Unable to scan Linux clients: "Data storage error occurred while populating asset data"
Hello, I have Desktop Central 10.0.310 free edition managing 25 computers (11 x Windows 10 Pro, rest Ubuntu 18.04LTS). I can monitor the Windows computers fully, but I am unable to scan the Linux hosts: ""Data storage error occurred while populating asset data" Ports on the servers are open, no firewall is on the clients: all machines are in an Active Directory domain; agents are installed, credentials are correct. Report for all agent currently online
Is there a report to show all current agent that are online or have been online at all during a given day. Or even show all agent that have been active within 24hours. and show what Active directory Ou location they are in. I was able to filter live agent in SOM but the only way i was able to show OU location was to add a custom field and then manually input the value. Is there a way to populate this custom field automatically?
The 'Fix Now' button when logging into the web console
With version 10.0.310 installed there is a 'Fix Now' button when logging into Desktop Central web console. I have been unable to find any information on what this is actually doing. Is there somewhere that has the information? Is this a security fix or a bug fix? Cheers, James
DC Agent - GPO Install Not Working
Hi, I'm trying to install the Desktop Central Agent via GPO but it's not working. I have followed these instructions: https://www.manageengine.co.uk/desktop-management-msp/agent_installation_windows_gpo_msp.html The files are all in the same folder on my network share and the VBS file is also in the Sysvol folder. The computers have permissions to the network share. In the install log on the client, the last line says 'MainEngineThread is returning 2'. Event Viewer doesn't tell me much either Any
Report for any version of software
I want to run a software report to show all pc with specific software. I can use the current inventory report computers w/without software but one of the software I want to report on shows multiple versions. The software name is ICQ. I want to show what computers have this on it regardless of the version. But the problem is that right now if I want to do this I would have to select over 11 versions of the software wich the way the reporting is designed means I have to keep adding additional criteria
How to import image?
We have previously created an OSDI image on DC but needed to recreate the repository - how can I import this image back into DC? I have copied it into the new repository but it's not being detected. Many thanks
Unable to upgrade from 273 to any new version
Hi, I'm unable to upgrade our 273 version to 310 (or 290). I had no issues with previous upgrades. Is it possible to use two desktop central servers with the same agent?
I currently have a 50 device licensed ME DC server on-prem. But I would like to have backup DC server on a remote server so I can still connect to some important clients when the on-prem server containing ME DC is down. ME DC provides a free license up to a certain number of clients and that would be a solution for my situation. But will it also use the same agents on the devices or install a new one on each one I add to to the backup ME DC server too? Is it possible to make this work?
Software Metering
I have added 2 different applications to the software metering. I can't get the metering to report. I have removed and re-added the rules for each of the software apps. I verified the Original File name is correct. Also these are software packages that I have manually added the packages to Desktop Central. I would't think that would make any difference but I don't know. Why would these software packages not report?
Unable to reach the Domain! Toshiba 91043
I just installed 91043 and in the inventory tab I now get the notice Unable to reach domain!, when i click on the details it shows it's http://support.toshiba.com. I can reach the website via broswer from the DC server, i've tried the "try connecting now" button multiple times now luck. any suggestions on how to get rid of this. thanks
Forwarding Server install and what needs to be changed?
So currently we have DC server that has been working well, and works for what we need, but there are a dozen people who coming in and out of the local office. I am not sure what settings need to be changed on our current server for me to install the Forwarding server. Do I need to change the .local server to the full dc.domain.com (thats the name I plan on using for outside network) I do not have the .COM DC server inhouse so I cant make a .COM change on the inside, only for the outside network.
DS setup to manage a private scope?
Is it possible to set up a distribution server to manage a private network that cannot see the main desktop central server? I tried adding an additional scope to a remote site, but didn't have any luck communicating a host I manually installed the agent on. Thanks.

I see this question has been asked a couple of times. But I did not seem to be able to find any answer. I would like to have certain configurations run first when a user logs on. Basically prioritize them before any other configuration is run. Is this possible ? Thanks

i updated from 10.0.283 to 10.0.297. After the update the web UI is incredibly slow. ive tried a couple service restarts, server restarts. Anyone else experience this ?

Desktop Central fails to scan Ubuntu 18:04.1 LTS
Hello, we have a bunch of Linux workstations that we recently reinstalled replacing Linux Mint with Ubuntu Bionic Beaver. Their Desktop Central Agent was also reinstalled but with the exception of one machine, I am now unable to obtain system scans. I can scan the Window clients, and if I check the logs on the Ubuntu machines it looks like the scans are actually being performed, but for some reason do not get posted to the server. Do you think to add others asset management (printers through snmp) and other devices/assets to follow them in same console (i see asset explorer exists) but it"s in other/external software. main console to manage all (with options) would be better thansks

Software Removal
I was tasked with removing Larson VizEx Reader from 41 machines. I did some research and found the uninstall string which I used to remove the software with Desktop Central. So far I have only had a couple of failures which were related to the OS being 32 bit. The problem is the configs are successful but when I run my custom report it still shows all 41 machines listed as having the software installed. I have tried changing some of the criteria on the report. Rebooting the server just in case the
How to get emails sent using FQDN instead of hostname?
In the generated emails, the links back to the server are listed as https://hostname:8383 but we'd prefer them to be https://hostname.domain.tld:8383 Where can we change this? The cert in use needs the FQDN to be valid.

We are trying to put our entire Desktop Central Infrastructure in AWS (currently on prem). I have manually built the DC server and a remote office in a different availability zone. Manage desktop central console over WAN, secure gateway configured
Hi all, We just purchased Desktop Central to replace SCCM, third party software patching system and our bomgar account. I successfully have DC agents and MDM agents communication from internet through secure gateway to or DC server. How do I make it so my IT team can use the DC Console to manage desktops? I also would like them to be able to use the Android/iOS app. When I try to access the console from a remote connection, it hits the sender however we just get a white screen in the browser.

Cannot activate new license for MSP
Hello, I am trying to activate the license sent to us for the MSP version. However, I just get an error message (see attached). I've tried opening a support case unsuccessfully as well. This has been an ongoing issue for some time now.

Server will not start
Performed update to Desktop Central following the instructions (updated to 10_0_0_SP-258). Was warned that it could not continue because services were still running. I had stopped the services, but decided to close the install and figured I would try again later. Tried to start Desktop Central. It will not start. It either starts, then stops. I start vacation in three hours. I need to fix this before I go... Suggestions? I rebooted the server and the service did start again. But I am nervous about

Configuration results display Failure - Reports show successful
Setup a configuration to upgrade windows 10 with the "Windows 10 Deployment 1709". I followed the steps on the knowledge base article to deploy the 1709 Update. The problem is I setup a config to deploy to our South Dakota location. I ran a report to find all the Windows 10 OS versions which I downloaded and saved. Deleting declined patches
We decline Unrated and Low patches. They keep showing up in reports as missing. How can I completely get rid of the declined patches? Thanks! Becky
