you put that into the key words and type that into the search. I have tired different ways like putting file not found, file, not, found, "file not found", and nothing comes back. Does anyone else

OU dialog box stopped to work and scheduled tasks disappeared
Hello, Today I discovered that OU Dialogbox where we select OU for reports etc, is not working, this dialogbox appear , you can select an OU or sub OU but program is not using this selection to generate reports. I discovered all scheduled tasks disappeared and ADManager plus is not updated. It is for us a very bad things as we are using intensivly this software. Cannot move members of an AD group into a different OU
I've been trying to use the AD Mgmt / Move Users function to move the members of a Global group into a specific OU. I have tried this via CSV Import (Nothing happens once I click 'GO') and by searching for the group name ( No Results Available. Please try different Search.). One thing I have noticed is that the OU I browse to in the 'Select the container:' box does not 'stick'. i.e. although the name appears in th ebox, if I browse again, the ther is no radio button against the OU I selected.
