Any way to test for Java availability before pushing update?
We're trying to update our multiple Java 7 versions in a single job but the pre-deployment task doesn't seems to be able to handle wildcard or partial software name match like "Java 7 update". Our goal is to update all of our current Java 7 installation (v10 to V72) to the latest version (v75) but we also want to avoid deploying Java 7 on computers that don't already have it. Is there a way to achieve that? We have to do this on both XP and Windows 7 x64 computers.
"Software Uninstall Successfully" hangs
I am evaluating Desktop Central 9 and did couple of regular tasks including software uninstallation. I tried to uninstall "Adobe Reader 7.0.8" from 5 machines and after a long time now status is still showing "Uninstall Initiated Successfully". I re-scanned them and Adobe Reader is still there. Any idea what it might be or what I did wrong?

DC Agent Issues with Panasonic Tablets and Dock
We are having consistent issues after deploying the Desktop Central agent to some of our machines. We support public safety officials that use Panasonic FZ-G1 (mk1) ruggedized tablet devices. These users have docks in their vehicles and on their desks. When docking or undocking the tablet they are losing keyboard input. At My Wits End with Desktop Central - Cannot Package and Deploy Software

Current iTunes package for Desktop Central Self Server Portal is broken
Last night I created a package using the most current DS template for iTunes (12.6.0.95) (x64). The package was created successfully and was added to the Self Server portal on the desktop successfully. When I went to install on a desktop this morning - I hit an error right away via the Portal stating that a file could not be found. Word found unreadable content - message appears for every single word document
A user in our business has reported that every word doc he has gives the same error when he tries to open, some docs are over 4 years old, some are only a week old. There is this setting in deployment policies: Download Patches/Software during subsequent Refresh Cycle How this should work? When I configure this with software deployment it it never downloads anything before the actual deployment starts.

Uninstall Microsoft Project & Visio Silently?
So this would assume to be super simple.. Silently Uninstall Visio Pro/Premium & Project Professional 2010. Until i try to do it from Desktop Central. The standard Uninstall button doesn't work. Silent Agent Deploy via Script
I'm look for some help creating a script to install the desktop central agent. The script will run as part of the Windows Deployment Toolkit task sequence once after the reference image has been applied so it will not be generalized. How to disable "New software is Available" notification?
I need to sometimes use "Allow User to interact with the installation/uninstallation Windows setting" when deploying software to computers. Desktop Central Remote Office Syncronization kills WAN
I see in scope of management I can reduce the default synchronization speed for each individual remote site. That's nice. but why does it try to sync all at the same time to all the remote sites. it kills my WAN, there has got to be a way to fix this m isn't there ?
Error in PowerShell Deployment Script
Hi In Software Deployment \ Templates there is a deployment for Microsoft PowerShell for Windows 7 SP1 (x86). The VB script to deploy has a couple of typo's that cause the target to reboot immediately after installation. There are two lines that have "/NORESTAR" . The letter T needs adding to the end for it to work as expected. As a side question, is it possible to detect what PS version is installed? Computer\Software Inventory doesn't list it. Thanks Mark

The software requires files to be copied to the root of all existing user folder's and to the root of all new users that would login. here is the folder path: C:\Users\<local user name>\Unisys\WebEnabler. Can DC be used to deploy manually downloaded patches to machines in the LAN? I have a network that can't and won't touch the internet. Win7/2008r2 machines I have successfully remote installed agents on all machines. Modify Configuration Re-Deploys already installed software?
When we setup a configuration, say called "Base Software" and we add a whole site to it along with a list of packages it works great to get them all installed. But, if we make a change to that configuration i.e. adding or removing a package desktop central is re-installing every package completely which is very undesirable. Is this by design? Can we not use the configuration as we visioned, "Base Software" that automatically gets applied when a new PC enters the site (the scope of the configuration).

Cannot delete software package
During the short time where the Pro version was allowed to have the self-service portal, I had added some packages to the portal for easier software installation. Now I am running 92029 Pro and I don't have the option to manage the Self-Serve Portal. However, I want to delete some of the older packages linked to the portal still somehow. When I attempt to delete, it says Package cannot be deleted. It is published for the following groups : All Computers Group.

IE 11 push via Desktop Central
Hi all, I've been tasked with deploying Internet Explorer 11 (32-bit) to my organization. We're using Windows 7 Professional (64-bit). The reason we're using a 32-bit browser is because many of our core applications require 32-bit IE (ridiculous, I know). I've used one of the pre-packaged templates, but each time I try to push it fails (unknown error code 40015). No biggie - we can also push the 64-bit (confirmed working). Installing/Upgrading AVG Business Edition
We are looking at upgrading our AVG Business to a new version. There is a script file and a .BAT file that the server creates with all the settings. I am having a problem running the .BAT in the Software Deployment screen. Deploying a windows Hot Fix
I am trying to deploy a windows hot fix and running into some errors. Was hoping you might be able to tell me where i am going wrong. hot fix is KB973148 I downloaded and extracted the hot fix into a software package. Then i set up my deploy configuration And deployed immediately to one device. the job fails with a generic error code. We have deployed several hot fixes this way so not sure where i messed up or if there was a better way to deploy a hot fix. Sure wish i could do it in patching.
