Patch Automation Issues

Patch Automation Issues

So we've been using desktop central for patch deployment for a couple months now, and everything works manually.  We tried setting up some automated tasks to scan, download, and deploy last weekend, and unfortunately had very little success.  I have a few questions if anyone can answer.

A brief description

We had 3 scheduled patch scan/download/deploy tasks set to go off Saturday morning for different custom groups.

They initiated, however it didn't actually patch the machines, it acted like it got all the way to the point where the machines should start installing the updates but didn't, just hung there waiting.  We ended up having to cancel them later and push them out manually, which worked, but we ideally don't want to do it manually.

We also had a scheduled restart task that didn't go off either, also had to kick that off manually.

Any ideas on what could be causing these problems?  I'm actually trying a test today on one machine scheduling a patch task, and it's past scheduled time and the current status is still "scheduled", it should have started by now.

We do have scheduled patch just scanning tasks at different times throughout the day when our remote offices get in to update their status, but none active during this test and I have them suspended during the weekend when the patch task automation should run just incase that would interfere.

Any place I should start looking to try and fix this issue and get the automation running correctly?
