Cannot see RDS Blue Bar when remoting into computer
Many of our users that we support use RDS to remote into a server for programs. When we remote into their computers for support, the blue bar at the top does not appear. This is needed to minimize or resize the RDS window. The DC Remote banner covers the area, so I shrink it but there is no blue bar under it. If this was visible, it would eliminate the need to call the user and tell them to minimize the RDS window. Attached is the blue bar I am referring to and what it looks like now when remoting.
Dell CAPTCHA preventing warranty date fetch?
Hey, I'm just rolling out build 80354 in our business and one of the things we're eager to monitor is warranty end dates. However there seems to be an issue fetching the data. If you click the service tag, it takes you to the dell site and shows you the machine spec and ship date. However, to view the warranty end date you need to verify by entering a CAPTCHA. Is this what's preventing DC fetching the date automatically? If it is, how do we get around it? can we enter a Dell username and password
How to update installation of product
Hi all, i'm new with desktopcentral. I downloaded Software-Templates and created Configurations. But, how can I update a installation on the client? Can I take my created configuration and put the new Softwarepackage in it or create everything new? Perhaps you can tell me, where I can find this in the manual. Greets Manuel
WSUS reporting different status than Desktop Central
Hi, I have been testing Desktop Central as a replacement for WSUS. I notice that on one of our servers, DC reports no missing security updates. WSUS however, reports that KB2807986 (MS13-027) is still required for installation. The patch is definately approved in DC, and I have run the scan successfully a few times just in case. Is there something wrong with this Microsoft update? Or is the problem with WSUS.
Push Apple Apps
I’m testing MDM and so far when I distribute an App, Desktop Central send the user an email asking them to install the App. Is there a way for me to install the app without involving the user (push it to the device)? I’d like it to work similarly to the software deployment for PCs in Desktop Central.

Blocking devices other than Apple
Hello, is there anyway to block Android devices? In the UBS block setup there is for Apple devices, what setup can I use for other phones as well?
Problem in remote control connection
Dear Team, In desktop central when I am connected to users by "view desktop". On connecting I can view user desktop and can control it. I saw another option of file transfer there but on clicking it no response observed. So is there something missing?? Prashant Mangal
ME MDM Does not download or accept MDM Server Name
Hi, We have recently configured MDM for Desktop Central. I can enrol a device either by email or auto enrolment fine without any problems. The app catalogue downloads onto the phone and information is passed back to the console with no problem. When we push the ME MDM app via the App catalogue the app downloads but does not populate any of the server, port or email fields. More importantly when I try to manually enter these details I get a warning stating "Error You are not authenticated
Inactive users report has errors due to not interrogating all Domain Controllers

Error Code - Show as success
Hi, I'm setting up a configuration for a removal/install of a software. This is a 2 part process 1. Uninstall software 2. Install new software. The problem is that some machines do not have the original software, so that part of the script returns an error code "this action is only valid for products that are currently installed." error code is 1605. I would like to be able to make that error code marked as a success, and not have the system attempt a retry and eventually mark as a failure.
Turn off Deployment Polices
Okay, so we have just updated our Desktop Central to the latest build (80340) and everything is working fine, but we're not too keen on the new Deployment Policies when trying to push out updates. We were wondering if there was a way to disable that feature and push updates the way we did with your previous builds?

Bluescreen failure when USB is blocked
Hello We have 160 Windows 7 and 150 Windows 8 ( 10x Windows 8.1 ) Clients and the software deployment works very well. Now we would like to deploy the usb security on user and client sites. With Windows 7 it works good, but on Windows 8 (8.1) Clients after reboot or deploying it shows a bluescreen (sad smily) with no error message or code. Apple push service
How can I get to check if MDM will communicate on port 2195. Fire wall opened for 2195 and 2196. I can telnet into gateway.push.apple.com : 2195 and get a response from their server. However Desktop Central doesn't seem to want to communicate at all. I have run Wireshark to monitor port 2195 and there is no communication at all from Desktop Central on this port. Announcements feature - choose users across multiple domains/broadcast frequency setting
I am trying to select specific users from each of 3 domains to whom I want to broadcast an announcement. However when I select users from the 2nd domain, it deletes the users I selected from the 1st domain. Also, in the frequency section, it would be helpful to have "weekly" as an option. Right now, I have to set it for every 7 days since I send a weekly maintenance reminder on the same day/time each week. It would also be useful to be able to broadcast to a computer rather than a user.

Update Vulnerability DB fails
I had to fall back to a backup of our Desktop Central server, version 80001 (July 2012). I applied successive service packs and releases to bring it back up to version 80262, and I reapplied the new license file so that it's registered through July 2014. Unable to deploy software using delayed deployment
Hi, Build 80347. As soon as I tick "install after" and fill in a date/time I am unable to click Deploy, Deploy Immediately or Save as draft on a software deployment configuration. Dynamic groups that span over multiple remote offices
It would be nice to have an ability to create dynamic groups that can cover multiple domains/remote offices: let's say all Windows XP systems in all Remote Offices. In current version of Desktop Central it's only possible to create dynamic group within a Remote Office.
Build 80339 - Configuration save with failed targets not working
Since this update, I create a Configuration for e.g. a Software Deployment and then run it. If I then save as a new Configuration with failed targets, it doesn't populate the selected target area
An Apple push service proxy
I'll throw this one out there just to see if it is feasible. In order to save having all the problems of firewalls etc is there a possibility that one could use port 443 (or whatever port is being used to access DC) to a remotely hosted proxy which would translate the push notification to port 2195 outside of our network. I'm sure this would help a lot of people whose IT departments don't like opening up lots of holes in their security If it is possible, could ManageEngine host such a service?

UIpdating to Build 80339 breaks all my configuration
We are running DesktopCentral Build 80339 on Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit. Since updating from Build 80332 to Build 80339, all Configurations no longer work. Software Repository: Invalid location: Access is denied.
Hi Guys, I'm trying to change the software repository location to network share, but I'm getting "Invalid location: Access is denied". Network share has "Read" permission for Everyone. However, if I change Everyone permissions to Full Control then it works fine. I've even tried giving Full Control to Domain Users but still no success. Only Everyone with Full Control works fine. Hi, Can I get the text please for a query report in DTC (build 80347) to list all the active users per PC from the system/users tab in the inventory? Live Agent Status - Add to Patch Mgmt Module
Hi Support, I see the new feature which is the addition of the live agent status attached to the computer name field on the SOM page in build 80347. This is a great new function, but can I request it is also added to all the pages in the Patch Management section? Software Deployment Path Type (Desktop Central MSP 8)

error patching server
I have scanned a server and chosen to deploy updates. When trying to apply the configuration (or even add another target) I get the following error: "Exception occurred while processing the validateTarget !!!!" AD Group Configuration Deployement
Hi, As discussed earlier, I was told that if I point a configuration to an AD group, as users are added to the group they will be added to the configuration. I have to modify the configurations and hit deploy again in order for it to see the new users added to the AD group. Am I missing a setting or does it have a set time that it checks for new AD group users and the modify deploy just forces the check? Also, if I hit deploy it always says the switch is not defined for the software package. The

Clients with multiple IP's
Hi, I am having an issue with certain client machines that may have Multiple IP addresses it appears that clients that have multiple IP 's will not be managed by Desktop central server correctly scans fail, configurations do not apply disabling these additional NIC's with different subnetted IP's is not an acceptable solution as they are required for example for cluster services can you advise how i set one fo these IP addresses for the client as the primary means of comms to the server Thanks

Quick question. I have a configuration that silently installs software for all users in an AD Group. If the user already has the most current version, will it install over it? If it does, is there a way to filter it to only install on computers that don't already have the newest version? It just says success for the status. Thanks, -Ben

I have DC8 set up to mail about hardware changes made to machines, A very useful feature. DC8 Builds 80340 & 80339 send many mails about new monitors. Most of these machines are virtual but with some laptops and a desktop too. I've had 8 reports about new monitors just for my main laptop which hasn't got any external monitors attached. I'm getting 8 or so reports about monitors for each of the 16 managed machines on my testing network which amounts to quite a lot of spam. If I were to roll out Builds
Problem with checksum on Malicious Software Removal Tool v5.9 (x64)
I've tried several times to download the latest MS Malicious Software Removal Tool v5.9 (x64) through Service Desk 8 (Build 80339). It downloads and the file size looks identical to the one I downloaded manually from microsoft.com, but I always see a "checksum doesn't match" error and the patch (ID = 15105) is still showing up as "Not yet downloaded" -- is this a known bug? Is there a workaround, such as manually downloading the MRT into the proper store folder? Thanks.

False positives for two .Net 4.5.1 updates (15026 and 15028)
Win 7 + SP1 (x64) workstations. Yesterday, after applying latest MS updates using Windows Update, machines were coming up clean when scanned by Desktop Central -- all MS updates released 11 Feb (and earlier) were installed.
