Desktop Central and Active Directory
I am in the evaluation process for Desktop Central 6.0. I like what I have seen so far, but I am still doing research and have yet to install it. I am curious about the interaction between Desktop Central and Active Directory. I see that it queries AD for user, group and computer information to populate its own database, does it actually write anything to AD?
The configuration options available overlap some AD group policy settings. How does Desktop Central apply those settings to the desktop? Does it directly make the changes to the desktop's local machine policy or does it use AD to apply them?
More specifically, if I configure a GPO in AD for Folder Redirection and then configure settings in Desktop Central that conflict with them, which setting would end up being applied to the desktop?
