Asset Relationships

Asset Relationships

I've found I can only assign a service defined to 1 asset in the relationship screen.
Also it appears i can only link an asset to one other asset in the relationship screen.

That is for SERVERA on it's relationship screen I can hav that assigned the Business Service SHARED PRINTING and associate it with SERVERDC1

For SERVERB I can't assign that the SHARED PRINTING service, it is on the list of services but when I save the salection the relationship is not added or shown.
Similarly I can't add the connection to SERVERDC1 as that is not on the list to select.

What I am trying to do I show a small farm of print servers that host the enterprise printing solution in this example.

I also want to show relationships between servers, so if ServiceA relies on ServiceB or a physical server ServerX then I'd like to model that in the relationships. Then it makes Service Impact analysis much easier. I can see what would happen if a particular server was taken out of service during the day or if it failed. It helps show those forgotten relationships that typically occur, you take down server B and a service on Server H stops working seemingly for no reason!

No doubt this is all documented somewhere and I'm trying to do something it was not intended to do, just seems like it should.

Kind Regards,
Andy
