Security Concerns of enabling Customer Portal
Hi, We are thinking of enabling outside user access to SCP. The plan is to set up a DynDns and port forward from router to SCP server and enable https. What security practices should I be concerned about - since we would be having a considerable amount of secure information on the SCP? Is the application tested against exploits in such scenarios? Questions About SDP 8.1
I was looking at the online demo of 8.1 and have a question. Will our users be able to create requests using a default form like they currently do or will they have to go through the catgory templates like the demo has setup? I also noticed this on the page when you click new incident in the requester portal, we are using Win7 and IE9.
Access control
Currently you need admin access to see/edit many features and it is an all or nothing condition with respect to the features on the admin tab. Ideally if we can create a role and select which features on the admin tab we would allow read-only/full access to. Currently I have the need to: allow everyone to have read only access to tech availability calendar need a super user to manage the SDP application for me when I am away but want to hide the survey results which contain confidential replies.
problem in adding a device
I am trying to add a device opmanager is saying "device is already present in the system" but when i am searching that device it is saying "no result found sorry your search returned no results". Before adding the device I checked it in mibsbrowser using mibbrowser.bat The device is a solaris server.

Hi, Can we apply multilevel threshold in opmanager like Description CPU % Memory % Disk % Attention 85 85 85 Trouble 90 90 90 Critical 95 95 95 when cpu utilization exceeds 85% then it generates attention alert when cpu utilization exceeds 90% then it generates trouble alert and when cpu utilization exceeds 95% then it generates Critical alert. Host name is invalid or not reachable
I am trying to install OpManager 9.0 but at the point of configuring the MS SQL server details it always fails with the following message: "Host name is invalid or not reachable" I've specified the details as follows: Hostname: mysqlserver\opmanager Port: 50490 Database Name: OpManagerDB Username: mydomain\opmanservice Password: ******** I know these details are correct but still it fails. Any suggestions for getting past this? It's not a firewall issue and I've given the user rights on
opmanager migration problem
Hi all, We have problem with opmanager migration and i have a few questions about our issues. Currently we have 8052 build and mssql 2000 database on another physical server than opmanager. We want to migrate to 9011 64-bit version and sql 2008. I installed 9011 64-bit version on ws2008 r2 64-bit. During installation opmanager database was automaticaly created on sql 2008. After that we did backup opmanager database from sql 2000 server(base for 8052 build) and restore to new created database on
PMP / An Error When Processing to Request / Audit tab not working / Fresh Installation
Hi, When I click AUDIT tab its giving below error.. I'm add resource name and passwords, when i click to resource name its giving below error Actually its fresh installation perhaps you have to check support file.. problem with install service desk linux 64 bits

Domain Admin Accounts---"Firecall Account"
We recently purchased PMP and one of the things I'd to with it is store an Emergency Enterprise Admin account in it. I would like for PMP to automatically change the password on this account after the person has checked it back in. Where would I look for instructions on how to do this? This account isn't associated to any particular machine but would primarily be used to AD changes on the Domain Controller.
Group Members report no longer allows selection of a Group
Before running the report, I need to select the Group for which I am interested in finding the members. There is a box with the text NONE in it and to the right of this a button labelled "Select". If I click on this button to select the group a dialog window appears with the text "No Groups Found" appears - despite the domain having about 12,000 groups in it!. OpManager Service Stops Unexpectedly.
Environment: ESXi VM, running Microsoft Win. Serv. 2003 OpManager Proffesional ver. 8812 My OpManager process in Win. stops unexpectedly, every day or so. When viewing the Win. logs, I only get the following info: Event ID: 7035 - The ManageEngine OpManager service was successfully sent a stop control. The DB is running on a SQL Instance located on another VM (along with several other business processes of which I do not receive similar problems of.) I do not find anything useful in the SQL Logs
Linux Memory Consumption and SNMP by OpManager
Hi, Linux (RHEL) would consume any amount of memory you allocate to the distro, but it only utilizes what it requires and 'cache' the rest of the memory. OpManager on the other hand receives the SNMP detail from the Linux host and displays it as the Linux host is running out of memory where only the Linux machines consumed all memory and cached what it's not using. This results in 'false' alarms etc. Is this a RHEL mib taht i should update on the linux box or is this something I should be looking

Unable to modify group membership
I keep getting an error when I try to add myself to a domain security group. I am a domain administrator so rights should not be a problem. Here is the error I keep getting: 5 -Access is denied (Terminal Service / Folder Creation) Reasons: User does not have rights to create a homefolder. Users do not have access over terminal services. UUID Error when adding multiple ESXi Servers to VMware Add-On
Hello, We use the Dell C6100 Servers. They are basically 4 Servers in one 2u Chassis. When adding each "sled" into OPM (VMware Addon), I can only add the first "sled". All subsequent sleds get the error below: UUID of ESX Host HOSTNAME matches with UUID of already existing ESX Host HOSTNAME. Any ideas why? There aren't any duplicate servers involved.

Increase no of licenses
Hi. We are currently running OM 8810 Deluxe 500 devices and going to upgrade soon to OM 9. Is there any chance for us to increase no of licenses with 200, but still working with this standalone version (8 or 9, it doesn't matter)? The point is that we dont need an enterprise version with central/probes for only 200 more devices and also we don't exceed total monitored interfaces - 5000 (now or in the future). Thank you, Bogdan

We're looking for something to reset and change service account passwords for Windows services and scheduled tasks. After reading up on Password Manager Pro Premium, it looks like this will reset passwords for service accounts. But will it reset passwords for scheduled tasks? We would be using this only on Windows machines. Thanks!
Multithreaded password resets
We've been using PMP for most of a year now, and it seems to work ok. But it is very slow in changing passwords as it only operates on a single machine at a time, and we have several thousand workstations - all accessible only via various WAN circuits. Is there any consideration to making PMP multithreaded, so it can work on 10-100 computers at a time (adjustable)? We frequently never receive "completion" reports because password resets on larger sets of machines never successfully complete before
Auto logon helper - Remote desktop
Dear all, at the moment we are implementing Password Manager within our company and one of the tricky questions is automating logon to multiple Win servers using standard windows Remote Desktop connection. So the question is if it is possible to pass authentication credentials to Remote Desktop automatically (i.e. using console arguments or smthng else) without copypasting them from the browser?

Hello there, I habe create a Windows Domain and a user named: administrator. when I want to very the Passwort it comes this message: Could not verify if the password of account sqlservice of resource W2K8-Domain is in sync with the one stored in the PMP repository. Check if its possible to connect to the system from PMP server (Ping) or Check if the credentials supplied for password reset for the resource is still valid. Can anyone help me?
snmp wont work properly
HI guys, I was wondering if yuo can help me with this problem. most of the gateways and interfaces on netflow analyzer enterprise edition resolve to their names and speed using the snmp string. but there are still a few routers that wont resolve the name and all i see is the IP. some of the interfaces wont resolve to their names either and i see ifindex###. weired part is some gateways names and speed are resolved with 2 of the 4 interfaces resolved but the other 2 wont. thank you, Usman.
solution approver notification
Running latest build of SDP. I cannot find where you indicate an email notification for a solution approver and a solution is submitted for approval. As the admin I get notified but one of the techs has the role "solution approver" but he is not getting the emails. This role is set for full control of solutions and the check box is selected for "solution approver" Thanks
Remote Control
Hi, Can you advise if it is possible to remote control a machine without having the user prompt to click OK. We have a few machines on our network locked in comms rooms and as nobody is there to allow us access to the PC. I understand why this has been locked down for end uers for secuirty etc, but for non manned machines it means we need to look at other products. I presume we have to modify the settings.conf file or something? Thanks Mark.
