md5 checksum on download page
I have big problems with downloading the file ManageEngine_DesktopCentral_64bit.exe. The file is often defective. When I download the file several times, it has always another md5 checksum. Only when I invite them over my rented vServer (CentOS7), the checksums are identical. Is it possible that on the download page https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/download.html or under http://archives.manageengine.com/ an md5 or sha1 checksum is indicated? It could be used to verify the files
Dell Warranty scan
I noticed with the latest update 92099 the Dell warranty scan was fixed. Upon checking a handful of computers, pressing the Scan Now button for expiry date does change the values that were previously in there. Is there a way to do this for all computers? I would have thought the inventory scan would take care of this but it doesn't appear so.

Patch Inventory since 92099
Hi I found inventory trouble since 92099 installed Like No reporting to "Patch Management" after patch applied. For example: 304124 - Update for Mozilla Firefox (49.0.1) - Missing systems = 381 I can see most of machines already applied (The operation completed successfully.) If I drop down to missing systems It's not required If I go to specific machine. Second day - results not changed. When this results must be updated? Dmitry

Default Printer
I seem to be having an issue with DC 9.2.0 Build No 92041 correctly detecting the default printer on user workstations. I have rescanned machines and the results have not changed. This throws off the accuracy of my printer-related reporting. Does anyone else have this issue?

I want to try the new Inventory file scan. But before I do I had a few concerns. How long would this take as in per pc compared to standard inventory scan? Does this use any more resources than a the standard inventory scan? Is there any way to test this on either one or a small group of pc first instead of scheduling this task to run.
User Software Configuration - Same User on Multiple Devices
Hi Everyone I have 200 workstations. All are on a workgroup and use local user accounts. All user accounts have the same name. How can I deploy a User Software Configuration to a user called 'Standard User' - but on all 200 machines? I have found that the configuration will only deploy to the 1st machine that the agent reports that user logged onto.

How To Repair a Client Agent Installation?
Sometimes there are computers where agent is installed but it's not anymore communicating properly with the Desktop Central server. Is there something that can be done to heal the agent so that it would re-connect to server or is the agent remove / install only option?

How to self enroll andorid device with out AD authenication
I am currently testing the MDM and was wondering how I could enroll an android device with out using AD or sending an email to the user. My goal would be have an admin or who ever is setting up the phone for the user do the enrollment but if that person enrolls it under their ad login then it would be tied to their login. I dont want to the phone being tied to the user setting it up. Is there a way to enroll a device without a login?

Deployments using wrong deployment policy
Desktop Central MSP Build No:92082 When I deploy software to some customers I'm getting wrong deployment policy. I have configured that the deployment uses "DC Default Policy" but it still uses another policy that is available but I certainly have not selected that. I tried to re-create the deployment but it won't change.

Hi There, I have been trying to update from 92077 to 92082 and then 92099. Each time the update manager ran it would warn about making sure the Virus scan was excluding the directory. Desktop Central MSP (92082) and multiple computers sharing the same name
How Desktop Central reacts when there are multiple computers sharing the same name under same customer? Sometimes we have a situation where computer will be replaced and it will use the same name as the old computer. Both are having DC agent online at the same time for some time. We have seen a situation with older versions of DC MSP where this will mess up inventory data, remote connections etc. Removal also causes both agents to stop working.
Prohibit all versions of a software package?
I am trying to block all versions of Java. Is there a way to create a blanket prohibition on Java, regardless of version and build number? For example, in my current inventory, I see only Java 8, release 101 so I put it on the prohibited listed. Cannot delete old software packages
Error message is: Package cannot be deleted. MSU Deployment
So I did the usual patch Tuesday (Aug 9) get them out there and came across something yesterday (Sep 8th) KB3177725 is not perfect, it breaks multi document printing (released Aug 9th) KB3187022 fixes the usual MS screw ups (released Aug 23rd) Oh lucky me, the fix is an MSU not an MSI, so now I have to go around and manually patch 60+ workstations Can we not have a tutorial on how we can deploy MSU's through the DC / Software Deployment ??? Impact of deleting a unique static group
Good morning, Wanting to modify some custom groups, I hit the delete button for a unique static group but was then presented with an impact window stating "Packages that are published will be revoked". Can anyone tell me what this will have as exact impact? Will it just remove packages from the Self-Service Portal that are published for this group or will it actually uninstall software packages that were deployed with this unique static group as target? I am installing Desktop Central 9 SP2 (upgrading from 9.1.113 to 9.2.0). It is stuck upgrading PostgreSQL from 9.2.9 to 9.4.4 at 50% completed. It has been at 50% completed for over 6 hours. When hovering the mouse over the Installation Status window, the mouse pointer spins. The system is using almost no CPU activity and more than half the physical memory is available. SOM Summary Removed Computers
I noticed that when ever we have removed a computer from the SOM that unless the computer is also removed the Active Directory the SOM Summary page does not remove the computers from the removed computers dashboard list. Is there anyway of making it so that it only stays on this list for a certain amount time after being removed?

I am running Service Desk and Desktop Central on the same Server. I have the following ports configured: Desktop Central 8020 and 8383 Service Desk 8443 When I start Desktop Central up first I can't start SErvice Desk as Desktop Central takes port 8443 If I start Service Desk first then Desktop central taskes port 8383 I have also noticed when I do a NETSTAT /o that Desktop Central listense on port 8019 and no 8020 but you can connect to it using 8020 CONFUSED! Hey, Our company wants to roll out an minimal level of security for desktops, laptops and other devices. One part is the default setting to encrypt harddisks. Can i verify within Desktopcentral that the machines have encryption enabled? Right now i can not find it. Hope to hear from somebody.
