Dear users,

We are happy to introduce another feature that has been frequently requested and is set to be released in the upcoming release. As you may know, the product type in ServiceDesk Plus is the high-level classification used to categorize different assets in the application.

We are now introducing the ability to customize the form at the Product type level which will apply to all products within the specified Product Type. Following are the screeenshots that illustrate the same.

In the following screenshot, I have 3 Parent Product types under which child Product types are listed.

 





Here is the screenshot to customize a Product Type form. Various types of columns and additional fields are supported. Fields can be reordered and set as mandatory as needed.







When a field is added to a parent product type, it will be available in all child product types. If you want a field to be available only for a specific child product type, you can edit that child product type and add the field as required.

Note that Product Types are available under Admin > Customization > Asset Management.
