Can i have a blank password
We are going to be using SD+ with just one login for all our end users to log in and enter requests. Is there any way to set the guest login (or a new login) without a password?
"Set as home page" not working
I am creating some business view right now. In the Mapmaker, I rightclick on the map I created, and perform "Set as home page" According to the doc, it should make that page the Opmanager Home page. It does not work. Should I restart the Central for that to appear. I am using Opmanager MSP (6001). Regards.
Upable to press any buttons
Hello I am hoping someone can fix my issues, I have installed the free version, but when i click onto any of the buttons, (new request, close etc etc) nothing happens what so ever, Any ideas. Andy
Scheduled Reports running simutaneously
I am running the latest version, and when I schedule more than one scheduled report to run at the same time, only one of them goes out.
Cannot resolve hostname. Using localhost by default
When I installed this on clients computer to demo, kept getting this error message at startup. Also the system always shows the next poll date in the past and does not appear to be polling.
Ability to add multiple attachments to Contracts
I find it strange that once a contract has been created it is impossible to attach a document without deleting it and starting over again. I think this should be added at least to be consistent with other parts of the system. In addition the abilty to add multiple attachments would be nice. Damian
User privileges
When I create a user it can either be full admin or read only Is there anything in between ? What if I want to give my user the authorization to anotate alarms etc, but I dont want them to "discover network" or other admin commands. Regards, J.
Mysql
OK we are looking at this software to be used over our lan that covers every state of australia. We have found that the scanning is not very good, it seems to miss lots of our computers maybe its becasue its Trail ??? Also we already have MS SQL can this be used instead of mysql. Any Ideas PS we run around 600 PC's and about 50 servers accross our private network all over australia.
Remote Workstation Scan
Will it be possible to scan remote computers that are not reachable? I have many distributed workers that rarely connect to the home office network, yet I still would like to have some record of their environment. It would be great to be able to send them an email that contains either a link or program that would scan the computer and send the results home. Asset Metrix uses a procedure like this. Structure of the MySQL Database
Hello, we'd like to do some automated calculation of the flow data by several scripts i.e. all traffic volume per ip address. We would like to use the MySQL database of NFA directly because the flow data is already there. I found some tables (i.e. Conversation24Hour or Conversation10Min) that seem to hold the information we need but when I do a query on that table and compare the total amount for a given timeframe with the the total traffic of NFA for the same timeframe there is always a difference.
Juniper Routers
Does someone use Netflow Analyzer with Juniper Routers? I'm testing it and I use a sampling rate of 10. That means that I'm recieving 1/10th of the packets and that's why I'm seeing 1/10th of my traffic. Does someone has a solution for this? The percentage does work, because I've set the bandwith on the routers. But the actual data isn't the real data. Gr. Edwin

Netflow Dudes, I noticed that Netflow 5.5 provides Automatic Scheduling and emailing of reports, though can you please tell me whether Netflow Analyzer5 (gold release) provide that feature or how that can be provided as a patch to the gold release of NFA5? regs, Angelo
Can database portion be located on another machine?
We're trying to move the servicedesk application to another machine, and a question came up about whether the database could be housed on another server vs the same one as the web server (apache). is this possible? What are the ramifications for doing so? Justin

hi, I have an out of the box install on a server 2003 machine. I am trying to install a SP for the 5000 build. I have changed nothing on the install and cannot get past running the updatemanager.bat. this is the error I get. request form out of shape
I'm currently configuring the request form for SD+. I've added several mandatory fileds, some of which are additional fileds. However, now when users log in (testing as guest user), one of the fileds is disappearing of to the right of the form, making it almost impossible for users to enter data into this additional mandatory field. The filed is called Asset Tag, and is on the right hand side of the form. see attached .jpg. Any ideas anyone?

I'm trying to add a couple DC's and keep getting the following error: Unable to get domain DNS / FLAT name What ports does ADManager use to communicate with the DC's? I assume at the very least port 389. Any other tips? Thanks in advance!
aix and hp-ux via snmp
Hello , I am interested in running my monitoring via snmp for these sever types due to the impact of ssh and telnet connections on the audit logging . My question is are there plans to encorperate this the same as solaris or will it always be a custom snmp monitor which is unacceptable to my company. many thanks
"Reply" feature
All, I've done a search here and couldn't find anything useful about this issue... When a tech uses the "Reply" feature to send a message to a requester, if the requester then does the obvious thing and replies to that email, it is logged as a new job rather than being appended to the existing job. Can we not, for instance, have a simple mail header with the request ID added in the message so that SD can assign the email to the existing job? Or am I missing something obvious?
Name Fields in Contact record inconsistant
I'm importing a large number of contacts and the name fields are inconsistant. During the import I can import First and Last Name as two different fields. The screen to edit a contact only has a Name field. Also, if you leave one of the name fields blank during the import, it shows "null" in the name. I would prefer two fields so the email templates could reference the first name only. Thanks, Neil
Checkpoint Logging Stops at Midnight when NG Logs Rollover?!
Running Checkpoint NG. Got it working great yesterday after entering an absolute path to the opsec.p12 file in the conf file. Worked excellent all day yesterday, but at midnight (when Checkpoint rolls over to a new log file), all logging stopped abruptly. Deleting the Checkpoint firewall in Firewall Analyzer and re-adding it again this morning made everything start working again. What can I do to prevent this from happening every night at midnight? Since the Account, Contact, and Support Rep items have additional fields, could we get some additional fields for Products? I can see having a couple of extra fields for a product (Serial Number, Asset Tag, etc.) being very handy...

When I am viewing large timescales, month or quarter, and my Utilization shows a Max. of 9.02%, how do I find the exact point in time when that occurred? I would like to do a work hours utilization report for the worst possible scenario. Thank you.

OpManage in AIX (Risc 6000)
Hello. I am trying to use OpManager to monitor a AIX server, OpManager recognize the box (shows me all server�s information) but it only monitor a Oracle service and Eth Interface. The Actives processes, disk, CPU and memory monitor arent�t being monitored. How can I configure it to monitor everything? I edited my snmpd.conf in the AIX and it seens to be ok. Thanks in advance. Few Questions
We have configured all the router to using Net flow to push the traffic to net flow analyzer server, we are not using SNMP/NBAR. 1. We have got one physical interface on few routers, after enabling the net flow on the physical interface; we got to see two interfaces on the web console, which is confusing. Incoming mail
Hi I have been testing the support desk software for the past two days. While configuring the incoming mail from our Exchange server I get the following error message using the IMAP. FAILURE :Email Settings saved successfully. But error occured while trying to check connection with mail server - Problem connecting to mailbox. I talked to our Network Engineers and they could not figure out the problem. But confirmed that they haven't blocked these ports. Can you please help us to solve this problem.

Hi Guys, Just purchased the product after a trial period, and very impressed ! I wondered if it would be possible to enhance the process of taking in requests from unknown contacts? At the moment we have the options:- 1. Not log the request. 2. Log the request but do not add the contact until approved. 3. Log the request and add the contact without approval. This works ok for us, but could in my humble opinion be improved:- 1. when a request comes in from a new contact/email address check the company
