PO module - buying software... Version group? Licenses?
I started using the PO module about a month ago. It's had its ups and downs, but for the most part I really enjoy the ability to add assets in a logical overall manner. I don't understand the purchasing of software, however. If I am buying my first copy of AutoCAD LT 2009 from vendor "Test", I'll have to "Add New" to get that product in the system. I then have to choose a major version my list of currently managed software. I don't understand what I'm supposed to do here. I went ahead and selected
Scheduled AD import ERROR!

Open Issues with SDP 7.0.0 build 7017
Support, please respond. The following list of issues are open with SDP 7.0.0 build 7017. Some of these issues I have been reporting since build 7009. I have not received specific feedback on any of these issues. Adventnet, please comment and resolve: 1.) There is no way to delete an asset connection relationship other than replacing it. This greatly limits the usefulness of this feature. For example, a relationship between a computer and a printer cannot be deleted, only replaced with a new relationship.
SD+ Crash with Audit Settings Scheduled
Only to inform you that running SD+ 7.015 & activating schedulation on AUDIT SETTINGS (every day), SD+ will crash using all memory with java.exe. Even trying to enlarge memory size for java.exe, crash is appearing. i solved turning off that schedulation but would be nice have some fix in the next hotfix. Is there anybody else that has same issue? thanks Cesar

Adding Purchase Order name on the print out.
Is there a way to add the "Purchase order Name" in the print out report. Right now It's confusing when looking at by purchase order number not the name. Atleast with the name it will allow us to determine what's in the PO.
SD+ and Lotus Notes
I need to configure SD+ to work with Lotus Notes 7.0.2 I am not the Notes Admin, nor am I the networking admin. I need to be given step by step directives to give to my Lotus Notes Admin to setup an email address to fetch and send mail from SD+. This email address also needs to be able to append incoming emails to existing tickets. Thank you!
ON HOLD function doesn't stop requests going overdue
What's the point of the ON HOLD status if it doesn't actually stop the timer? Surely a request ON HOLD should not have a DueBy Date and therefore only have one re-specified when the request comes back to Open?
SCAN via Remote agent
Hello! Some time back soon after purchasing SD6 (now at SD build 7013), I got the impression that we were going to get a remote agent to install at every workstation for the sake of updating the inventory both software and hardware. Is it just something I have not yet gotten to (I just upgraded), or is this still only available for the Desktop central inventory? Geoffrey, Kenya.

Build 7017 - Currency cannot be changed from dollars ($)
In this build the currency reverted to dollars. When I went in to Purchase Orders - Default Values and changed it to pounds (�) requests still show dollars. <sigh> One bug after another...!
Asset scan for Printers routers and switches
While doing an AD scan for assets, I noticed only workstations, servers and some printers are found. We have around 44 printers in our AD domain (most of the same make and model) The AD scan however does not detect all of them. For some reasons some printers are being skipped on every scan while the setup is excactly the same for all of them. Also routers and switches are not found. How can I detect these?

Put the 'Save and Close' button back on the Resolutions page
I noticed in the latest patch that you have removed the 'Save and Close' button from the Resolutions page and added a drop down list to change the status of a request. Why couldn't you just leave the 'Save and Close' button where it was and still have 'Close' on the drop-down list for those who want to use that?

Custom fields cannot be add in the blank request
some custom fields which added in somewhere like "requester" or "technicians" are not available to be added in the defaul request... but after i create the request, it can be shown. It seems very trouble for users which they need to access the request twice to finished the request filling... will it be possible to be shown all customize fields at the blank request...
Unable to restore DB
Hi, trying to restore a backup from our production environment to test environvemnt, i cannot complete this operation succesfully. No errors are displayed but i cant find datas in test environment. Moving installation
We have SDP (release 7014) installed on a virtual server and found that the origianl size of the hard drive was too small. When we tried to resize the drive we found that this wouldn't be possible through Windows 2003 server. So, that brings us to the next question - how difficult is it to move the application within the same server? Purchase Orders - Adding Products
The way that products are added to the purchase order needs to be redesigned... Current issues: 1. When selecting a vendor the items list area automatically populates with all of the products associated with that vendor. 2. When clicking on the 'add item' button the 'Enter the product details here' dialog appears a. The 'Product Name' text box requires manual entry instead of a pick list from the vendor specified in the PO 3. There is no option to select & delete items from the items section Enhancements:

Unless I'm missing something, there's absolutely no facts on what this field is for. Referring to the third column on right-hand-side when looking at software details.
Remove the expiry date of an Asset
Unfortunately I entered the "expiry date" rather than the "date of purchase" (not sure if this is the correct translation, I am working with the German translation of SD+) to an asset. Now, as the asset acutally doesn't have an expiry date, how can I remove this information? Kind of a workaround could be to set the date to a long time in the future, but that is not actually, what I want to do. Thanks for any help. Regards, Oliver

Until SD+ 7017, when try to reply email to requester base on the request, it does not have any button to attached the photo directly in the email. For temporary use, we need to save it as attachment. It's very difficult for technicians to explain the reply in detail... Is it possible to add this function?

Hi Servicedesk Plus crashed and after restarting the server login fails when using Domain authentication. Report Wizard forgets changed Display Columns order pre-Save
While Editing a Custom Report, if you change the order in Display Columns, then go to Next and beyond, then Prev your way back to "Step 1 Select columns to display" - or - if you Run Report then choose to Edit to continue desigining, your new order in Display Columns is forgotten and reverts to what you chose initially if creating anew, or the last time you ever Saved the report. SLA Escalation Emails
I have my SLAs defined, and they seem to be working normally...each ticket that should be affected has a due date assigned to it. However, escalation emails don't seem to be showing up. Are there any best practices for setting up escalations? For an SLA that requires resolution in 1 business day, I have mine configured as: Escalate After - 0 days - 6 hours I expected to get an email 6 hours after the ticket was opened. Is this wrong?
Question about the link between an asset and the PO
Hi, I cant seem to see any way to find what PO an asset was purchased on while looking at the asset. If I open a PO I can see the associated assets, but not in reverse. I must be missing something. Where is it? Thanks, Anton

Unable to log in after changing Domain Controllers
I know what the problem is but I can fix it. We've just decommisioned our old domain controllers in favour of a faster one...BUT we forgot that SDP probably looks at the old ones for authentication. Now hre comes the problem.....we gave teh default administrator/administrator account technition status....meaning we can't do anything on our accounts without the old Domain Controllers coming back online (something we can't do). Is there a way into the system to change some settings OR giving the administrator
RPC Server error while windows domain scan
Hi, Our orgnization has bought the licence for SD+ and I am trying to add windows IT assets in SD+ by doing 'Admin\Asset Management \Windows Domain Scan'. Here i provided the required domain admin login credentials for scanning domain. But here SD+ is able to scan half of the workstations successfuly but giving error 'Connection to RPC server in the workstation failed.' for other workstations. What could be the reason when all the machines are from same domain and having same policies implemented
Issue with Purchase Order in SD+ 7017
I have updated SD+ 7015 to version 7017 (windows 2003 and MS-SQL 2005). I entered into the following problem with the purchase orders: When I create a new PO, I enter the product details like the price (in Europe we use euro �) f.e. 1234. After saving it shows up in the purchase order like this: 1.23400 When entering the quantity f.e. 1 , the amount displays as 1234.00 Of course all existing PO's are completely wrong because of the error above. REPORTS
Many of the canned reports are great in the system. The only issue I have come across (and maybe someone knows how to get around it) is when I modify a report the system doesn't allow me to do a 'Save As' instead of a Save. Could someone let me know if there is a way to take a canned report, modify it and then save it with another name but still be able to keep the original report unmodified (essentially a Save As). Thanks.
Software "Types"
I want to be able to add a few more choices to the "Types" selection for software. Right now I have the basic ones, like "managed", "freeware" and so on. Can I add new "types" to the list already there?
