Is it nor poosible to install Agent and point to a manageserver?
I'm going crazy! What is the idea with the way the agent is deployed? Why can't I just download it, install and configure witch management server it is supposed to report to from the client? I have computers that are never on local network, always on WAN, not in a domain... How do I deploy to those?

Deployment Failed report in DC
Is there a way to do an query to list the Computer Name, Remote office and each instance of Deployment failed that is unresolved in DC for each PC that has the Deployment Failed result? We have 215 out of 1580 PCs that are reporting Deployment failed. Of these, 165 have checked in during Sept and Oct 2016. Some of these represent PCs that need attention, others are network interruptions or minor software updates that do not require immediate attention. I have not found a way to export the details
User cancelled installation - deployment error
Hi, I’m hoping someone here might be able to help me. I’m trying to push down some software via Desktop Central onto a laptop but no matter what combination I try it keeps failing with "User cancelled the installation" I have tried pushing this via a computer target and also via a user target with using admin credentials and still this fails. No pop ups appear on the screen, I have run the software via CMD on the machine and this works with no issues. Yet via desktop central this doesn’t work using
Post-Deployment commands are not executed correctly when setup run as "System" user
Lately I have had huge troubles with post-deployment activities. I.E. I install Firefox: In the Post-Deployment I need a batch file to be executed with following content: xcopy "\\my-share\DCSWRepository\Firefox\Tools-Configs\Proxy\local-settings.js" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\" /C /H /Y /Z This command is not executed/the file is not copied to the client machine. When I open a CMD as administrator and then run the batchfile, there is no problem, the files are copied immediately!
Is There a Wildcard Function for IP Range in Custom Groups
Good Afternoon, I'm looking to create a custom group that spans the same devices in multiple sites. For example, 172.16.51.100-200, 172.16.60.100-200, 172.16.67.100-200, etc. There are around 30 sites (denoted by the 3rd octet) that I would like this group to span, is there any way to wildcard the search field like this: 172.16.*.100-200? I'd just appreciate being able to do this rather than add 30 lines to the group. Thanks, Josh

Hi, The C:\ManageEngine\DesktopCentral_Server folder on my server has grown to about 9GB. There's some subfolders and single files there related to patches that have been applied to the Desktop Central application itself, not to be confused with "patch management" for applying patches to client machines. I setup a Remote Desktop Connection shortcut and pushed the shortcut to a test machine, but I am not able to figure out how to add the server name to the config. Is it possible to add the name or am I doing something wrong? Thank You, Ed
MDM Geo Tracking always out of date
Hi, have enabled this on a few phones but when I go the geo-tracking page the location shown is always showing a random location from a long time before. Quite often the day before. Using the google account on the same phone shows the location regularly update locations. Thanks Chris

I am testing this software. Is there a way in Desktop Central to simply copy files from one network share to a networked computer? I know we can create software packages and distribute software, but is there a way to simply transfer actual files? Thanks Darren

DC Backup - No Idle Connection Found
Is there a way to gracefully stop a backup procedure? I started a manual backup using backuprestore.bat about 5 hours ago. I came back from a meeting and it was still going. I checked the backuplog0.txt file and found multiple entries of the following. The last 4 lines stating "No idle connection found" is listed multiple times. And direction would be helpful. I am already able to generate Windows Updates reports. So that's a good start. What I'd like to be able to do is report Windows Update Status for each computer. Is that possible? Patch Management - VLC Media Player download issues
I'm having issues downloading VLC Media player. It gives me a "Premature EOF encountered" error every time I try and download it.
md5 checksum on download page
I have big problems with downloading the file ManageEngine_DesktopCentral_64bit.exe. The file is often defective. When I download the file several times, it has always another md5 checksum. Only when I invite them over my rented vServer (CentOS7), the checksums are identical. Is it possible that on the download page https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/download.html or under http://archives.manageengine.com/ an md5 or sha1 checksum is indicated? It could be used to verify the files
Dell Warranty scan
I noticed with the latest update 92099 the Dell warranty scan was fixed. Upon checking a handful of computers, pressing the Scan Now button for expiry date does change the values that were previously in there. Is there a way to do this for all computers? I would have thought the inventory scan would take care of this but it doesn't appear so.

Hi I found inventory trouble since 92099 installed Like No reporting to "Patch Management" after patch applied. For example: 304124 - Update for Mozilla Firefox (49.0.1) - Missing systems = 381 I can see most of machines already applied (The operation completed successfully.) I seem to be having an issue with DC 9.2.0 Build No 92041 correctly detecting the default printer on user workstations. I have rescanned machines and the results have not changed. This throws off the accuracy of my printer-related reporting. Does anyone else have this issue?

I want to try the new Inventory file scan. But before I do I had a few concerns. How long would this take as in per pc compared to standard inventory scan? User Software Configuration - Same User on Multiple Devices
Hi Everyone I have 200 workstations. All are on a workgroup and use local user accounts. All user accounts have the same name. How can I deploy a User Software Configuration to a user called 'Standard User' - but on all 200 machines? I have found that the configuration will only deploy to the 1st machine that the agent reports that user logged onto.

How To Repair a Client Agent Installation?
Sometimes there are computers where agent is installed but it's not anymore communicating properly with the Desktop Central server. Is there something that can be done to heal the agent so that it would re-connect to server or is the agent remove / install only option?

How to self enroll andorid device with out AD authenication
I am currently testing the MDM and was wondering how I could enroll an android device with out using AD or sending an email to the user. My goal would be have an admin or who ever is setting up the phone for the user do the enrollment but if that person enrolls it under their ad login then it would be tied to their login. Deployments using wrong deployment policy
Desktop Central MSP Build No:92082 When I deploy software to some customers I'm getting wrong deployment policy. I have configured that the deployment uses "DC Default Policy" but it still uses another policy that is available but I certainly have not selected that. I tried to re-create the deployment but it won't change.

Hi There, I have been trying to update from 92077 to 92082 and then 92099. Each time the update manager ran it would warn about making sure the Virus scan was excluding the directory.
