SDP Version : 7.0.0 Build 7009 Next Scheduled Scan showing "Not Configured" even though scans have been configured - see image. Also, "Check for newly added workstations" does not remember any figure - ie. If I enter 7 days it will show a blank box when you return - see image.
mysql.sock not found
Hello I update my AppManager7 to 8. Initially it was working fine but after few days its stop working, I tried a lots of attempts to start but no result. Now when I try to start it, it gave me an error that the ../working/mysql/mysql.sock not found. So how can I resolve this problem. Any idea
Asset List Not Being Shown to Requesters
I have asked this before and emailed support but I have not seen anything back. None of my requesters can see the full asset list when filling out the web form. I have checked to make sure the "Show workstations associated to requester in Self-Service Portal " is NOT checked but it makes no difference. It worked fine in v6, then we upgraded and it no longer shows the full list. AdventNet can forget us paying the Invoice if they do not start providing some real support. This crap about it will be
AS400 Graph
There is no graph generated when monitoring AS400. Both SNMP and CLI passed the testing. When I test for CPU utilization it also passed. What seem to be the problem. It cannot generate the necessary graph and data. Please help. thank you..

Resolved but resolution remains Open
Once a resolution has been entered into a call I'd expect the status to change to Resolved, since you can't have more than one resolution there's no reason to enter anything here unless that is the case. Is there a way to make this happen, or does it need to be done manually every time?
Ethernet Interface Traffic possible with Opmanager?
Is it possible to monitor ethernet interface traffic..both inbound and outbound ? If so how do I go about adding this test/monitor. Thanks in advance for your help. P.S. I'll continue to poke around the forums to see if i can find a solution in the mean time.

When I open up a ticket and select a requester the contact number is not being populated. I made sure the requester has a contact number listed and they do. What is causing this?

MySql Database Table Creation Errors
I have OpManager 6 installed on a Fedora Core 6 machine. When trying to start the server, by being in the bin directory and issuing ./StartOpManagerServer.sh I get several mysql table creation errors, which appear to be due to the names of the tables. Searching within Service Desk
How do you search through notes and key phrases within the requests in Service Desk? I'm having a problem that I've had before and I know that I added a note to a similar ticket with the solution to the problem and can't find a way to search through notes so I'm wondering if that's possible and if so how you do it. Domain Logon FAILS
I have recently completed our upgrade to the latest version of SDP (Version : 7.0.0 Build Number : 7010). We've been using AD Integration all along since v6 build 6008. After the upgrade, and after enabling passthrough authentication, suddenly no one can logon with their domain credentials. I tried disabling AD PTA, and even restarting the SDP service - still no joy. The only way I can get in is to be on the server running SDP and logon using the local tech credentials. So - what's happened???
JNDI Lookup fails after Jboss restart
Hello, We are evaluating Application Manager, and we noticied that when we restart on of our Monitored Jboss server, all the JMX data collecting process is not working anymore. I guess this is a bug in application manager, where the class com.adventnet.adaptors.clients.AbstractJMXConnector should do -again- a JNDI lookup to insure the JNDI reference is correct. Parent-Child relationships of monitors possible?
Here is the scenario: I have a Linux server, running tomcat. We have a monitor on the server, another monitor for tomcat, and monitors on the URLs that are served by the tomcat server. Can applications manager be configured so that the URLs are children of the tomcat process, and the tomcat process is child of the linux server? If the entire server is offline, I don't need alerts on each and every URL on the box. I looked for a way to associate the URLs with the tomcat monitor but didn't find any.
Cannot use ServiceDesk WebClient
We have been using the new version of SDP for a week now, and today when i re-started our server which has SDP on it, when i logged back on, i cannot access the SDP web client... i simply get a page cannot be displayed error. I restarted the Service. Shutdown the SDP server and re-started the SDP server... still no luck. Can someone help??
Synthetic Transactions Possible?
We are currently evaluating Applications Manager. I am wondering if it can log onto a webpage that is not protected by the normal httpd auth mechanism, but by a form on the webpage itself. I did not see any way to configure this in the monitor settings. We would like to allow Applications Manager to test our application, but it can't do so effectively if it can't log in.

What's the difference between running backupdata.bat and the built in backup in version 7? The file size for the one created by v7 is almost half the size even though both the database and file attachments is checked off..
Remote Script execution
Hi, I'm looking for the ability to execute remote scripts on linux/unix servers and be able to set a threshold on the output they produce. I know this ability exists in the Application Manager product, but I need to also be able to monitor network elements like routers and switches - an option that does not exist there. I want our server farm administrators to have a single complete view of the network, so I do not wish to divide the monitors across two monitoring systems. Is it possible to implement
tasks within a request
Does anyone know if there is a way to lay out a process. example: Cable request process. initially, the request comes in and auto launches 2 tasks for different groups. once the first groups' task is done, the system would auto launch a 3rd task for another group...etc... I need to be able to "stagger" my tasks or put in dependancies for launching other tasks. Anyone know if there is a way to do this? Thanks much.
AIX oracle monitor with RHEL4

But when you oracle monitor, it show following error. Unable to add the Interface for IP Address 192.168.0.220. Kindly check whether the machine has dual interface.If it has dual Interface try adding with the another IP Address. Please help Sam Tang

SD+ 7009 crashes IE7 (Vista) on selecting sub-categories
In a request, when selecting a drop-down field for either a sub-category or item where no field has been configured (in category admin), IE7 will crash. This is repeatable on Vista environments. I cannot confirm whether this is occurring in XP.
OpManager MSP: Communication between Central & Probe-Som
Hello there! Upon going through the forum topics (& blog too!) i found out that the Probe always PUSHES the data to the Central (i.e. one-way initiation, always first to do so). 1. On what factors does this happen... Alarms? or is it a continuous process? 2. Can the PUSH from Probe to Central be controlled e.g. something like polling interval, periodicity etc? Or is it ONLY on an 'on-demand' basis? 3. When does the Central initiate the comm process? 4. How is the availability of the Probe checked?

Asset field keeps getting cleared.
Has anyone noticed that when you view a request and change anything like the [Category] or assign a technician, the Asset field gets cleared and you have to go and select the workstation again? This is becoming annoying because some of our people don't always remember what Assest was selected before it gets cleared. I am starting my list of things that are not working in V7 and I am a little surprised at some of the things I have found after waiting 6 months to upgrade. I would have thought that

Another Reports Problem.
HI, I have had no issues with reports as such, email works, attachments work, I am just not able to schedule the reports I need. There is the option to "PDF" some reports but not for the comparison reports. and what I really need is the ability to schedule the comparison reports for the last 4 weeks or so.. is it possible? I cant find anywhere to set it... any ideas would be greatly appreciated... Drew
Database Corruption
Good day all -- We are running 7024 with MySQL native and had problems where you get the prompt at login to run the database repair. I ran the repair and noticed we were still having some problems that included: Can't sort systems, can't add a name to a system and we had doubled the count of our servers. It appeared we had a seperate entry for an IP address and an entry for a name for each server. Credential Test Failed
When testing the "Credential Test", SNMP and CLI test failed. We checked the same test at AdventNet OpManager demo program. http://demo.opmanager.com/ The results were the same. Split request feature doesnt send Acknowledgement to contact
Hi Support, Could you include in your roadmap that when a request is split using the "split as new request" option if the "Acknowledge Contact by Email when a new request is received" option is turned on in the Admin options, that the customer gets a confirmation number for this split. Last Updated vs. Last Changed
Hey Hey, There seems to be a disconnect between what 'Last updated' means. This should reflect the last time that a Request had an item changed within it -- ie. If a request has a status change, or is assigned to a different group etc etc it needs to be reflected in a noticable field. Although we may not send a reply to a customer, there has been activity which should be reflected somewhere other than 'last updated' Thanks, Matte
Asset list in SDP 7010
Hi, I've just upgraded to SDP v7 build 7010 on my test system and it's raised the following two issues for me: If you have a list of workstations listed and filtered to display by a group, can you check them all and issue a 'scan now' to update their info? Or do you have to scan them all individually? Also if you check one or more you can't modify the state (for example to 'in use') without assigning the same user or department to all of them. Is this correct? This is the first time I've been looking
Where can I find fix lists for builds short of installing?
