Updates and Patched during work hours
Hi all, We are new to Desktop Central and have noticed a troubling trend. We have the policy to apply updates after hours, yet we have users with surfaces and laptops that refuse to leave them on and in the office over-night. What do you guys recommend to get these machines updated?

Query report for hardware information
Hi, I'm trying to run a report in DC to get me some information. I can't see any default reports that give me that information so I'm wondering if it's possible to do it from a query report. I've tried searching the forums and doing a couple of similar requests. However I can't quite get the desired result. The system is running in postgressql and I'd like the following details. Machine name. System type (eg 32 or 64bit) Memory CPU model CPU speed Many Thanks!

Any one else having issues with this - says it missing but fails to install. If I run it manually says it is not required. ME support have told me they have fixed it but it still isn't working

We have a problem with some of our users leaving their computers on for several days/weeks at a time. Is there a was to get an alert when a computer has been up for more then a certain amount of time?
Desktop Central MSP 10.0.218 Agent install
Hi, I am trying to push the agent to PC's using the new Scope of Management feature. As we moved from the non MSP version to MSP, some of the PC's still have the old agent installed. Will the SoM install remove the old version or will that have to be done manually? Thanks Tim
Agent slowing down computers?
Is anyone else noticing this? I have a few people that have complained of intermittent freezing. When I check DesktopCentral, the last contact time is usually right around the time they were experiencing the freezing.

Hi, cloud it be, that DC has a problem with the detection of the OS "Windows 10 Pro for Workstations"? On our new Dell Precision Workstation "Windows 10 Pro for Workstations" is shown as "Windows 10 Beta (x64)" in the System Details.
kb4284819 shown as missing with error but it is installed on the workstations
Hi, on all windows 10 workstation the kb4284819 is shown as missing and the deployment status is failed "Unknown Error. Code : -2145124329" But if I look at the workstation the patch is installed. Anyone else have this problem? Bye, Alf

Hello, Is there a way to create a custom report that looks through the event logs of a bunch of computer to extract a spectific event? My use case would be : I know that some users tends to hardshutdown their computer and I would like to monitor if it happened the last 14 days by looking for the event 6008 (unexpected shutdown) of the system event log (Windows). How Can Change Agent Server Name?
Hello there, I set up the server with desktop.xxx.com name. I then created a dns record with the name mypassword.xxx.com as cname. I opened this server out of port 443. When I do the troubleshooting, it connects without any problems inside, but when I test it out, it searches for desktop.xxx.com. How can I change this part as shown in the attached picture
TFTP
We have been trying to use the new OS deployment module in Desktop Central but this feature requires TFTP and port 69 which is not allowed by our security policy. Would there be any alternative to to this in DC. Many thanks

Hello, I have a series of Linux pcs recently installed with Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic Beaver. They are on a samba-based AD domain. Some of these machines used to have Linux Mint before being reinstalled, and the inventory scans were running fine. The Linux Desktop Central Agent agent is correctly installed and configured to point at the Desktop Central on-premises server. The server has the needed ports opened on the firewall and can see the machines, but is unable to perform an inventory scan. Our Windows
Agent is Offline on Windows 10
Build version is 10.0.56 . Most of the win 10 os are always offline even though we installed agent properly. But the other os such as win 7 and 8.1 are working well.if we reinstall it , it can be seen online for few hours.A few hours later , it's offline again .
summary report on installed commercial software
I'm just looking for a report that displays in matrix style on the y-axis, a list of workstations/laptops names, users, groups. On the x-axis, a list of all the commercial installed applications with installation count per workstation/laptop with a sum on the bottom. I have at least 3 customers asking for this report. Deploying a network printer and set it as default
So I have been able to use the IP Printer configuration option to add a network printer to a user/computer, and a custom script configuration to set the printer as the default. I want these to run automatically when a user logs into a shared PC. My question is, how to ensure the IP Printer configuration is applied before the script to set the printer as the default?

An error message is generated when I try to connect using the Desktop Central MSP mobile app on my Android device. Put back "Next Run" column for Automated Patch Deployment
The "Next Run" column has to be put back in the dashboard for Automated Patch Deployment. I've created tickets about this that have been ignored. It was removed when the patch deployment schedule was changed. This is unbelievably inconvenient. Hello forum! I have an issue were DesktopCentral won't pick up certain software. Is there any way to add this software to the "Software" list on DC as like "User Added Programs" or something? missing patches - build 1709 and 1803
Hi, DC display the OS version 10.0.17134 for my computer. I can see in "Security" - "Missing patches" these patches: Windows10.0-kb4103729-x64-1709.msu; Windows10.0-kb4103727-x64-1709.msu; 1803_x64.exePatch; Windows10.0-kb4131372-x64-1709.msu My Question: I have the version 10.0.17134 (Version 1803). MS Intel Microcode Update - KB4090007
Is this in the works to be added to the patch DB in DCentral? Microsoft has had it out for a while now and they are adding to it whenever Intel adds updates. Our patch DB is sync'd and up to date but i don't see this anywhere. Or are we going to need to add it manually?

Configure a Scheduled Task as current domain user
Hello. I'm trying to deploy a Task Scheduler entry that will run as whatever current user is on the system deployed to. i.e. if I deploy to PC TEST01 and Dan Mulcahy is logged in there, the task will run as Dan Mulcahy's domain account. It needs to be dynamic as I would want to deploy to 60+ PCs on the domain. If I deploy the Task now, it can deploy OK when set to run as the SYSTEM user but this will not run properly on the PC itself. If I manually update the Task on the PC to run as a domain user,

Hello, I would like to ask when creating automatic updates deployment and I choose deployment hours or pick predefined deployment policy, is it executed regarding desktop central server time, or it is executed according to the desktop/laptops local time zone and clock? This is important as I need to patch several desktops in different time zones. Thank you very much.
Desktop Central Automatically Moving Configuration to Trash
An automated task is running at 5AM resulting in configurations being deleted by "DC-System-User" This is undesired, as these configurations are targeted to AD groups, which deploy software and/or configurations dynamically as objects are added to those groups in AD. These configurations need to remain active, and currently I have to check the trash to find what else got deleted today, then save it as new since there is no option to undelete from trash.

I am test driving the Desktop Central system on a couple of machines, and i note that the popup notification comes up a great deal. How can I turn this off?
Is there a way to stop automatic updates for particular machines?
We have a few wallboards that a cell centre use for statistics. However, when the ManageEngine popups come up, asking to restart for updates, it blocks an important part of the wallboard. Is there a way to install updates say once a fortnight, or stop the popup altogether for these particular wallboards? We would like to avoid placing these machines into a separate OU and applying different update schedules to that OU.
File Scanning not working
Hi, I am currently in trial of Desktop Central and a key acheivment of the solution should we buy it is managing local files on devices. I have setup File Scan Schedule, but it never appears to populate with files. Can you advise if there are soecific ports on PC / Desktop Central server that need to be open specifically for File Scan? Thanks Jason
