I have just a few simple feature requests that I would like to see in future releases of SDP to make life easier for my staff: 1. Spell-checking on message input windows within SDP 2. Scheduled Active Directory Requester Import and Computer Inventory functions These are two of the most common complaints I receive from my staff on a regular basis--and have to manually take care of. Solutions given for router's Resource Monitor is not working
Hi, OPManager's free version is already running on my network from last 02 months (For testing purpose) and I added 18 devices in the OPManager and I am okay with all the monitors. When I entered IP address and SNMP community string in "Solarwinds" for one of my router the "CPU Utilization" and "Memory Utilization" monitors start working itself. But when I entered same IP address and SNMP community string in "OPManager" for the same router; It takes all the interface details itself but not showing

Ok, first of all our company just purchased opmanager to monitor a total of around 250 workstations and 500 servers, plus 50 or so network devices. While configuring opmanager to monitor a meer 100 servers and 2 network devices, without anything really unusual I've encountered many things that were either far harder than they should have been, hidden and hard to find, or various other things I would just like to list out in the hopes of seeing them improve or be fixed in the next version. MFSC question on reporting in / out traffic
How to I get traffic statistics with the MSFC going inbound and outbound. On a normal 2600 I can add ip route-cache flow to each interface however with the MSFC I only have virtual interfaces. Any ideas? We are running our 6500 in hybrid mode with both IOS and CATOS. Thanks!

"Oprational Hour" not working
Hi, I set the "Operational Hour" as 5 days week and 09:00 to 18:00 hrs. Netscreen 208
Hi, I have added a netscreen 208 firewall to monitor with opmanager ver 6. Opmanager is detecting the firewall device type correctly however it does not show all interfaces and vlans configured on the firewall. It only shows one interface which is connected to the internet. Do I have to enable anything on the firewall side. Thank you Ramzi

Hi Curretly I am evaluating netFlow but facing some probme with report export. After exporting report to PDF format info was missing from exported report (please see attached screen shot) and this change ramdomy i.e. some time missing volume min/max and some time average info from volume/speed and utilization. Not able to see the forward request/massage(with screenshot)
Hi, There are two option on the request web page i.e. "reply" and "forward" but if i forward the request to some one else then later on i am not able to see that forwarded message in the option of "conversation" or in �history� or any other place on that web page like in the case of "reply" option we can see all the details� such as when and what message is sent to the requester. Non-HTML Email Option
We are in desperate need of a non-html email option. We use GroupWise 5.5 for our entire company which does not display your HTML emails. All we are able to get is the mime and part attachments with no why to see them properly. We had not issues with this under 4112.
Multiple Domain Inventory Scan
We have multiple domains which have two way trusts that we scan. If we scan a domain that the SD is not a member of, the domain scan fails. If you scan an individual machine using the FQDN such as machine.remotedomain.com it works...but if you use machine name only but set the domain name to remotedomain in the Domain Name field and set the scan type to Domain - it fails. So when you do a "NEW SCAN", if it looks like this: Workstation Name / IP = machinename.remotedomain.com Scan Type = Domain Domain

We are in the process of evaluating Network Flow analyser on Cisco 2621XM router. Network flow software from Adventnet was installed on Windows XP proff SP1 as per the system requirements. Why One workstation name exist for many times in the SDP? for example: workstation name:SHIS-YONIKOCH1D,ID in SD+:2170 SHIS-YONIKOCH1D,ID in SD+:2271 Two workstations in SD+ have all same information(Include IP),actually there is only one PC named SHIS-YONIKOCH1D in our company! I want to know which are SD+ Identifi the workstation?I think it must not be only machine name or machine name+IP! Thanks a lot! Ryan
Create custom report on device response time via MySql
I'm running some ETL processes to pull utilization, availability and now need to get Response Time data for devices. What table and columns in OpManagerDB hold Response Time data? What Instance, Name should I be looking for? I've been trying to find in POLLEDDATA and AVAILABILITY_STATISTICS but can't seem to find it. Thanks for you help.

Starts Fine but has /fw/mindex.do error
I have installed the Firewall Analyzer on an Ubuntu 6.06 system. It installed fine and appears to start fine, but when I pull up the web page I get the following error. type Status report message /fw/mindex.do description The requested resource (/fw/mindex.do) is not available. I've searched the forum and saw a similar post, with an issue dealing with libpamso.0, and I do have that file located in /lib. Also, I've installed the application in /usr/local. Exchange section - last polled value = N/A
From an earlier post: "Apparently the issue was, the hostname of this server wasn't in the host file, and OpManager was starting up using the name localhost. This worked ok for discovery, but apparently polling wanted the real name. The software is polling now correctly. Switch Port Mapper Problem
Hello, I am trying out OpUtils 4, I tried out 3.2 I liked it a lot 4 is a lot faster and seems more robust. One problem, we don't have routers in our network and before in OpUtils 3.2 I could use a server with SNMP enabled to instead of a router for better MAC address resolution and DNS resolution. However, now even though it says Router/Server (Optional) when I put the server in (same one I used in 3.2) it says Error: Not a Router. Is this just a bug? Thanks, Chad
Server Disk Usage Report Graphs Don't Display Correctly.
I have set it up so that myself and several other members of the tech. department at our company get emailed daily with disk usage reports. Each drive on each server is reported, and a graph appears showing simply and graphically how many is being used. Its very nice. You guys did a great job with this. The problem however is that some don't have green for the low usage or red for the high usage - in fact they only have the black outline and the white box, with no white or red at all. This makes

Feature Request - Resolution
Is it possible to add into the Resolutions a second Field for searchable informations which are not viewable for the Requester (this information should also not included in the Mails to the Requester). Background: Many times we have several technical informations regarding to the current issue which we want to store in the Workorder. Noticed this today while doing some maintenance on a domain controller... We've got SDP 5.5 setup to use active directory authentication, which normally works fine. However when I took a DC down temporarily, SDP will not authenticate AD users. My DCs are properly setup to be redundant, and all my other AD aware applications work fine, including network logins, Exchange, etc. Thoughts? Endaar
Error in downloading client files from BE
Is anyone getting this error that is using a remote SQL Server 2000 system. The database was created on the server but we have yet to get past that error. We have been unable to even demo the app.
Changing default mysql pass in applications manager 7
I am trying to change the default password of appmanager for the mysql database for Applications Manager 7. How can I monitor UniVerse DB
We currently have a fairly large installation base of UniVerse Database on AIX servers. I was wondering if AdventNet Application manager can monitor the UniVerse database? THe parameters I would like to watch are whether there are any Active Read Waiter locks held for a considerable amount of time?, CPU utilization by UniVerse, memory, etc... If someone has another tool which they are presently using to monitor UniVerse, I would be grateful if you can forward me info on it..

Is there any way to manually add new users to the help desk from AD without overwriting everything, The problem we have is we have recently had several new teachers that need access to the helpdesk i would like them to use domain authentication instead of local and log on using there Domian name + Password. SSH with public key
Hi All, Im trying to add new monitor using SSH with public key. I already generated public and private keys using ssh-keygen -t dsa. I tested the connection using interactive ssh-client with private and public keys and its working. In AppsManager I choose Public Key Authentication and paste my private key and update and it prompts me this asking for the password. Request id gets garbled
Can somebody tell me how to avvoid having the 'number' sign garbled? Sometimes I want to append information to an existing request via email. To do this I include the request id in the email subjet field. Still, sometimes the 'number' sign ("#" is somehow "translated" into something else. Example: "Request id ##4698##" turns into "Request id =23=234698=23=23?=" Strange thing is that this does not always happen. This problem results in new requestes being generated instead of having the email appended

Hi there, I'd like to know how can I make some custom MIBs downloaded from Juniper site work: http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/software/index_mibs.html I have to monitor some custom SNMP attributes on a Netscreen firewall, but even if I upload these MIBs to ManageEngine Applications Manager (v. 6) they don't work (I have some errors in parsing). Any suggestion? The attributes that I'm interested in are those about the status of a VPN. Is there some other standard MIB I can use otherwise? Thanks in

I am trying to uninstall the Application Manager but it complains that the folder "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{e6aea16f-0377-42b0-b4eb-7fa3dbbfdfaf}" still exist and I have to delete it. But when I delete it and try again then it says that it can not restore the uninstall directory to its old location .... Any one knows what to do? Sam
