Assets: Servers and iLO management port
We are using HP Servers and each server has an embedded management port "iLO". SDP doesn't seem to regard this in any way. Few issues came to mind straight away: 1. There is no place for iLO IP-address in Server -details 2. The Network scans doesn't recognice iLO port and collect any information about it or the server. 3. The Network scans identifies the iLO port as a seperate Server (or workstation) rather than a port in particular server. No details are collected. 4. How can I link the Server

Using Contracts instead of Leasing option
I have a question to see if anyone has used contracts in a way to track leased equipment vs. the lease option. My issue is large amounts of equipment that have been leased through different companies with different EOL dates. Domain scan result error
Hi, I used SD+ v7 build 7004 on win XP. I have 30 workstations that joined to a domain and when I do windows domain scan, the result are 20 workstations succeeded and the rest 10 workstations failed. But when I see the assets tab menu it just only display 14 workstations. Why it not shows all of the success scanned workstations? Btw, what is "Workstations Detected" and "Workstations Scanned" in the scan summary? what are the differences? Thanks, MBT

Prevent Public Domains from Scanning Permanently
I have two Public Domains that I want listed on the logon screen, and as such I have two domains listed as public. However I do not want both domains to be scanned. I only want them to be listed on the logon screen. Is there anyway to accomplish this? Automatically assign asset to workstations during import?
We have a list of workstations an asset assigned to each one. Is there a way of importing both at the same time with each asset getting assigned to the appropriate workstation? There are 136 workstations to import (each with 1 asset assigned to it). We are using the serial number of each device (for both workstation and asset) as the name with the only other data value for each being an inventory tag #. Can't add Column Resource Tag to Asset view
On the asset overview page I can't add the column "Resource Tag" which would be quite helpful. *edit: Just saw there is already a feature request for this: SDF-27448 Resource Tag option is required in column chooser of all asset list views. I would still class it as a bug because it makes the product almost unusable when working with Asset Tags.
asset workstation reconcilation
Hello, I want to raise a problem I'm encountering, trying to reconcile software licenses coming from the POs with the softwares scanned by the application. When I select the reconcile option from the PO actions menu, the window pop up telling me that there's no workstation to select, even if there are hundreds of them, including the ones where those software are installed. could it be related to the site configuration? the site configuration has been changed a little and I suppose it can be involved
Cannot allocate more than 100 users to a CAL software license
In ServiceDeskPlus On demand, I have a software license for 240 user based CALs. When I select a whole bunch of users (230 of them) and click the add button, then click save, I get an error message: "The maximum number of values for Allocatetowslist cannot exceed 100" There doesn't seem to be anyway around this- or am I doing something wrong?
Asset Managment Agent - Deploying to an entire subnet
Hi Everyone, I'm pretty new to servicedesk plus but have a requirement to deploy the asset management tool in a fairly short timeframe. Due to the nature and size of our organisation I dint want to deploy to an AD domain but would like to roll out on a subnet basis. Question: Is there a way to deploy to an entire subnet? Purchase Order --> Asset Exclusion
All, Is there any way to do an exclusion when receiving items from a PO? Every item received from a PO automatically gets added to the Asset Listing. This was fine when we had unlimited Assets, but now that we are limited, it's a problem. I really don't care if we have power adapters, thumb drives, or even a $5 keyboard in our Assets. But, it's filling up our Assets and we can't add more. Thanks
Asset with dot in the name
Gents, I have the following issue. We use dot (".") in the names of network sockets. We created network sockets as assets. All works fine, but if you open Relationships for this asset, ServiceDesk will strip all characters after dot. Can you please fix that ? See the attached screenshot.
Problem/error with asset category (upgrade failed from 8027)
Dear Support team, Can you please help to fix that problem. Somehow, during the testing of assets module, we delete (?) asset resource called "Access Point". I dont know how. And we forget about this. But when we start updating our version from 8027 to SP1 we recieved error like below.. We try to recreate manually Access Point, but it not helps. And when we try to open this IT asset (Access point) we recieve such error. Can you please help in our case? Can we recover this resource and update
Software Asset License - Downgrade problem
We have a slight issue with recording downgraded licenses and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. We've just finished scanning over 4,000 computers and are starting to reconcile the software with our purchasing history. The problem is tracking downgraded software - If we have a total of 40 - Office 2003 Professional Licenses, out of that 30 are actual Office 2003 Professional and 10 are Office 2010 Professional Licenses, theres no way to record that. Effects of blowing out asset list?
I am very new to ManageEngine, and have been tasked with getting our asset lists in order. We use the domain scan in our environment, with about a 50% success rate. About 25% fail due to what looks like the usual: firewall enabled, credentials incorrect, RPC/DCOM settings not configured. The other 25% are simply not relevant in the domain (test machines, should never have been in scanned OU, etc). That 25% represents several hundred assets. Hello everyone. I'm fairly new to ServiceDesk Plus MSP and have attempted to get a good asset scan. I ran Windows domain scan and pulled in the workstations on our network (although it did not auto-assign them--not sure why). How would it be best to also scan for printers/switches/etc.? Question 2: I ran the Distributed Asset Scan probe at a remote client location and was able to import the workstations into ServiceDesk Plus. How would it be best to also scan for printers/switches/etc.?
Location Awareness in iPhone App
Location awarenes on the iPhone app would really improve its functionality. It would be great to be able to automatically assign jobs to maintenance staff who are currently at a specific site. You could also allow the staff to view all jobs pending for the current location. Assets with the same name
We have much assets that are different computers located in different towns but have the same name (such as server or manager) but have different MAC's Workgroup etc. When we try to mannualy import xml config files that we make with standalone audit script it is overwriten. What can we do besides of renamin all of this computers?

Clearing Asset Discovery history
The Asset Discovery feature is extremely useful. However, if you are asked to perform an asset audit ad hoc, there is no way to clear the discovery history (although this feature is available for scheduled discovery tasks). If asset discovery is being performed over an entire domain, the history for that domain should be cleared before discovery. If asset discovery os for a single machine, the record for that machine should be cleared before discovery.
Windows 7: Asset Scan does not work
Hi, I changed for testing my computer from Windows XP to Windows 7. Since this moment, the asset scan does not work any more and reports back DCOM problems. I have tried moreless everything which is posted in the forums, but it seams that no one is using Win7 with Service Desk Asset scan yet. Dos anyone has an idea, why the scan does not get through? by the way, manual scanning does work and reports it's result back to the SD-Server. Kind regards Thomas
SDP - Purchase Order - New asset creation - No Warranty Period field
Hi, In SDP, when creating a new asset within a new Purchase Order, there is no field for warranty period, while it does exist when creating new assets under Admin - Products. As a result, all the new assets/products created within PO need to have their warranty info adjusted manually, one by one. Can this be implemented in the near future? Thank you, Miron

Asset Discovery
The asset discovery option of SDP is very good. Where I work we have quite a few standalone machines which also need discovery action to ensure we remain compliant. It would be very useful if there was an option that allowed a "module" to be created by SDP and saved to USB Flash Disk that would allow us to insert it into a standalone machine, run the module and collect the data for merging with the final reports.
