PIX Rules
Hello - I am currently evaluating FWA for use with our PIX Firewall. On the firewall rules report it only shows inbound and outbound (plus default). I have configured FWA to query the PIX for its ruleset and it was successful. Is it supposed to show the individual rule numbers or just the access lists? Thanks!
Notify when a monitoring has a problem
Is there a way in order to get a notification or an alarm that a monitoring of a resource was stopped? One scenario I can give is we have an AIX server being monitored via CLI.. however when the password was changed/expired and the opmanger values was not it stopped monitoring for at least a week before we even notice that monitoring already stopped and when we viewed the device... the thresholds indicates normal even though no value is being produce. Hope we can find an alternative for this.
Additional Fields for the Notification Templates
When creating the templates for the various notifications, there are a couple of fields that are missing. In particular, the Requesters email and Requesters main phone. The mobile phone is there, but not all contacts have one listed. We work from Blackberries when out of the office, and it would be quite helpful to have this information in the email notification so we can contact them without having to login into the system.

Reports Blank
We recently upgraded to version 7002 and now both a newly created report and a saved report come up as blank when they are run directly from the reports menu. The other reports we have display correcty, but I cannot get this report to work correctly. I have tried deleting and recreating it with no help. It is a Matrix stye report based on requests. Additionally, if you edit the report and change a parameter they run correctly one time. However if you save the report, and try to run it from the reports
HTML Template / Look and feel Modification
I'm presently using the professional 6.1 evaluation version and am on my very first day of looking at the product. First off thanks for letting me make an evaluation of the product without needing to first purchase and other gyrations, that attracted me right away. So far I'm fairly impressed with the product. The question that I found myself asking is can I customize the look and feel? Memory Utilisation including pagefile
My company use a large amount of pagefile to increase the memory on each server. Opmanager monitors only the physical memory by default, which is screwing the results as a large percentage of the servers are reporting a breached threshold (80%+) continuously, even though Performance in Task Manager shows below 50% usage. Would there be any reason I couldn�t change the asset details of each server to the total inc the pagefile, the results would then correspond with the results in performance monitor
Change Due Date Permission for Roles
Technicians should have the option of setting/changing the due date. I find myself having to gve technicians admin access just so that they can set the due dates. Let's face it, the SLA's aren't a blanket solution for due dates. I think that roles in servicedesk plus should be able to be given the permission to change due dates. This permission can be given or taken from a role at the administrators discretion. (<- Feature Request). My 2 cents.
Has anyone tried using a Blackberry for SMS notifications.
Hello, While I search for a gsm modem from the supported list (http://manageengine.adventnet.com/products/opmanager/sms-modem.html), I had a thought. When you connect a blackberry to a windows server with it's Desktop Manager software, you can set it up to be a tethered modem and it assigns a com port to it. attached is a screen shot from control panel > modems > diagnostic. Before I invest time trying this, has anyone tried to use a Blackberry device as a GSM modem for SMS notifications in OpManager?
DB size and purging
I have my DB set to keep 31 days of data. However even though we are past 31 days in the cycle my DB continues to grow very large. I need to purge some data. Do you have the commands to do this? Thanks
SNMP traps not captured
I have installed OpManager on a box with Windows XP Home/SP2. SNMP alerts are not received by OpManager after the following were done: 1. Computer Name change 2. New password for Login operator 3. Workgroup change. I have tried reinstalling OpManager, still this does not solve the problem. Please help.
Defrag of OPmanager partition corrupted DB
HI, I tuned off opmanager and apache services on a windows 2003 R2 SP1 machine. Used windows defrag but stopped before completed. On starting opmanager afterwards. I lost view, devices, device data but still had events. Had to restore! I do no know MYSQL. Did I miss a service and action to stop MYSQL?
Opman7, URL Monitor, host unavailable, but it isn't
trying to add URL monitor for a IIS ASP virtual directory. Opmanager displays Host unavailable, however URL is functional and even from the Opmanager server, this URL can be retrieved with the browser. Opmanager opmanager_serverOut log file displays: Failed to read headers: java.io.IOException on these attempts to check or add the URL monitor.
Can not create custom links.
When I attempt to create a "custom link" on a device snapshot page it has only worked a couple of times and I can't explain why. What happens is that I can enter the information, the name for the link and save it. It then acts like it saved but when I click on custom links for that device it only gives me the option to add and there is no link. :x
Multiple Monitor to one Asset
Hi There, Can someone tell me can I associate one monitor to two computers. I have a user that has two computers and uses a KVM swtiches between the two. I have managed to associate the monitor with one compute but when I go into the other computer and try to associate the monitor it's not in the list. Is this possible?

Hi, Is there any way of adding custom monitors for logfiles. We currently have bigbrother running as a supplementary system that looks for specific values within logfiles and then sends alarms back. Can this be done in Opmanager? thanks, Matt

ServiceDesk system run out of space within SQL 2005 Express
We have just had our ServiceDesk system run out of space within SQL 2005 Express. The SQL server is stating we are only licensed for a 4G data file. We plan to upgrade the server but in the short term we currently have no system. In order to get our system up and running quickly we need to find data we can safely remove from within the database. Is there any data that is temporary we can purge? Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

Online Data
Can anyone tell me how much 'live' data can be available on Event Log Analyser. For PCI compliance we need to be able to go back over a minimum of 3 months data at any time. So if I run report or try to drill down within a small time frame 2 months or so in the past will it have this data available. Is there a way to set how much data is available at any one time?

MSSQL Module: can't see the databases of named instances
I monitored a windows 2003 server with MSSQL 2000 and named instance. I have mssql monitor licence to OP V6 and V7. I see the instance in the OP. But I do not see the databases. (For V7) I click add monitor -> MSSQL Monitors -> Click on the MSSQL Named Instance that you want to configure. [here see the name of instance 'snake'] -> i click to 'snake' -> i click to Service Names and Add -> Here see Select all, but not Databases. any idea?

MAJOR Unaccounted issue after upgrade from 6.0 to 6.1
This issue occured after we upgraded to 6.1 from 6.0. In 6.1 we see any time longer than a 2 hour window show as unaccounted in the application view. for example, if i select last hour i see the application break down, if i select the today view it shows one bar that unaccounted. if i select any 2 hour period it shows correctly. We can go to the troubleshooting report to see the data but this is drastically imacted our ability to use this software via the interface. why would this be the case. why
