Internet Explorer Crashes After Closing Desktop Sharing Sess
Every time we run a desktop sharing session through Desktop Central on a Vista / IE 7 machine, IE crashes after closing the window. Any fix? Prohibited software reports
Another feature request, in the prohibited software reports list, it lists each installation of the prohibited software separately, but does not list the computer name. For instance, if I have yahoo toolbar on 5 machines, it lists yahoo toolbar 5 times all with the exact information, showing it on 5 machines each time!? Groups functionality
Seems like the Custom groups functionality is kind of an afterthought. Would really like the ability in inventory to filter by custom groups, scan by custom groups, reports by custom groups,etc. I guess I am wondering what custom groups is suppose to do for us?
Storage errors while scanning
getting 2 errors with storage in the description while scanning: 1. 3 machines are saying "Storage control block address is invalid" 2. and 1 machine that says "not enough storage is available to process the command"... it has plenty of hard drive space
Free Windows Tools doesnt let me add more pcs
I'm using Desktop Central Wake On LAN Tool, from Free Tool Launcher and I can't add a sixth machine to the Wake up list, the software will just crash with an error telling me it found a problem and needs to close. My other machines respond perfectly to this software, either waking up or turning off. They are all in a domain with a 255.0.0.0 Mask. If I add that sixth computer, even if fictional, with that mask, it will crash, otherwise it will add it. We are using Free Windows Tools 1.2 on a P4 3.0Ghz

How to deploy software with MST
I've read the ridiculously simplistic "Software Deployment Guide", and in 4.1.2.2 it says I can specify an MST file by going to "MST File Name with Network Path". However I don't see that option on the Desktop Central. I've attached two screenshots.

How do I change the column width for items in a table. Specifically, on the "inventoryTab.do" page, the column for "Software Name" is too narrow and does't show enough of the name to be useful.

Software inventory issue with Acrobat
I'm slowly working through the issues/gotchas in your Desktop Central software despite the underwhelming documentation. I'm seeing one issue that I can't seem to resolve. In the software inventory, it seems to be keeping track of the software OK with one exception. For some reason it is showing each install of Adobe Acrobat as a separate software. So instead of showing 5 copies of Acrobat, it shows 5 separate lines of Acrobat installed once each. Please remedy and/or provide a workaround. I've attached

Problem - can't copy or install on client computer
Hello, I have some problem's with desktop central. When I've insalled it on Win 2003 Server and as a client I had WinXP as a virtual system on VmWare every thing was ok. I could install software, copy files, use Remote Desktop with this client. Next test was in real system, I use WinXP prof. computer as a serwer for Desktop Central and laptop with XP prof. as a client. Now there are some strange poblems. Can't add computer to manage
I get this message when trying to download msi files and patch so I can open my Excel program. I am missing the proplus.msi file. The message says- No computer is being managed by desktop central. When I try to add my computer it asks for a domain name. I have no idea what to put in there. I tried my name and my aol signon but that didn't work. Lynn

You gave instructions to someone about sending you a log and here are your instructions- the only thing is that there is NO "Support File" to select once you click on contact us. "You can create the logs from Support Tab - Contact Us - Support File. This will automatically zip and upload the logs.

configuration "yet to apply"
I set up a configuration to set the IE proxy for users belonging in specific group. I deploy the configuration successfully,and when I display the status of the configuration I got the view about 3 users with the status "yet to apply". I logout and login in order to force the application of the configuration, but the result in IE is not changed as expected and the status is always the same. What should I do in order to force the configuration in IE. I use the flag "remove" the user configuration.

issue in adding domain
Hi... I have been working with trial version of Desktop central for the past two days. I am facing a issue in adding a domain. I am getting an error stating that " Validation Failed" even after giving the correct credentials. I have installed the Desktop Central in windows 2003 server which by its own is having a domain. I am trying to add a new domain which is in an another location connected through VPN. I am giving the right credentials but still i am getting the same issue. The Domain Controller

User Login History by computer
When I select this report I only see about half our computers. If I reverse sort on the computer name then I see the other half. Shouldn't there be some sort of page selector at the top of this page as there are on others where there are more records than show in the window?

Missing Required Resource when applying patches

Can't install *.exe on client computer
I have a strange problem with installation *.exe on client computer. When I install *.msi it's OK. Lately I have tried to install *.exe , after client computer reboot and loged in i can see this program as a Process in Task Manager on this client. In Desktop Central 6 -> Configurations status for this configuration is still "Ready to execute". Schould I use some extra command's while preparing installation pack? Thank's for help.

adding local users
When trying to deploy local users to a number of machines, they all fail saying that the password doesn't meet the complexity rules. I absolutely know that 12 characters with a number, upper case and special character would more than meet any complexity requirements. dcinventory.exe Appl;ication Error

Inventory module provides you the Bios Information like Name, Manufacturer, Release date, Year of Installation, Service tag and Status. Hello. I'm trying Desktop Central on behalf of my it department and it seems to be a very good software. I have (for now ^^) only 2 questions about the inventory: 1. Is it possible to get the os language information? 2. Is it possible to get the hardware model name in the bios section? The Serial number (Service Tag) is correct, but we need the model name too. Push install to client never executes!
I have had this problem since we installed the software? I am able to push the client to the computer but nothing happens when I push anything to it? Ver 60007 This is becoming very frustrating and a waist of my time and money re up the maintaince charges. Good thing I only purchased 100 computer licenses and not 2000. Maybe someone can help. Install the Desktop Central Agent on NT 4.0
We are currently trying to evaluate Desktop Central 6 and we are having issues installing the agent on our NT 4.0 SP6 boxes. We would like to atuomate the process for installing the 6.1 agent on about 200 windows NT 4.0 PC's.
