Deleting software with 0 counts
I am trying to delete software that has 0 installed counts. On certain entries I get the error 'FAILURE : Some of the software is been referred by workstations. Hence cannot delete software further'. Why can I not delete these entries when they are no longer installed? Any ideas?
How can I stop AuthenticationFailures
I keep getting AuthenticationFailures on lots of different devices. I have check the SNMP settings with the devices and ensure that the Opmanager settings are the same, but the warnings keep happening Any Ideas

Opmanager and ServiceDesk
Hi all I have read on various posts that Opmanager and ServiceDesk can not run on the same server. I am running Opmanager 6 and Service Desk 5 with the lastest fixes. Can any one tell my why this is before invest in another server to run one of these packages. Kindest Regards
Timer Issues
We have found a problem with the Stop / Start timer. If you have a call on stop and then hit the start button there seems no way of then stopping the call as the Stop timer info is not displayed? If you go into the call and click update request and refresh the screen the Stop Timer info is back? I assume that this is not a feature and that you should be able to stop / start calls as many times as is needed? Thanks
Problem with Reports creation
Hi, My Last name has an apostrophe. i.e D'Silva. I noticed that when i ran the report for Technicians, I used to get error in Apache because of the apostrophe. I noticed it the other day and made the change. I found that it was working. Just thought ill report it to you. Regards, Roshan
Changing root password
Hi, We want to change our root password, because leaving it as a blank password is always a security risk. We would like to know whether this will affect the backup job (we are scheduling the BackupData.bat to run at specified intervals). Thanks for all your help!

When you do a "Add Note" under a request, once added you move the mouse over the left hand box which is in fact the delete button it actually says "To" as oppossed to delete
the server dont start
After install the OpManager 6 (Windows) i try start the server but a blink a DOS prompt in the screen and the server dont start i execute the command line: "C:\Arquivos de programas\AdventNet\ME\OpManager\jre\bin\javaw.exe" -Djava.library.path=.\lib -jar .\classes\OpManagerStartupCla but the system return "path not found" what can i do?
Memory utilization and optimization
Currently, running FA is using these resources (Windows version): Used Peak VM mysqld-nt.exe - 83MB 99MB 112MB java.exe - 99MB 133MB 200MB Is there any way to cut this memory usage down? Would it be better to use the Linux version? At the moment the memory usage is killing me on the server which only has 1GB.
ServiceDesk does not start after trial period is over
Hi, I tried ServiceDesk+ some time. Now my trial period is over and I bought a license key. Unfortunately SD+is not running any more, so I can not enter the license key. SD+ is not able to start any more. I even uninstalled SD+ and reinstalled it, but the server does not start. I even reinstalled my complete server running windows 2003 SP1 and installed SD+. More categories in Software Filter??
Is it possible to get some more categories in Software filtering? Like 'Freeware & Shareware' , 'License servers' , 'OEM' and so on. Some computers are delivered with Nero OEM and some are bought to computers. It should be great if we could se whats what. /M

I have also added dhtsdata1, a virtual server, but am not get disk space for that either. Interface Utilisation Not Working :(
I am monitoring a Cisco 2801 Router which is connected to a 2Mbps Leased Line. On other monitoring software I have been trialling, this link speed is reported correctly and therefore the Interface Utilisation is correct. From OpManager the link speed is not reported and therefore my Interface Utilisation is not being shown at all. Any ideas? Thanks.
Service Pack Install Fails....
I am getting an error that states that the service pack is not compatible with my product. "The file you have specified is not compatible with this product" I also have OpsManager on here
Exchange 2003 monitoring generates excess network traffic
I have noticed that network traffic between Opmanager server and remote Exchange 2003 servers is about 3-4 Gigabytes a month per server. I find that this is rather disturbing as monitoring almost equals SMTP traffic. Can someone explain what is generating this kind of traffic and if there is anything that can be done to reduce it without losing benefits from this add-on. Thanks

Bandwidth Mismatch
Hi, I have installed Netflow Analyser 4 on Linux. I have enabled the flow-export on my router. When I compare the bandwidth which is showing on the Analyser window and on the interface of serial, it is not matching. For ex. on the analyser on serial link it is showing 300K as traffic, but on my router it is showing 1.4Megs. Kindly someone help me in this regard why it is not matching ????? Regards, Girish.

Does the MS SQL capability include using an ODBC connection to an external SQL database? I have so many devices in opmanager now, it's outgrown it's current server. I have a more robust server ready, but this would be a good time, to convert it's database to MS SQL. Can you provide a link to the using an MS SQL dtabase information? Thanks!

User rights
Hello, Which rights must the user on the server have for authentication. I don't know how to explain in english, but look at the attached file :) Does he have to be an administrator because the administrator on our servers can monitor all servers/devices in europe/america/japan. Hi, There are something wrong for my opmanager. So I run the "repairdb.bat" to solve the problem. But I see a lot of error message. "warning: 5 clients is using or hasn't closed the table properly". How to fix it? Sam.
Device Type Settings
The device type setting did not update for the scan so now I need to go through and select each device individually to set the device type to Windows2003 for example.. or is there a bulk update method for this?
Web Form to Email
I am putting together a web form that will allow a requestor to submit a ticket into the queues. The form will just send an email into the system. I want to have a Text Field for CC. However when I send an email into the system I don't want the email to go to the CC people. Just have it in the system so when I reply it goes. Is there a tag in the body of the email I cna put in to specifiy a CC address? Somethign like: {CC} mail@mail.com

Export to PDF from Monitor Detail Screen?
I know that from the Reports screen you can export to PDF but is this possible from the following: Click on the device --> Go to Monitors ----> Click on one of the Resource Monitors This would be useful as the Reports menu dosn't always show the graph and when the graphs are viewed they are always really small on screen. SD+ and windows NT domain and users
Hi I have download demo SD+ latest version for testing. I have Windows NT SP6 domain, with 2000 server and All XP clients. Installed it well but I cannot scan network, cannot scan users, cannot scan workstation, I mean, it does find domain but not users not even workstations. SD+ does not work with NT Domain?? Business rules for technicians in teams/groups
Im trying to sort out a workaround so that two teams (groups) can easily view their requests for their particular team. (ie one team member can see all that is currently assigned to their team members) Currently I have set the system up so that the 'category' relates to a team (eg; field values are Team1, Team2) Reason for this set up is that when a request is assigned from a queue to a technician, you can no longer see what queue(team) it belongs to. Application Scaling and capacity
We have 2 7600 Routers with GigE connections to the internet, 1 on each router with full BGP-IBGP setup. What kind of hardware would be recommended for this setup. Would the application scale to that? It looks like it will, but that is a lot of data. thanks
Multiple Instances of SD+
Is it possible to have 2 separate instances of SD+ running on the same server? I understand a separate license will need to be purchased. We are interested in purchasing a second copy of SD+ and need to put it on the same server as our original copy if at all possible.

Workstation assigned to a department
I have created a workstation and assigned it to a department. But when a Requester that belongs to that department logins and tries to add a new request, the workstation doesn't appear in the dropdown list. I'm using ServicdDesk Plus 30 day trial (Version : 5.0.0 Build Number : 5003). Thank you.
Time Zone
How do I configure ServiceDesk to use the correct time zone? For example the Request Details, Created Date and Due Date appear to be GMT, but I would prefer my local time zone. Thanks for your assistance.
