Automated Report Creation in AD Manager
Is there a way to set up a job to have a report run monthly (automated so you don't have to log into the system and manually create the report yourself)? I would like to reveice a report of all enabled users monthly and wasn't sure if there was functionality in the system to have a report like this automatically generated.
Bulk edit of description field

Share permissions
I am creating templates to be used for the purpose of bulk user upload. The problem I have is configuring the share permissions in line with company policy. The share permissions are required to be set to 'Everyone' full control. Then we use NTFS permissions to restrict access as appropiate. When selecting 'add more share permissions' I can only select Active Directory objects. (User/ Group/ Computer) The trouble is, the 'Everyone' group is not an object I can select. Set Default OU for Technicians
Hi, there are several technicians in my ad-manager and they have rights on many OU's. Is it possible to set one specific OU as default OU for a user? Example: one of the technicians mostly creates a special type of groups and they should be located in the regading ou. This is 90% of the work he is doing in ADManager. Creating users with External Addresses
I have created a template for creation of users with mailboxes. The template is locked so our techs only has to enter First Name & Last Name. The other required fields are generated aumatically and the fields are locked so they cannot be changed. I copied that template for creation of users with External Mail addresses. But for the life of me, I can't get the External email field to become unprotected so they can put in the external email address. I have tried various combos of fields and nothing

NTFS Reporting In ADManager Plus Trial
Hi, Im trying out the trial version of ADManager Plus Trial to see if its something we might be interested in but I am having a problem with the NTFS Reporting. Im am trying this on a win 7 64bit machine. our environment is running exchange 2007. I login under the default admin\admin since it will not let me login with my domain creds. i get the error "your acct is not configured as a helpdesk technician". Custom Script for User Creation Validation
Does anyone have a script that could validate a newly created user's information? For example, I have a custom attribute field that I want to put the hire date of the user. My tech's never seem to use mm/dd/yyyy format. Is there a way to script an error when they put the date in wrong? Scan only OU in a domain... not an entire domain?
Is there any way to force domain scanning to a particular OU instead of the entire domain? I am looking at using ADManager Plus again, as I have used it before, but our company was acquired a couple years ago and integrated in to another domain managed by our parent company. I manage our OU in that domain, which has around 500 computers and users. The problem occured when IT management saw ADManager Plus scanning the domain at a global level instead of just looking in our OU structure... and asked
Scan only part of domain?
The default scan on my dashboard view is showing 244,756 users! I only manage 100 of them. I obviously don't care about the rest. I couldn't figure out how to filter or specify to scan only within "mydomain.com/people/myhotelcode" instead of all of "mydomain.com". I work at a hotel that has franchises worldwide, I only want to see my hotel, our AD is setup so that each hotel has its own OU: "mydomain.com/people/hotelcode". How can I scan only a small part of the domain?
Copys users from 1 group to another group?
We've got 1 group with 500+ users & groups in, the group is now defunct but I need to move all those users out and into a new group. Is there a way to do this is ADManager? Thanks
Delegated User can not unlock users
I have a delegated users with Assigned OUs and assigned roles allowing them to unlock users in those OUs however the users in question can not access the unlock users options. Any ideas?

Field Mapping for csv import
Howdy, I was wondering if there was an easy-to-follow list of field names to use in the csv file for importing multiple users. A suggestion I have to is have a pop-up on each field in the Modify User section, so when you hover the mouse over the field name, it gives you the heading to use in the csv file to import to that field. Hi, The audit reporting would be very useful to track who did what however they seem to be lacking information especially for changes made to mailboxes (e.g. if someone is given access to another user's mailbox) Below is an example of the audit report. It tells me who made a change and what mailbox was changed but doesn't tell me what exactly was changed and also vitally does not say to whom was the access granted. Can this be achieved? ADManager Plus 5 wont start up (mysqld-nt.exe has stopped working)

User import via csv and template problems
I have some weird things going on, at least I think so. I am wondering: What particular fields in the template actually override the ones in the CSV file? I have my csv file setup with a few fields including userprincipalname and samaccountname. When I do a bulk users import of my csv file everything shows up in the listjust like it does in the csv file. example, my userprincipalname for user bmoore is bmoore and samaccountname is bmoore. now, when I apply the template it changes userprincipal name
Expired password accuracy?
Hi, I was using the expired passwords report to determine whether an account was inactive or not, as opposed to the regular inactive account report and noticed something that concerns me. We haven't been able to use the regular inactive account report because it seems to trigger on logons with userid and password whereas our users log on with smart cards. ADManager Plus Synchronising With Primary Domain Controller
How often does ADManager Plus synchronise with the primary domain controller? Our Helpdesk users have found that the information being displayed can be out of date. ManageEngine Service won't start. Error 1067
Hi ManageEngine-Team Somehow we managed to destroy the Windows service of ADManager. We tried to change some IIS-Port settings and had to restart the service for a few times. Formatting question: Importing phone numbers with extnesion
Question: When setting up the CSV file to import, I have a list of phone nu,ber both with and without extensions. The DID's are easy as I am using (XXX) XXX-XXXX format to import them. Permisions to Groups
Would be good to have the ability to give permission to specific users to adjust membership of specific security groups so a line manager can add or remove them from areas of their responsibility. I do not want to give the user permissions to access all groups. Phil Evelyn
