chaps fantastic piece of software - does everything i want and more only one niggle at the moment. ive just applied the latest service pack (SP6) and noticed a hyperlink to freeanswers.net in the solutions section. is there anyway of turning this off???? thanks
Fix for mysql errors in Suse 9.x
Found this in a Suse forum and it fixed the "Unable to connect to mysql daemon" error. It is now working. The problem was that JDBC was having problems with the ipv6 in SuSE 9.2. Commenting out the line: #::1 localhost ipv6-localhost ipv6-loopback in the /etc/hosts file solved the problem. This plus the libdb fix for the web server previously mentioned gets OpManager up and running successfully on Suse 9.x
Startup problems
Hi, I have installed Op Manager on a server that also i am also running Servicedesk and another product that uses mysql & tomcat all on one box and i am having trouble starting the opmanager service in the windows event log it says the following "the ManageEngine OpManager service terminated unexpectedly." i have already changed the port 8009 on the other tomcat application so as at least i can sort of start Op Manager. I think it could be some thing to do with the fact i now have three mysql servers
log file processing
Can I use APM to process logfiles rather than hooking it up to the production infrastructure? I would like to do this for an offline performance analysis that does not require access to the production environment - which is very tightly guarded on this site. Best regards, ray
Appears that I need to load a mib upon startup
In the MIB Browser, I can get the desired information IF I manually load the MIB. I have set up a couple of test graphs using items from the loaded MIB, but they always show no data available after running for a while (at least 2 collection periods). Did find mibstoload.conf or something like that and added the desired MIB file to it, but still nothing after stopping and restarting the server. Problem - Default values for Category, Level and Priority
I have the default valuesfor category and level set to "choose category", "choose level" and "choose priority" however when the new request page is displayed in the self service portal the default values displayed are set to the first value in the list, not the "choose" option. If the requester does not choose a value from the list I do not want the request to default to an actual category because it will be assigned to the wrong technician, instead I would rather they be forced to select a value
Pickup Bug?
If you pick up individual tasks, several times in a row then the system will assign all open tasks. Is anyone else seeing this? My techs are afraid to use the pickup task button.
Custom Status
Hi I was wondering if it was possible to add custom status eg in progress etc to the system. I Can't Figure It Out
I am trying the demo version of OpManager, and I need an answer to this question. On my Desktops list, my own computer shows up with the blue star (SNMP enabled), and all my monitors work well. However, none of the other Desktops on the network show the blue star, even those with SNMP enabled, and I can't get any of the monitors to work for other Desktops. What do I need to do? Just installed SP2 to go to 5600, and I don't have any data in my cpu utilization, memory, disk and traffic monitors. The dashboard graphs also do not show up. ???
Notification profile
hello I'have installed the SP2 and now when I want to add a notiffication Profile, OpManager says that "Notification profile added successfully" but it doesn't appear in the table E-Mail profiles. So I cant' associate a device to this notification. Any suggestion ? I have to reinstall SP2 or remove ...?
Cisco 2801 issue
OpManager discovered it(although there is no device type for the 2801 so I used a 2600 series), but doesn't show interface e0/0 or s0/1/0 in the infrastructure view and doesn't show the connection between that interface and it's associated network in the Network view. It does show the interfaces as up if i look at the snapshot view. Anyway to get the other interfaces to show?

Opmanager service fails to start
I just installed the 5.6 upgrade and now I can't get opmanager to start on the server. The only way i can get it to start up is the batch file in the bin directory. Here is the eventviewer error logs Unable to execute Java command. The system cannot find the file specified. Notification for all users that server will be down
Is there a way of adding a note onto the dashboard so if a server is down for maintenace or maintenace is planned all clients can see this on their dashboard. Rather than having the same requests posted time and time again if a server or service is down.

Sending Email
Very strange this... POP3/SMTP settings are correct and emails are correctly being collected and created as new requests. If I use the 'Email the Requester' option all is good (which makes me think its not a problem with SMTP settings) but even though I have ticked the notification rules such as 'Acknowledge Requester by email when a request is received' and 'Notify technician by email when request is assigned' nothing seems to be sending. Any ideas?
High cpu usage

Ability for Human Resources to initiate a new user
As an added feature of service desk - it would be great if our Human Resources department could initiate a request for the help desk to setup a new user on our systems. Job Status options - feature request
Hi All, Would it be possible to add an additional JOB STATUS OPTION so we could have the following: Open On Hold Closed WaitingUser The WaitingUser option would be used when the technician has responded to a request and is now waiting on the Requestor to provide feedback. This is different to OnHold as we use OnHold for when a Tech has picked up a job, but is not currently working on it, they change the status from Open to OnHold and back to Open to help keep better time records (very cumbersome)
