DC Support with Win 10
Hi Guys! We are planning to upgrade all Windows 7 to Windows 10 workstations hopefully this 1st quarter and am just wondering if there is a new build for DC that can support Win 10 especially in updating patches and its all important features? I have read some threads about it and I want to make it more clearly before rolling out with this new activity. Right now we are running 91070 build and we are planning to make the upgrade the soonest. Thanks, Leo
Power Managment
I've deployed a computer power management configuration to Windows 8.1/10 laptops to dim display after 30 minutes and turn display off after an hour but it appears to have set the display to turn off after a minute of being locked. The configuration appears to be correct and I can't see the setting incorrect within the profile on the devices but after the device is locked for a minute the screen goes off. Hi Trying to select remove superseded patches and notify when the space occupied.... under cleanup settings but neither settings save. Tried IE \ Firefox and chrome. Any ideas Thanks

Has anyone successfully advertised an application using Desktop Central? I advertised a JAVA Deployment and it says it succeeded but where do I go from there? Any assistance is appreciated. Junior
Tracking custom groups
I need some suggestions on tracking custom groups and patch groups. I had put in a suggestion on adding this functionality of seeing what custom groups a box belongs to but as of yet it has not materialized. So what is everyone else doing or what could the devs suggest to tackle this problem. In our enviorment we have multiple domains with dozens of patching windows with dev, Qa, Prod, different patch cycles depending on clustered resources so we literally have dozens of patch cycles and patch jobs
Ip change not updating
I have seen on a few occasion that a computer will show online in desktop central but yet scheduled task don't work. Sometimes when this happens I noticed that when I ping the computer I am getting a different IP address than what is showing. Now the quickest way I have found to fix this is a reboot. How often is the agent supposed to update the IP?
Difference between security updates
I dont understand why some office updates are included in patch management and some are not. example server 2012 according to MS windows update KB2726958 is ready to be downloaded and be deployed. However is not available in patch management as not being downloaded, not available or even declined. on the contrary KB2910941 was downloaded and installed with out error via DTC. So why do some KBs show available and some do not? I would love to patch all of office via DTC.

Differentiate between physical and virtual machines
Is there a way in patch management to differentiate between physical and virtual machines? We have a large group of developers that run Hyper-V or Vmware workstation and have VM's that are on the domain. I don't want to waste licenses on these are they are constantly destroying and rebuilding them. I need a way to build a report that gives me a list of virtual machines that are being managed. I haven't been able to find anything that will give me this. Was hoping someone has been able to find something.

DC Software Deployment Define Target
So after we updated to 91123 from 91083(?), we now can not select targets while trying to create any configurations or do any software deployments. I attached a screen shot of what I am talking about. Basically, nothing I type in the box isn't recognized and the drop down box doesn't show anything. I have already tried updating the SOM AD Information. Any help is welcome!
IE 11 push via Desktop Central
Hi all, I've been tasked with deploying Internet Explorer 11 (32-bit) to my organization. We're using Windows 7 Professional (64-bit). The reason we're using a 32-bit browser is because many of our core applications require 32-bit IE (ridiculous, I know). I've used one of the pre-packaged templates, but each time I try to push it fails (unknown error code 40015). No biggie - we can also push the 64-bit (confirmed working). However, if this is the route I need to pursue, what would be the best methodology

System Tools Disk clean up question
Hello all, I have a question regarding the system tools wizard for setting up a disk cleanup task for Windows 7 computers. Is it possible to define a disk cleanup task to do a cleanup for the windows update files? We have currently a problem on some computers, where we deploy patches with WSUS. We could solve it with manually running the Microsoft cleanup tool and the option to cleanup the windows update files. Can somebody tell me if there is an according parameter available in the system tools

Patch Scanning Question
Hey guys, So we have several laptop users who don't regularly turn the laptop on, but do at least once or twice a week. I've noticed that I don't have their patch details, because when we normally run a scan, they're frequently not on or online. So my question is this. 1) is there any way to set agents to automatically upload patch details on contact? 2) if not, what is the best practice for obtaining patch details on remote machines used infrequently, lots of scheduled tasks to scan at odd hours?

hello, I got this error when downloading a patch Patch : 101894 successfully downloaded but check sum validation failed.Ensure that Proxy/Firewall configuration does not restrict downloads from the domain http://download.microsoft.com. this is the only patch that failed to download and I can get to the site with with out error

Custom Script in Version 91122
Hi, after updating to the newest version (91122) it is not possible to select a computer or computer group for a custom script. The choice of type for the target is greyed out and limited to Remote Office or Domain (see screenshot). I am using firefox (newest version) with windows 10. Any ideas? Thanks, Juergen
Patch Automation Issues
So we've been using desktop central for patch deployment for a couple months now, and everything works manually. We tried setting up some automated tasks to scan, download, and deploy last weekend, and unfortunately had very little success. I have a few questions if anyone can answer. KB2644615 wsus vs DC
I see a lot of patches that WSUS says are not applicable, but Desktop Central shows them as needed. For instance KB2644615 When I look on WSUS it shows it set to approved / install, but lists it as Not Applicable. (this is for Server 2008 R2 w/SP1) Desktop Central shows it as missing. When I look at MS12-001 https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/ms12-001 it looks to me like it applies to the OS, but since I don't have MS Visual C++ .Net 2003 installed on the server I shouldn't need it. I am demoing ServiceDeskPlus and successfully integrated it to DesktopCentral. However, it took away the top tabs in DC. I removed the integration but the tabs have not been restored. How do I bring them back?
Need Some Help Deploying a Specific Update
Hello all! I am having a bit of an issue and I am at my wits end with it. I am not sure if my problem is being caused by ManageEngine or if it is being caused by the program that I am trying to update. Anyway, here is the issue. New define target
I noticed that in build 91120 you have changed how the define target works. While I like that it does not default to the first remote office now, it would be helpful if under apply to specific target that it would default to computer and not custom group. Or have the option to set what default I need.

How to tell Setup to prompt for a reboot?
Hello, I was wondering how I can prompt for a reboot via Desktop Central after Software Deployment or any other steps? Server wont start after upgrade to 91112
I performed an update to 91112 and then it was for every 'Starting' a few reboot didn't resolve. uninstalled, reinstalled old version 90170 and restored backup. now doesn't start as 'Previous Patch not applied properly' shouldn't the Backup not had this flag set before it performed a Backup? Time incorrect
Hi The time on our DC9 server is exactly 12 hours behind. So times are reading AM instead of PM and vice versa I've been through the steps found in a previous post : https://forums.manageengine.com/topic/time-incorrect-in-desktop-central Running the jar file shows timezones match on each change\restart of the service , but still time stamps in the server console are 12 hours out. Pre-Deployment Custom Script Question
I have a configuration setup to run a script (.vbs file) and then install an application if the script is successful and the exit code is 0. However, if the script fails and the exit code is not 0 the deployment assumes that it failed when really I want it to consider that the installation is not necessary and to skip deployment and report it as such. Is there any way to do this currently? If not, I would like to suggest that there be an option to change "Proceed if exit code is ___" to "Skip installation
Office 2007 Security update MS15-099
I'm relatively new to Desktop Central, but I found that this security update for Office 2007 seems to be missing from the database, either that or I'm looking in the wrong place, One way or another when I run Windows update on my Windows 7 machine it is reported as being needed, but DT Central sees my machine as up-to-date.
