95/5 reports?
Does anyone know if Netflow Analyzer can generate 95/5 reports in bps? I'm looking for the standard ISP style - measure every 5 min. both in and out - discard the top 5% of measurements and deliver the 95% measurement. A small caveat is that I'd like to specifically report on traffic inbound and outbound from my networks to the rest of the world and discard traffic intra-network. Windows service monitoring
I have figured out how to setup monitoring for a custom Windows service through the admin tab. I have been unable to connect monitoring this service to a specific device. I have tried devices both as both a server or desktop
WMI - CPU Utilization Graphs shows much higher than actual
Have a problem on a couple 2000 Exchange servers, with the reported CPU utilization being reported *much* higher than actual. - The graphs are displaying each of the 4, CPU's polling at 98% utilization. - The web interface snapshot is showing a current (and constant) dial display of 98% CPU utilization. - The java interface snapshot shows a correct 1% utilization on the snapshot, but the associated graphs, display an ongoing utilization of 98% for each CPU. - Watching Performance monitor on the server

Managed Firewall Device Cannot be added to a business view
We have 3 managed firewall devices, which we can access in the OpManager Firewalls category. We cannot however add any of these devices to a business view, unless we change them from Firewall to Switch/Router category. We've done this in order to add them to a business view, but as soon as we change them back to a firewall category, they disapear from any applied Business Views. Is this a bug? It would be appropriate for our application here to see these firewall devices in their proper business

New Applications
Do you plan on providing any "updated" application mappings to include ports like BitTorrent (6881-6889), Emule (4662), etc. While I realize that this can be done by the admin manually, an occassional update would help to identify many of the newer P2P applications for bandwidth mgmt purposes for the masses.

How do I change Icons for Predefined/Standard Device Images
I have too many router icons to fit into my business-view If I were able to use smaller icons, I believe they would all fit. I have created smaller versions of the PNG files I need, and can use them with new devices I add, but I cannot find any place to change the icon associated with any given OID.
Device not responding
I monitor numerous remote routers across the entire spectrum on bandwidths. All of my routers which are connected via a 56k or 64k connection are reporting "DOWN" or "NOT RESPONDING" many times a day. However, they are not actually down, I believe OPManager just thinks they are because they take too long to respond. Is OpManager just doing a PING? If so, can I somehow increase the response time allowed?

I'm evaluating OpManager for a possible purchase. We have downloaded and installed the 30day professional version. As I'm setting up my networks I have a few questions that I have not seen answered in the manual. 1. I have DLink switches and they are not automatically being seen by OpManager. after adding a business view they are gone from router view
Routers that have been setup properly and viewed in the infrastructure router view I created a Business view and added those routers to it. Now the infrastructure router view stats I have 31 routers but it only shows 12 I can search to the IP and through the business view and get to the device and it is still in the router grouping. HELP!!
How is data gathered?

Can't add devices
Hi, I can't add any devices to my Netflow install. I had installed the trial version, and when the trial expired I purchased a 10 interface license. According to the License Managment scrren I have 4 remaining interfaces, however, I can't find anywhere to be able to add additional devices. Any suggestions?

Hi, I want to monitor event logs on my windows 2003 small business server (where opmanger is also installed) but when I have a few options clicked and I want to test it I don't get a alarm of that option. I'm sure that my domain name, login name and password are good. What can be the problem???
Server 2003 Discovery
I was running the auto discovery and none of my MS Server 2003 machines were discovered as a server. They were placed int he desktops grouping. Is there some configuration I need to enable on the server to allow the autodiscovery to work correctly? Thanks

Feature Request. A different type of Custom Monitor.
Some applications cannot be monitored via snmp, or on a TCP port level. It would be nice if we could configure a monitor that allowed us to specify a local program/script to execute. Inside this script someone could write code to check on the status of such application. Like using Perl's NET::TELNET to access the remote machine and run application specific commands. Inside your custom program/script you would have to determine weather the response was valid. Then you would return either by error

Adding Requestors?
Is there any way to automatically add a requestor from Active Directory or and NT4 domain? Also, is there any way to have the system perform a single sign on for the self service portal? ie. If a user opens the web page to go to the helpdesk site, they are automatically logged in based on their username, with this username being obtained from the domain? Thanks Andrew

I noticed that snmp enabled printers can notice if the toner is low, out of paper, etc. How would I have a notification email sent if it is out of paper or toner?
OpManager Wish list
Hi, I have a couple of Sun machines with many, many partitions that I am finetuning and I have a lot of trouble checking the threshold that I have set every time that I need to make a change (I have to check all partitions and that means a lot of clicks!). May be a good idea is to have a report to show the monitoring configuration (thersholds, polling time, user accounts used to poll, etc.) for each machine and for an individual machine... Windows XP Pro Firewall
I have a number of laptop users who have XP Pro (SP2) installed on their machines. As they are mobile I need to have their Windows Firewall active so that they can use hotspots, etc whilst out of the office. With the firewall on (and set with defaults) OpManager doesn't appear to be able to see them. What port(s) need to be opened in order for OpManager (& other AdventNet software - ServiceDesk) to see these machines? Thanx

Printing Request
I've got a couple of questions about the Request area of ServiceDesk 4. 1. Is it possible to print all of the tabs using the print button supplied? At present no matter which of the tabs are chosen (Request, Resolution, History or Replies) it would appear that only Request gets printed. How is the user supposed to know what the Resolution is if they cannot print it? They may also need to see all replies. 2. Software Licensing component
The product looks pretty good from the web site, you guys just keep coming up with just what I need, but I was wondering how the licensing component works? Does it do a scan of all the machines using wmi or similar on a scheduled basis, or is there some sort of client install on the machine? Either way, what are the bandwidth requirements for this?
OpManager stops retrieving data
Hi. I have this issue. I have a Sun machine with about 25 partitions that I've being monitoring for several weeks. But with no apparent reason, OpManager stops getting disk utilization information on some partitions and shows NA on graph. If I click on the '30' button to see data for the last 30 days I see data until several days ago and after that, nothing. Error on setting up mail server
We are testing Opmanager at an external site and when I want to send a test message to an address outside of that domain, it gives this error: Invalid Addresses; nested exception is: class javax.mail.SendFailedException: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for (outside email address) If we use an email address that is inside that domain, it works perfectly.

I want to change the type of monitors using Manage engine in Java (resource monitors, traffic monitors, appilcation monitors, etc.) but i can't get set anything if i am using Java client. am i doing something wrong or isn't it possible to do it in Java client???
