running BackupDB.sh
Hi, Apologies for the "how long is a piece of string?!" question, but I'm wondering based on user experience how the BackupDB.sh has worked out for people. In particular, the length of time it takes to run. I'm backing up a 38G mysql directory and a 250M data directory. given the size of the directories, would a straight 'copy to' be quicker and easier? Thanks in advance.
Temperature display on dashboard
Hi, I have few questions. I want to create Dashboard monitor for temperature and humanity status. SNMP traps are working, and I get alarm notification if I have some issues in datacenter. I would like to achieve to have like performance monitor on dashboard that would show the temperature and humidity. We are using APC environment equipment, and I downloaded the MIB from APC site. I tried to create monitor that will show us status, but with no luck… Is that even posible. Best regards, Edin

Custom Script for User Creation Validation
Does anyone have a script that could validate a newly created user's information? For example, I have a custom attribute field that I want to put the hire date of the user. My tech's never seem to use mm/dd/yyyy format. Is there a way to script an error when they put the date in wrong? can't monitor folders in opmanager

Scan only OU in a domain... not an entire domain?
Is there any way to force domain scanning to a particular OU instead of the entire domain? I am looking at using ADManager Plus again, as I have used it before, but our company was acquired a couple years ago and integrated in to another domain managed by our parent company. I manage our OU in that domain, which has around 500 computers and users. The problem occured when IT management saw ADManager Plus scanning the domain at a global level instead of just looking in our OU structure... and asked
Scan only part of domain?
The default scan on my dashboard view is showing 244,756 users! I only manage 100 of them. I obviously don't care about the rest. I couldn't figure out how to filter or specify to scan only within "mydomain.com/people/myhotelcode" instead of all of "mydomain.com". I work at a hotel that has franchises worldwide, I only want to see my hotel, our AD is setup so that each hotel has its own OU: "mydomain.com/people/hotelcode". How can I scan only a small part of the domain?
Copys users from 1 group to another group?
We've got 1 group with 500+ users & groups in, the group is now defunct but I need to move all those users out and into a new group. Is there a way to do this is ADManager? Thanks
Delegated User can not unlock users
I have a delegated users with Assigned OUs and assigned roles allowing them to unlock users in those OUs however the users in question can not access the unlock users options. Any ideas?
Report on number of requests raised per day
I am looking for a report with the following: All requests raised for a period Day of week request raised All the reports I seem to get have the DATE of the request but I cant see how to convert the date to a DAYOFWEEK. Appreciate any help. Cheers.

File Monitor - already exists error
I deleted and re-discovered some servers, in order to get the "installed software" populated. Now I have a problem, building back in the File Monitors which I had built under the server. I have no FileMonitor Templates built. When I try to create a new file Monitor, opmanager errors, stating a File Monitor already exists with that name. So apparently the individual file monitor, which previously was built under that server, did not get cleaned out of the database, when I deleted the server device.

Reports and Business Units
Hi Everyone, I have 3 Business Units configured on my SupportCenter. Yesterday I created a custom report in one of the business units and realized that it only appears in this particular business unit despite generate information from all business units. Is that normal? Can I create some kind of a "Global Report" that appears in all business units? If so, how? Thank you!
Update of Search function
You can currently search in requests for a persons name but the results that shows up include the persons name if it is anywhere in the request, including comments and emails. If the seacrh function had a small option for selection such as "Requests by" "Description" and other fields such as "Comments" "Conversations" This would increase the search functionality 10 fold and you could search for a persons name to bring up all his/her requests and would help with finding managers names in requests

We have the need to: 1. Convert technicians to requestors when they change departments or job duties and still retain the data linked to the users that are converted. 2. Delete technicians and requestors when they are no longer employed or no longer using the system due to any reason and still retain the data linked to the deleted users. Currently it appears a technician cannot be converted back to a requestor. If you delete the technician, you lose data since for some reason, that I don't understand,
Asset Component Resource Details Screen
We manage monitors as Asset Components. We have created custom asset fields to track screen ratio (standard vs. widescreen) as well as Input Types available. However, the default 'resource details' screen does not show any of the available UDF's. Is there a template or way to change the default asset component details screen to add the UDF? and if not, I suggest that as an improvement.

Undoing a ticket merge
I accidentally clicked on the box that selects all the tickets ( I was just trying to select the most recent ticket and one from a little bit earlier in the day) and before I could stop myself I merged every open ticket we had. Is there a way to undo this, or am I stuck going through the one now massive ticket and splitting them off, while trying to find the associated notes to go with that ticket? Hi, I have recently deployed Netflow Analyzer on a site and configured all interfaces of the Cisco router that uplink the site to the ISP to report to the analyzing server. What I am facing now is (what I believe) inaccurate reporting for the site BW usage. Unable to integrate Opmanager Prof and NFA Prof+
Good morning! We have installed Opmanager Professional and NFA Professional Plus (not NFA plugin) on the same server and we are unable to integrate both tools under admin->add on/product settings in the Opmanager Server. We have tried different options as using the hostname/IP address, enterprise/professional version and we have double checked that the credentials are ok, but when we press the "test connection and save" button it keeps telling "Unable to establish connection to Netflow Server"

URL - more features request
Hi, Since more years there were more requests to have the posibility to add the URL into Business Groups, as not always the URL is related to a device. In some cases we only need to know the status of that specific URL but we don;t control or manage the server / device. Do you have any news on this? Also, it will be very nice to have the posibility to give restricted access to users to specific URLs. I have now a request from my boss to give him access to 3 URL. I have more then 20 URL and 3xx devices.
Questions about install on RHEL 6.2 64bit
Hello, I am trying to install opManager to RHEL (Redhat Enterprise Linux) 6.2. This is what I downloaded: ManageEngine_OpManager_64bit.bin. I read the install instructions here http://www.manageengine.com/network-monitoring/installing_opmanager.html#linux_install and I found that majority of these packages: XFree86 XFree86–libs XFree86–base–fonts XFree86–xfs fontconfig freetype–devel compat–libstdc++ XFree86–compat–libs compat–libs are not supported by RHEL 6.2. (mainly which starts with XFree86)

Subnet Objects Incorrectly Categorize
Under the subnets maps we have several subnets where objects in the subnets with addresses that aren't right for the subnet map they are in. Is there any way to move them to the correct subnet list? Also, I'd like to be able to report on subnet inventories. Would you consider that for future releases please? Thanks.
