Fresh import of users & machines from AD
Hello all, I have just been informed that after 1 month of me setting up SD+ as good as possible the domain we all log on to is changing. Now how can I do a complete fresh import of assets and users from domain, and purge all the users and machines from SD+ that are currently there under the soon to be defunct domain?? Gotta love departmental communication :twisted:
Business View Custom Shortcut Icon
Hello, I've been playing around with the demo, trying to see if I can create an adequate view of my network, and I've run into the need of using custom shortcut icons. The only problem is that I don't know where to drop the images into. For custom device icons its simply /images/devices, but I don't know where to put the custom icons for shortcuts. Any help? Thanks
Service Monitor Status does not update
The Service Monitor Status does not update the status of the service, when it is recovered. Monitoring a linux box via Linux Agent SNMP I have added teh service monitor SMTP when I trun off smtp, the monitor shows the service is down, when I bring it back up, it does not update the alarm and the status of the screen. I even updated the status and brought down the monitoring time to 1min. Is this a known issue? Please advise
MSSQL Monitors Not Working
I am trying to setup MSSQL monitors and am not having any success. I think the problem is that SNMP monitoring is not working on the OPManager side. When I test the credentials the SNMP works. However when I try to test my specific MSSQL monitor that is SNMP it is not able to connect. I followed these instructions http://support.opmanager.com/sd/AddSolution.sd?solID=10501 and in the MIB browser I get this error: Sent get request to localhost : 161 No data available in this sub-tree I have verified

I am looking for feedback from organizations who are currently running SDP version 7. Did you have to perform a fresh install or did product support provide you with a migration package? Was the migration problematic? Were you able to retain your historical data? Thanks
User Report Question
Hello In the User Report there is a topic called: Resource Group Access Details for the User This shows the groups a user is in an his acces Details. But in my case it will just show a user if the user is defined in the group with his domain name. It he is definded as part as a group the report will show nothing under this topic !? Is this normal, a bug or am i doing something wrong? Thanks for help Michel
IT Service Desk Notifier
Itservicedesk notifiers which are sent externally, queue on the mail relayers and do not send , the receiving mail systems appear to timeout when accepting the smallest of notifiers. There are no anti spam measures which are kicking in and mail can be sent directly from the mailbox to the external customers emal address with no issues. The issue I believe is to do with the Java process which creates the mail notifier, has anyone else suffered with this problem. Any info would be much appreciated.

i would like to integrate the service help desk plus with my intranet site which i will be developing.i will be using tomcat. i would even like to know if i can customize the help desk i.e there are a few features which i may not be using.so is there any option of customizing?
ServiceDesk Crashing Again
SDP ver 6 Build 6014 Hi I am experiencing lots of issues with SDP Crashing. It appears to crash every night & also sometimes during the day. Firewall Analyzer says Syslog server is down
I have just installed Firewall Analyzer for the first time. I want to use it for my Cisco Pix 515e. I can see my syslog server being populated with informational and above logs from the firewall, but when I got to add a syslog server and type the Server IP of the syslog server and the port of udp/514 (which is what my Cisco Pix is using) it says the status is down. If I change the port to udp/1514 or any other port it says the status is up. Is this because that port is already in use on that server?
On hold to Open doesn't properly adjust Due By
Running SDP 7 build 7009 I have had a task on hold for the last 3 working days, and changed it to open this morning. Before doing this I took a note of the due by date. When the task was changed to open the due by date had only changed by 4 hours. Surely if the task has been onhold for 3 days, the due by date should change by the same amount?

Scanning Disposed Assets. Y?
We have noticed that if an asset (Workstation) has been disposed and the daily scan is enabled, servicedesk tries to scan this item. Why? If an item is disposed surely it should be excluded from scanning?
Enterprise x individual software
Hi !!! Anyone could explain difference between Enterprise license software and individual license. I have more than 100 Windows Server 2003 CAL's license, and when I put this on the SDP, i got 100 individuals licenses. I thought that choosing Enterprise, I'll only see one on the list, but, whit a amount of 100. Tks in advance !!!
unable to merge requests
Why is it that when i try to merge several requests together an error page comes up stopping the process to finish? When i try to merge a page saying HTTP 500 Error comes up. What is this? can anyone give me some hellp on this?
"Last Polled at" and "next Polled at" ar
Hello Support Team we use the MSP Ed. and we have the following Problem: after some time the Values of "Last Polled at" and "next Polled at" will be not correct displayed. When we do a "Rediscover Now" then it will be correct displayed for a short time. We have registered this Problem not on all Devices. Usage meetering
Are there any plans for implementing "license Meetering"? As it is now you only have the sparse information of "Often, Frequently, rarely" and so on. This is not sufficient if you want to know if some licenses could be spared. It would be very nice to have actual timestamped usage meetering including max. simultaneous use at any given time. This feature should include a predefined report in the reports section showing at least key-figures for "managed" applications /Erling

Oputils build 4407 Switch Port Mapper
Was wondering if anyone has noticed some issues with the switch port mapper utility with the 4407 build. It is behaving much like it did a few releases ago. I am usually able to add switches just fine, but if I manually scan an existing switch, the scan goes and goes and will never stop. I am curious if there is a new bug in the tool. This could cause some havok on the port availability reports and what not. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
Import resource issue w/5
I am having some issues importing resources with version 5 This afternoon I imported 113 resources, but only 111 showed up. I checked the Audit logs, and there are no references to the 2 resources that are misplaced. I did an export of the database, and compared the 2 spreadsheets, and have found the 2 resources that were missed. My question, are there any constraints on importing resources? I received the "Resources were successfully imported" message, and there is no log file on the server as specified

Web applications monitoring from Weblogic
I am trying to add Web applications from our Weblogic Web server. It can see the Domain but when I Select it, it gives me the following message: There are no Management Beans (MBeans) for the selected domain. Try adding from another domain or provide another filter criteria. How can I set up a monitor for my Apps?

error when adding business rule
Greetings, When attempting to add a business rule (descriptions contains --> move to item), I receive the following error and the rule is not added. Application mapping not working on a port I've added
Hi, I've just added UDP 4500 port in the Application Mapping to be shown as "Cisco VPN Client" but my Netflow still shows "UDP_App" and [show ports] when I go into show ports it shows the UDP port 4500 in either the source or destination. Why does it not say "Cisco VPn Client"? Thanks
In + Out = Total?
This may be a dumb question, but its early here. I have a 3Mb link between two sites. If the In is showing 1.5 and the Out is showing 1.2, should i be looking at a total usage of 2.7 (or nearly all) of my bandwidth? The chart makes it look like only half is in use - does this make sense? TIA

I am not able to see the whole URL, when i do the association between manil notification and URLs. These are things that i did, 1) we created a e-mail notification. consider it is named as NOTIFY1 2) went to maps menu --> server. 3) clicked a server 4) selected notification profile tab in the bottom of the page. 5) selected the NOTIFY1 profile and pressed next button (we want to associate this email profile to a url) 6) click the [selected...] URL monitor is down link 7) it displayed all the URLs
nbar - does this add much more CPU and Mem usage to router?
Hi, our corp Internet router is a Cisco 2600, if am receiving neflow stats, but have yet to turn on the nbar option. Will this slow our Internet down or increase the CPU or Mem alot on the router? We have a 10mb lease line. Thanks
OpManager 6 Database - Reduce size?
Hi, I'm runing build 6015 and my database has reached almost 20GB. I have changed my settings to the following: Maintain 10000 recent alarms in the database. Delete events older than 30 day(s) in the Database. Detailed statistics will be maintained for the last 15 day(s). Hourly statistics will be maintained for the last 45 day(s). Daily statistics will be maintained for the last 45 day(s). This is fine going forward, but how can I get all the old stuff that was already there out of the database?
I can not see SNMP monitors
Hi All, I have noticed that on some servers I can not add SNMP monitoring for CPU, disk utilization, free disk space, memory utilization. SNMP is working OK on these servers. The strange is, that when I am trying to add monitors for server there ar no SNMP 'option' for these 'performance' monitors, they are showed only in WMI version. Monitoring servers are Windows 2003, OpManager 7021, Professional. Regards Slawek J-G.
HP 5308xl - Enable sFlow for single port
We have an HP 5308xl switch that we would like to sFlow data from. I only want to receive sFlow data from a single port, which is port F14 on the switch. I have found a little information on enabling sFlow globally, but none on enabling for a specific port. I've searched through the HP site and across the internet, but I'm stuck. Does anybody have any information on this. I would like to see this type of information in a FAQ section here on the web site for all devices. Thanks in advance, Matt
Read-only or full access is only editable when creating user
If I create a user and then go back into the user manager, I cannot see if that user was setup as read-only or with write access. The 2 options are gone. It is only visible when creating users. Shouldnt it be visable afterward ?
