How can we Disable user from installing and uninstalling software. can it be achieved in Desktop Central?
regasm Deploy silent
I have a problem with a software to distribute. normally we distribute the software silently but I need to register a library of .net with regasm, always shows us a msgbox, in which we have to double click, to register this library. When launched from the central desktop , not shown the msgbox, and never ending distribution. I tried with options of regasm / silent and / nologo but not work. Any idea to help me ?? Thanks...

Regedit after deploy of software
We have a situation of having to deploy a software add on for outlook and part of the process is to do a regedit to add a url. The only way we can figure out how to do this is push the software and then psh the reg punch. The question is, can a batch file after the software push do the full process in one attempt as we have a lot of computers to do and what would you put n the batch file. We have tried this line in a batch file with and without the /E and it does not work. Any help would be appreciated.
Configuration report
Hi, Can someone please tell me how to get a report which shows me which registry setting was applied to each user, currently this report only shows how many registry settings were applied but does not show which they were. I also tried to find an option to report on a specific registry setting configuration, but there does not appear to be one. The report I am looking for should show each user and each setting that is applied to that user something like this Username reg setting configuration
Support for IE hotfix 2991509?
I just heard about the new Microsoft hotfix to address slowdown problems in IE versions. Here's the link to the MS KB: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2991509 I've downloaded the .msu files for IE v9 x64 through IE v11 x64 and have created software deployments for them (using wusa.exe <patch> /quiet ) but wondered if Desktop Central would be providing patch scans and deployments for these hotfix versions? Openn SSL & Apache Updates
Hello, Any idea as to when in DC openSSL will be updated to 1.0.1h or later and Apache be updated to 2.4.10 or later? My security team is on my back to get both updated or they will block my DC server. I have been a paid member using DC for years and I know that it takes time to make changes and test out those changes, especially with new packages like Apache. But, if you could please try and see if your development team can push out those two updates in a more timely manner, I am sure that would

Desktop Central agent "Apply configuration" Question
Why will the desktop agent on users computers not reapply configurations when "Apply configurations" is clicked? For instance I have a shortcut configuration that puts certain shortcuts on peoples desktops. If a user would accidentally delete one of these shortcuts I could tell them to right click on the agent on the task bar and click "Apply configuration" and they would appear in a few seconds. Now they will not show up at all unless I go into the console and "Deploy" the configuration. Then

Problems with Internet Explorer not showing up in Inventory
We've been running Desktop Central 8 (80354) for about three days, and I just noticed that our Inventory - Software (and Inventory Reports) are no longer showing Internet Explorer on nearly all of our Win 7 (x64) workstations. This includes IE v9, IE v10, and IE v11 (all x64). Under Patch Mgmt, IE is still showing up as installed on workstations, so this only seems to be impacting the Inventory area. I have been working with DesktopCentral for a few months now. I am trying to automate removal of MalwareBytes from my company's computers using a custom configuration / script. I have tried all the scripts I could find via a Google search with no luck. Can a program be installed or uninstalled from DesktopCentral client computer connected via public internet?
I am able to push Windows operating system patches, but not other program installs / uninstalls, onto my company's computers working remotely (using public internet instead of secure company network). Does anyone know why this is the case? What might I be doing wrong?

MDM iOS enterprise application creation and distribution.
I have an enterprise iOS app which I have successfully created and pushed out to the app catalog on the iPhone. I used th procedure described to retrieve the BundleID and application icons. When I attempt to install the application, the following error displays on the iPhone: Unable to Download App. "Launcher_global" could not be downloaded at this time. I have successfully deployed an app store application to the phone. Any assistance appreciated.

Upgrade from DTC 8 to 9
We are currently using DTC 8 and I applied all of the patches through build 90046. When log into Desktop Central after the upgrade it still shows that I am on the original build as well as still on version 8. As of now it says I am still on build 80260. This is a screenshot of the applied patches. What am I doing wrong? This is the first time I have had to upgrade this software.

Matlab Software Deployment
I am trying to deploy software to my network computers. I have successfully deployed other software using an msi, but I am having trouble getting Matlab to deploy correctly. So to install matlab silently, I need to do this: setup.exe -inputFile C:\temp\my_installer_input.txt where the txt file contains the answers to prompts during install, how the install should go (interactive, automated or silent), etc So when I set up the package in Desktop Central, I use the following: \\DBSRVR\Share\Matlab_2012b\Matlab2012b\bin\win64\setup.exe
Prohibited software list help
I had once configured a certain software to be on the prohibited list and as such, removed automatically. We changed our mind and will now allow this software, but even though I have removed it from the prohibited list, it's still being removed within 30 seconds of being installed. I emptied the prohibited list, added that one software back and excluded it. Tried stopping and restarting the service from the ManageEngine server, but it continues to remove this application. Deleted objects in Active Directory and DC
Hi, I need some clarification on what happens in DC when an object such as a computer is deleted from Active Directory. There doesn't appear to be a function, as in SDP, where we can mark a PC as being decommissioned so I am assuming the computer will need to be deleted from the SOM. Does the computer remain in DC after deleting from Active Directory? If so is there a report of some sort I can pull showing the machines which are no longer in Active Directory but in DC?
Agent Settings for Remote computers
At the moment when you configure the Agent settings for Desktop Central, it asks you to configure the IP address only. For laptops, which are frequently outside the firewalls, I would like to have the Desktop Central Agent be able to continue to connect to the server so that they can use it to submit tickets with screen shots without having to log in to VPN. Am I missing something configureable or would this be a wish list item?

IT Security is asking me to look into a potential solution that will block all unathorized mobile devices to be pluged in (thoruhg USB) on any desktops that are on our network. Can MDM help us accomplish this? We have users with mobile devices thjat are issues and we want those to be authorized devices but we want to prevent people from plugging in personal mobile devices that have not beeen authorized to work pc's.

Remote Control Issues
Hi All, Please help as I'm starting to get really annoyed with the Remote Control facility in Desktop Central. On connecting to machines, sometimes my mouse or keyboard will not work, so even though I can see the remote screen I can't select or type anything to it. Even pressing the CTRL+ALT+DEL button will at times not work. I've tried using Chrome and IE, both the ActiveX or java plugin options, but to no avail. Am I doing something wrong and has anyone else experienced similar issues? thanks
Terminal Server performance ideas?
I tried installing this on a few terminal servers (Windows 2003) and it caused major slowdowns. Has anyone else used DesktopCentral on TS? What about terminal servers with Windows Server 2008? Is that better?

MDM Execution status - Failed
Hi I am trying to set up Desktop Central v9, MDM I have created and published a simple windows phone 8.1 policy, and associated it to the windows phone corporate group. It does not apply to my test windows 8.1 phone, and the execution status says failed, and the comment says 404 : Name I cannot see what that error is and how to fix it. Can anyone help? Thanks
Java deployment - "Error occurred while downloading the required files."
I have deployed Java 7 Update 65 (32-bit) to 239 machines in our organization. There are 150 successful and only 5 failed which doesn't concern me to much at this point. There are 32 machines that are in retry status and the majority of these machines show message " Error Occurred while downloading the required files." I have seen this message on a few other deployments as well and I am not sure if the problem is from the Desktop Central Server or the Distribution Server. Has anyone run into this
Inventory summary not up to date
Hi, I have noticed an issue over the last few days that the inventory summary will not update. I click generate summary, and it says it is successful. Unfortunately, after refreshing the error is still there. Computers still have old software in their inventory. It appears to update newly added software.
Custom Static User Group not shown in list of available target groups?
Hello, We have DC8 and I've created a Custom Static Group of users successfully and it shows in the list of Custom Groups in the Admin area where I created it, but when I am modifying my configuration and attempting to target this group and select domain\custom group\browse, my Custom Static User Group does NOT show in the list for me to select. I have done this successfully at least once, but have tried several other times and have not been able to get my Custom Group to show in the available list

Be able to set the package installation order for a configuration
When creating a configuration with multiple packages it would be great if you could set the package installation order. Some applications require additional installs of addons and bit so setting the order would be great. Another example is we use a configuration for setting up new computers, the configuration contains the packages for all of the software that will be installed on the computer but some things need to be install before other things.
