IP Grouping - % Calculation
Hi, Great Product by the way. We currently have a WAN ring in place between all our sites, this runs at 100Mbps all round. We have approx 20 Routers exporting flows. I have setup IP grouping for the differnt Areas of the Business. When i look aty the Stats and it give me a reading that for example Acconuts are at 90% out traffic, does that mean that the total amount of traffic on the WAN at that present hour is 90% of traffic from the accounts department?? deleting admin account
Hi I've just bought a 1 user licence for OPUtils. I want to delete the admin account and create and account that only I know the username and password. How do I do this? I can't see anywhere to delete the admin account and until I do I cant create another account as I only have 1 user licence. With the ability of OpUtils to be able to upload a config to a device its too much of a security risk to have the default username and password on the login page. Any help would be appreciated
Exchange 2003 Monitoring error
I tried to monitor my brand new exchange 2003 server but i've some values which don't return values. The monitor don't respond to OPmanager 's test. I have WMI and SNMP enabled on my server with no firewall. Can somebody help me or have an idea to get those values? Thanks for answering.[/img]

I could add two Tomcat 5.5 servers as monitors without any problems. They are inside our network (intranet). I am having trouble with one Tomcat 5.5 server which is located in DMZ (accessible on Internet). Is there anything special that needs to be done for DMZ server. I entered IP address, port (in this 80). Manager is running and I entered user and password correctly. The error I get is "Service port 80 not accessible from ....." Any help will be appreciated. SD+ 6008 with MySQL - Failing to import AD users
Hi Any advice on getting SD+ to import AD users as requesters? OS: win2k3 DB: MySQL (as installed) The process shows the OU's available and then scrolls through the 300 user accounts but ALL of them are dropped as FAILED records. Not sure how to fix... Hi everyone, I have currently 2 devices in alarm, and when i try to acess the device in opmanager i get the follow info message: Status Message Unable to find the object : "ip_address" I can not acess it, so i can not delete them, and when i try to re-add it it says: Device already present in system. Average resolution time report
Hi team We are (still) using SD+ V5.50 and want to know if there is a way to get an "average resolution time" report? Essentially it would just need to look at created time, completed time, the count of records. I have run a report with those fields, but because of the way us "aussies" view date formats (dd-mm-yyyy) the excel exported data is just not manageable Any ideas would be good. Is this report available in V6? Cheers.
Transfer SD to a new installation, without the old requests
I am currently testing SD+ on Win XP Pro PC. Over the past few months I have setup various templates, requesters, solution etc... I am moving SD+ to a Windows 2003 test server. I want to transfer this data but I do not want to transfer the requests that I have created over the past few month�s i.e. new server starts from request ID 1. Is there a straight forward way of doing this, rather than setting up SD+ from scratch?
fwanalyzer on windows issues
I have now been trying to test this application for couple weeks. I have it running on windows server 2003 enterprise with 4GiGs of ram & 830GiG's RAID 5 data storage. Resource monitors on Windows 2003 server
I'm trying to setup the resource monitors in OpManager 7 beta for a windows 2003 server. I have enabled SNMP under windows and adjusted the settings as per the OpManager User Guide. I have added the SNMP resource monitors for HDD, CPU, and memory to the device in OpManager and entered the correct community string. OpManager seems unable to retrieve the information it needs to show these monitors. I tried copying the Object ID from OpManager and pasted it directly into the MIB Browser. I get a message

cpu utilization.
opmanager doesnt seem to capture the cpu utilization for my routers. i have done the troubleshoot and everything is fine. opmanager managed to capture the memory utilization but not the cpu utilization. any solutions?

MSP Customer Ticket Access
I'm currently evaluating OpManager MSP and would like to give customers access to the ticket section so they can log there own requests. The problem is that non of the accounts can get access via the main login page, only users created as support reps have access. Is there a different URL to use to get direct access to the ticket section? thanks
Detect Netgear switches
Hello, We have netgear and cisco switches. IF I make a manual scan, adding some ip devices, I have seen that the cisco devices are detected with all the details related to the model. The netgear switches instead are identified as unknown. The snmp is required in both switches. Is it possible to increase the number of devices in the archive of the Opmanager? Im' using the 6 version Mulitple Probes. Let me know. THanks

Save data when changing type of monitor
Sometimes we have to change a monitor (e.g. CPU utilization) from CLI to SNMP. After this change all data for this monitor are lost. Is there a way to save the data, change monitor type and the restore the data? Regards, Volker

Why do different AdventNet applications default to different install locations? E.g. some to c:\AdventNet and others to C:\Program Files\AdventNet? It would be nice if this was standardized. David.

Closed tickets dissapearing?
Has anyone else had tickets disappear after they are closed?
Time Spent Reports do not reflect second technician's
When running reports of time spent, tickets that had time spent entries by more than one technician do not reflect that a second technician spent time on the ticket. We often collaborate or pass off the ticket to a different technician, so the Time Spent reports should show all technicans time spent, not just the Technician showing as currently assigned. Thanks
New closing rules
Does anyone know if we can add new closing rules. We want requests to escalate as follows. Open>Pending/on hold > Resolved > Closed. We want to make it so that only accounting can close a ticket. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dom
'notes' icon
this is probably more of a development idea, but is there any way to show when multiple notes have been added to a request. When in the requests view, the notes icon changes to yellow when notes have been added. We use the notes a lot as a conversation with a requester. so is there a way of showing on the requests list page when notes were updated, or how many notes have been added. its a bit of a pain to have to go into a detailed look at each request to find this info.

There have been many requests and many promises that this was going to be added soon. I am seeing other things getting fixed and even a new ITIL feature in the works.. So where is the SSH support falling into the release schedule

I have recently been trying to decipher a way to get all my requesters in helpdesk into the correct depts. They do not import from AD and when I create a CSV from AD with the correct dept. field and import a user for example.John Doe has a profile currently, I import the csv that came from AD with his correct dept and for some reason it duplicates the dept in the dept's drop down list. SD+ upgrade confusion
what is the upgrade path? we have SD+ 6 build 6003 and from what I gather the Asset Explorer integration was supposed to be a service pack install/upgrade? Is this available now, from previous posts it was may 2007? what about this ITIL ? is it replacing AE now? I stopped applying patches after they started killing functionality of the product, is there a stable upgrade path?
Creating a Customised View to include Tasks Linked to Reques
We use our Service desk plus (v6.) for our IT Helpdesk Requests as well as our Business Systems Improvement Teams Development Requests from users. This is causing problems with assigning Due dates because the development items that BSI deal with oviously take longer than the assigned due date according to our system set up SLA's. We have agreed to overcome this problem by putting the requests "On Hold" and then linking tasks to that request based on the lifecycle stages of the development project.

How do I create an alert for access to certain websites, like YouTube? I tried creating it, by using URL starts with www.youtube.com, but its not working. aix authentication
Hi, I have authentication issues with AIX servers. The security setting does not allow first time sign on as root, you can only SU to root. When I install ServiceDesk on the new server, can I just install build 6008 or do I have to install ServiceDesk the same way it was installed on the old server (install version 5, install all the service packs until I get to build 6008)?
