Network views
Hi, I have added three servers in the xxx.yyy.zzz.224/28 network, but the network itself doesn't show up in the list of Network Views. Also, the Java client (which does show the network) shows it up as "unmanaged" despite the presence of the three servers. Don't know what's going on! :) thanks a lot, alec
Network Discovery bug?
Hi, I'm trying to auto-discover a network 192.168.12.192/27 so I enter "192.168.12.192" in the "Network IP" field, and select "255.255.255.224" as the subnet mask. When I hit "Add Network" it says "Please enter a valid Network Address". 192.168.12.192 bitwise ANDed with 255.255.255.224 equals 192.168.12.192, so it is a valid network address. Why can't I enter it? It seems a zero is required in the last octet for it to be accepted. many thanks, alec

Problem Monitoring Jboss running on Linux from Windows
Hi Adventnet /Jboss Guru's, I have installed the AdventNet Applications Manager6 the evalutaion version( free) on my windows. Now I want to Monitor my JBoss which is running on a different Linux Box. I want to Monitor the JVM, Heap Size the CPU usage by the Jboss server. I have created the Monitor Groups and the monitor which monitors JBoss and Linux.. but to configure it for EJB JVM, servlets.. I need to click on the "configure to get EJB, JDBC,JVM,Servlets Details" button... which takes me to Edit
Cache flow on VLAN interfaces only 1 way.
Have enabled cache flow on the 4 vlans on my 3550 switches but seem to get one way traffic only. OK, thinking I need to enable it on the outgoing interfaces, ie the 2950 connected via trunks with vlans crossing them, I try to enable cache flow on the interface on the 2950 but only have the following option :- #ip route-cache ? same-interface Enable fast-switching on the same interface <cr> Should I be anabling cache flow on both the iterface on the 3550 AND the 2900 and if so, the command above is
Possible making Requesters invisible for eachother?

jboss monitoring and security
My understanding of the jboss monitoring component is that you use the http invoker service to obtain mbean information. Our jboss servers have tomcat running on port 80 and we have to run the invoker servlet on this port too. Does this not present a security problem? Is there a better way to do this or am I missing something? I can switch on authentication for the servlet but then I can't see where I would add the information in application manager. How are people dealing with this issue? thank

Hi : I use the Application Manager 6.0 SP2 to monitor AIX. Every graph can be shown very well except the CPU Utilization view. Always say "No Data Available". How can I solve this problem ?

Problem when monitoring CPU on AIX server
Hello ! I monitor the CPU of my AIX 5L server with the HOSTRESSOURCE mib. It works fine, but the problem is that I have always the same value : -2147483648 I think this is a confusion between signed and not signed integer ... somebody know this problem ? Any suggestion ? Thank you
User traps & critical status
Whenever I send a user defined trap from my server it sets the status to critical. Is there any way to configure the status according to the message that is received? Some of our messages are critical but some are more informative & diagnostic coming before critical alarms need to be tripped. Thank you. John

Looking at using this product to monitor traffic through our router which is providing data to a number of customer hosted servers in our data center. I would like to configure a number of report templates that can be generated automatically at the end of each month, rather than have to manually report each month. There are a good 20 reports for specific addresses that I would need to do, so it would be pretty painful to do it manually :(.

I would like to know, if its possible to use your own mysql server. I have already running mysqld on my server, and I would like to use that one. Starting another mysqld eats a lot of memory. I also have a problem starting NetFlow, on my linux server. I try to start it with run.sh. And I got this "Trying to start MySQL server failed". I am using Suse 9.2 Pro, with 2.6.11.12 kernel. How do I configure trap listener which type is enterpriseSpecific? For example, I'm trying to get Weblogic timestamp (OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.140.625.100.5). I choose "Trap Listener Name", "status", "version" and "type". Then there is this "Specific Type" place. What I put there? I've been tried 100 and 5. In "Enterprise OID" place i have .1.3.6.1.4.1.140.625 (Weblogic server enterprise oid). Also configured proper action. Is this correct way to get this timestamp or how do I configure to get it. Feature Request- Filter and Search requests by category
I now have OpManager opening tickets to their correct corresponding categories in ServiceDesk Plus, however I don't have an option to filter the requests by category in the request view. Each individual department of Technicians really only wants to see the category that applies to them. So in the drop down filter field if it could have the categories as an option. Also in the Search field if you could search by category. This should be a fairly easy addition as all the db info should already be

Hi We have recently purchased OpManager 5.5 and installed. It ihas not identified D-Link 1750 routers as routers and had to manually configure. Mopreover the second hop routers are shown as criitical even though they are available. The ping delay is morethan 2 secs for those routers. How can I increase ping delay in Opmanager? I have decided to use subcategories in the Category field in the form or Network - Internet - Slow, however the field width is not wide enough - 1. can the width be increased 2. Is it possible to have pop menus instead? See attached screenshot
Searching for a requester - crashing!
When creating a new request, we are trying to add a requester from the Requester List by searching for them and hitting the Go button. When we find the person we require, we click the little circle (radio button) to add the user but in Firefox we just get a blank window. Browsing Vendors?
Is there a way to browse through your vendor contacts in ServiceDesk Pro? We would like to consolidate our vendor information into ServiceDesk Pro since it is already there for asset tracking, however I can't seem to find an easy way to browse through the vendors in order to look at their details (at least for a nonadmin user).
After adding monitor for SLES 9 no new polling occuring
I'm having trouble monitoring some SLES 9 machines. After I add the machines to the manager, they never get polled again for new information. They have good response time and availability is reported as 'Up', but the health never changes because it can't get any new information. I've double checked my snmp configuration and things look like they are in order there.
Knowledge Base
Is it possible in the knowledge base to attach files in the contents, we already have a set number of procedures for our bespoke software in word format, and they contain formatting and screenshots, that do not transfer when pasted. This would be very helpful for us. We are currently testing the Helpdesk functionality and we are quite happy with a lot of the functions of Servicedesk and we are giving it serious consideration.
