Hi There, I am having trouble finding the area to bulk change the attribute: -- Automatically update e-mail addresses based on recipient policy I can do it via a template when I create a user, but I cannot find how to change it across the organisation OU. removing spaces from username
We are using ADManager for the bulk creation of our student accounts, the format we use for their logon name is firstname.lastname@.... I have set up the template an all is working fine, until I hit those user that have a double first name or last name i.e a user whos first name is joe and last mame is de jonge will have a username of "joe.de jonge@..." Or if a users first name is Tian Yang and last name of chang the we end up with "tian yang.chan@..." Is there anyway to have the spaces taken out
Password Complexity
We have not configured AdSelfService yet and are still researching its capabilities. Within the Admin section, are we able to set password complexity that user's must adhere to? For example, create a rule that says all users must have a 10 character password with a mix of letters and numbers?
Same Contact, Different Accounts
Hi Everyone, Wondering if i could please get some advice? We have around 400 contacts. Some of these contacts move between accounts (they are never at the same account at the same time). At the moment, we create 1 contact record for each account they belong to. We do this becuase, if we simply update the Account, the system updates the requests to say they belong to the new account, which is not correct. Does anyone know of way to allow for us to create one contact, but switch them between accounts

Monitor Group dependencies
How can monitor dependencies be configured to prevent multiple alerts. Such as: 1 SQL box hosting the database for 10 websites. All 10 websites have a dependency on the SQL box, but how can we prevent getting 10 alerts (1 from each URL monitor) if the SQL box goes down and hence the correct page content is not returned? -KHeide

adding work log should default to logged on technician
When adding a work log entry, the technician pulldown should default to the technician logged in and typing, not the technician the ticket is assigned to. The frequency that someone is recording work on behalf of the assigned technician is very, very, very low as compared to other members of the team recording their own work contributions. Build 7005 .

What's the method for moving from one version to the other? Can the later simply be installed over the top of an existing configuration, or does it require a fresh install and data restore from backup?

Catgeory levels in reports
Weve reently implemednted SDP and I'm refining call categories and sub-catgeories. When running reports, I only appear to be specific to the first sub-catgeory level (i.e catgeory = application, sub-category = accounts). We have in a couple of instances become more granular and have a furtther sub-category of Db lock (under accounst sub-category). But I cant see this when I use the search filer. Can you only go down 2 levels on categories when report filerting (i.e catgeory and sub-category) ?

AppManage vs Concord EHealth
We currently have concord ehealth and are evaluating alternatives such as appmanage. Two major concerns we have are due to the fact that app manage is agentless. Can app manage scale to provide detailed performance statistics on 300 windows / linux servers and 200 pieces of network equipment? Also how does appmanage handle a server crash? currently ehealth agents store a certain amount of information in the event of a loss of connectivity to the server, this way no statistical information is lost.
Auto refresh bug?
I have tried to use the auto refresh option . I found that if I was entering data in the quick create box when the auto refresh happened I would lose all the details I had keyed in. Is this a software bug? Or have I got a bad browser setting? David
Exception occured while getting graph properties for DiskUti
I've just re-install the software OpManager. For all systems I do a test of credentials and snmp and wmi pass, however, when i go to the screen shot of the pc i get no monitors and when i try to add any i get the error "Exception occured while getting graph properties for DiskUtilization" Anyone know how to fix this?

Stop Timer disappears
Quite simply if you use Stop Timer and then later Start Timer, the Timer options disappear from your action menu. This is under build 7009.

SSL with Microsoft CA
I belive I am at an impasse with this software but thought I would try the forum before giving up. It appears to me that tomcat has no way of creating a certificate request that I can use with the certificate server I have on my Windows domain. Has anyone had success or know of a way to use a certificate from Microsoft's CA? Any help would be appreciated. Yossarian
timespent report not reporting dept
Im running a timspent by dept report. Departmnet is selected in display columns - but it does not show up in the report. Is this a known bug ? The report I get splist the time spent down into sections and a totla of time at the bottom, but by not showing the dept column, provides me littel use in terms of easily identifying what time we have spent of which companies of the ones we support.
How can I change the Monitor Group a Monitor is in?

Install problem
Just installed OpManager7, downloaded from the website this morning. When trying to start, got errors about libdbm, etc, fixed that. How to prevent Alert being viewed by operator level user
I want to know if there is a way to prevent Alert being viewed by other user. I created users for each site so that they can only view their own site traffic. The problem is when there is an alert on one of the site, it is reflected globally on the general alerts section. Is there a way to localized the alert so the user can only view the alert generated by his/own assigned device groups being monitored? Thanks in advance.

Bug in setting asset to None
I had a call which I duplicated with the requestor's asset assigned to the call. I opened each duplicate call in turn, chose the top most Edit function and changed the requestor and since the asset was now incorrect hit the + icon and changed it to None and hit Save. I then change the description, delete an attachment and hit Update. However, on the call details screen the asset has reverted to the original asset, not None. Users with international characters in usernam can not logon
The requesters i import from ActiveDirectory that has international characters in their username gets "Username or password incorrect" error when trying to login to ServiceDesk Plus Version 6.0.0 build 6012. When can we expect support for international characters?
Software licenses in 7 vs Software license assets in 6
In v6 I was using custom fields in my software licenses/assets to track additional info. If I'm not wrong, in v7, software assets are now resources of type software. When I open the detail info of a software asset/license/resource, v7 doesn't display my UDF fields. I ran a query and can see that the data is there, but SD+ doesn't display it. On the other hand, computers, which are now also resources, do display my UDF fields. Is it a bug in my migration or is it by design?
SDP 7 search
Is it possible to have a search box that will search everything, including the description please? I find it rather tedious having to manually go through requests to find the one I am after. I know we could probably use the subject line better, but considering we are running SQL server, why shouldn't we be able to use the searching power of SQL?
