Workstation Purchase Cost / Date & Acquisition Date
Hi, It would be useful if when filling out the purchase cost and date for a workstation, there was an option to also set the "acquisition date" field at the same time. Because at the end of the day, 9 times out of 10 these dates are always going to be the same and it would save having to fill the same information out twice. Thanks Tom
How do you handle purchase orders involving software?
I've never understood the purchasing of software. Let's say you want to purchase Adobe Acrobat 9 and you've never bought a previous version. The purchase order is going to ask you to define the Major Version from your managed software. What do you select? Do you wait until the software arrives, scan it on someone's system, mark it as managed, and only then can you properly create the PO and define the major version? How do you guys handle this?

I can successfully create a ticket by manually navigating to a URL in my browser. Hi, I have any question about monitoring MSSQL Database. In my corporation, Some can be monitored by AppManager but some always showed health as resource down even that MSSQL had still worked properly. I can ping and telnet port 1433 successfully. Unable to create business rule.
Working with a 'fresh' install of SPC. When we define a business rule it just won't save. spc opens the main page again in the sub frame. btw all the default business rules were removed. Anybody ?
Request Status/Update via e-mail
Is there a way that a user can request the status of a request or close a request via e-mail and not via the web portal? We have our sdp server behind a firewall and are not interested in opening it up to the world, but we would like for our customers to be able to send an e-mail and learn the status of their request. Thanks!
SMS Notification based on priority?
Anyone know of a way to only send SMS notifications via ServiceDesk only when a request is entered with a specific priority? For example, I want a a priority called "Emergency", and when a user enters a request marked as Emergency, I want an SMS message sent to all technician's mobile devices. I don't want this to occur with any other priorities. Thanks!!!

No matter what version of Opamanger V6.0 / V7.0 / V8.0; the OpManager still have apache v2.0.47 vulnerability problem since I perform the vulnerability scanning. Migrating SCP to a new server
We are going to upgrade our servers and will need to migrate SCP. On owr current server we are running MSSQL 2000 on the new server we will be running MSSQL 2005 or MSSQL 2008. I would like to if migrating SCP from MSSQL 2000 to 2005 or 2008 is possible or will it cause any problem? Regards, Allistair
[WARNING!] Custom account fields empty after update
Hello, We just found out that our additional fields for all our accounts are reset. All the information we had entered is not available anymore. We are now trying to find out whether we can re-enter it all as far as we have all the information. Things like this may and cannot happen after updates. Please check your program better before releasing it, or at least put it into Alpha or Beta stage. Then we can decide whether we do the update. Because from now on I think we will not be early adopters
Disconnections with database Mysql
Hi, i have Opmanager with version 8020 licenced to 1000 devices. My problem is it get disconnect with its Mysql database every 2 or 3 days. i mean opmanager services keeps on running but when i enter in the application in the snapshot of the device i see data not available . and it stop collecting traffic and once i restart opmanager service it start wroking well without problem and it repeate the problem again in 2 o 3 days and again i need to restart the services. i have open the ticket
Event rule to device association table?
I've browsed the forums and I was looking for a way to make an event rule apply for more than one server. I was hoping to see it in OpManager 8 since it seems to have been an issue going back a few years, but from the looks of it, the event rule area looks the same. Seeing that I have 300 servers it seems a bit ridiculous for me to go server by server over 300 server every time I need to ignore a new event. Hi, Is it possible for OpManger to generate an alert if particular event is not found in event log during a given time period? Say for example, the backup job usually completes at 9AM can I set up a rule to alert me if the related entry didn't show in event log by 10AM.

Hello guys, I have another suggestion to SC+. After the upgrade to build 7505, all accounts and contacts has a filter, but, by standard, it came with the option "Recently Added Accounts" selected and a lot of users are saying that the accounts are missing, but it's just about the filter. Change Request - Approval is mandatory
Hi Is it possible to force change requests to be approved before closing? I want certain types of changes to be approved by me (the line manager) before being closed. I can't figure out how to force someone to add the aproval? Technicians can raise and close changes without any form of approval being carried out! So my question is , within the software is it possible to make approval mandatory? thanks

Is there a way to move a request from the default Business Unit to a newly created one? I would like to take advantage of this new feature and "clean out" a lot of requests that really belong to the newly created Business Unit. I just don't see where this is done. Ken
Email Notifications
I am noticing an issue with notifications. Before we upgraded to 7.5, we had setup custom email notifications. We set up our notifications as text only, with specific fonts, so we get consistent messages on replies. Once we upgraded to 7.5, this no longer works and it looks like the editor is trying to remove the carriage returns and running our words together. Resolve DNS not working
I have Netflow Analyzer EE 6.5.0 (build 6501) recently installed on a W2K3 server. When I drill down into a interface to view the specific traffic I am presented with a button 'Resolve DNS'. When I press this the page refreshes but the IP addresses do not resolve to names. I can manually resolve the names from a command prompt on the same server. Any thoughts? Thanks

Alerts based on printer status and toner levels
Is it possible to add alerts based on the alert status of a printer? Most HPs display a "ORDER CYAN", "REPLACE MAGENTA" style message, it's retrievable from OID ".1.3.6.1.2.1.43.18.1.1.8" I know this message appears on the Printers dashboard, but no alerts are generated. Any chance Opmanager could periodically check if there's an alert in the MIB, and generate an alert based on its contents? For example, generate an alert if it contains ORDER x or REPLACE x or TONER LOW but ignore it if all it says

Can't detect interfaces
I'm having some annoying problems with some Netgear kit - I can't discover the interfaces. FVX 538 firewalls WG102 Wireless access points GSM7224 switch With the FVX538s, I can test the SNMP credentials and they do pass (the CLI credentials pass too) but the interfaces will not discover. The especially annoying but about these is that they worked under Opmanager 7. :( The WG102s won't even pass the SNMP credentials tests. I'm sure the community is set correctly, but the SNMP test always fails.
WMI checks failing
Hi, We have a 2k3 server where the WMI checks are failing. We've gone through and tried different credentials, made sure that the WMI Control permission sets on the server mirror identically those of a twin server where WMI works, and there is no firewall between the machines (telnet verifies the ports 135 and 445 are open)RPC is enabled and there's no reason we can see why this is continually failing. Ideas?

OpManager does not display second subnet
Hello, I am running OpManager (8022) on Win Server 2008. I have 2 network segments on the router, 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 In maps \ Network View i see only the 192.168.1.0/24, but the devices from 192.168.0.0/24 still show as discovered and are dumped in desktops. I have registered version of OpManager for 500 devices. Any ideas ? Vasil

Uninstall NCM Plugin from Opmanager 8021
Hello, can someone please tell me how to remove the trial version of the NCM (Network Configuration Management) module from Opmanager 8021? The NCM plugin doesn't work, and I'm tired of the backups taking longer than before. It should be made easier to get rid of such plugin applications - or at least one should be warned that it is not simple to de-install it after trying it out. Hi, Im facing some weird probem here which orginated from 2 days ago when i did a full domain scan. 2 pcs are giving me this issue. These 2 computers are identical in hardware and OS. They are labeled 1. hr1 2. hr2 The domain name for them are same as their computer name above. Wehn i add hr1 hr2 gets deleted and viceversa.
