Credentials for remote password reset is not configured
Hi I have downloaded a trial version of Password Manager Pro to test the remote password reset features but it does not allow me to save the credentials required for the remote reset. I see that there is currently two versions available standard and enterprise. Is the eval only capable of the standard features or will I be able to test all the enterprise capabilities as well? any help would be appreciated. Regards watsejy
ERROR: Trying to start MySQL server failed
Hi there, We've been runnng Password Manager Pro on Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 for almost a year with no problems. The server was rebooted on the weekend and now we're unable to start the PMP Service. I'm able to start the service manually (using the Services MMC) but it stops again almost immediately. I've attached WRAPPER.LOG, SERVEROUT0.TXT and also the output I receive when running STARTDB.BAT from the command line. Any help would be much appreciated.
Password Admins to manage users?!
Hi, Just wondering if there are any plans to allow Password Adminstrators the ability to create and manage User Groups within PMP? We manually import basic user information from an LDAP server and cannot import any groups. Therefore there is no structure (departmental, etc) within the product. Would also save me the time of having Password Admins request that I (System Admin) continually create and modify Groups on their behalf when staff leave or join teams. Grateful if someone could tell whether

Has anyone tried using the Password Manager Pro Linux agent on an ESX 4.x server?
Resource and task audit alert logs
Can the resource and task audit alert logs be exported so they can be viewed by another application? Similar to Window's "Event Viewer", does Password Manager Pro write the logs in a format that can be read by external apps? Thanks
ManageEngine Password Manager Pro 6.2 Released
Hi, We are glad to announce the release of Password Manager Pro 6.2 (build 6200). We take this opportunity to thank all our customers and users for their feedback and the continued support. Highlights of PMP 6.2 SIEM Integration: Provision for generating SNMP traps and Syslog messages upon the occurrence of any activity/event - be it password access or modification or any other activity performed in the PMP application. The traps/syslog messages can be sent to the SIEM tools, which can thoroughly
Quotes in auto Logon Helper
Hi, Im trying to edit the putty auto logon helper because we're using passwords which contain special characters that need to be escaped on the command line. What i try to do is changing the command to putty.exe -ssh %ACCOUNT_NAME%@%DNS_NAME% -pw "%PASSWORD%" so that the PW gets escaped probably, but PMP is resitting my settings every time. What is the correct Syntax for using quotes in Command to invoke in Windows textbox?
Feature request for submitted passwords
Hello, So far PMP has been a great resource for our company but I have an issue. We have several admins handling delegation and security of all passwords, however users have no way to "submit" a new password to be added to the admins to be approved and shared. The only way new passwords can be added is if the person requesting the resource to be added comes to an admin and asks them to add the resource. This is an issue because there is not a highly secure way to do this as many associates are

Hi there, Having a problem starting the Password Manager Pro service. We have it running on Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 (32-bit) and it has been working fine for a long time. The server was restarted on the weekend and now the service fails to start. Manually starting the service (from the Services MMC) works but it stops almost immediately. Windows Server 2008 64-bit
Has anyone tried running PMP on Windows Server 2008 64-bit? I don't imagine that the services themselves would have a problem, but I'm worried about the MySQL service not running correctly. Our new standard server build is 2008 64-bit. I could technically install PMP on a 32-bit version, but if possible I'd rather use 64. Thank you! Sebastian Cavignac
Global policy
Hello, it would be useful to be able to configure a sort of global policy to prevent users to set the same password for many resources. Even if the password is compliant to the specific policy applied, once discovered it will be a big security threat. Maybe a specific report could be arranged to detect those duplications. Have a nice day.
How to setup Password Access workflow to Resource GROUPS
I'm just setting up Password Manager Pro, I've imported all my resources and user accounts and groups them in to appropriate security groups. How can i apply the Password Access Work flow to a resource group? I've got 15 resources in my HR System Resource group that I want certain people to require approval before accessing - how do i do this once rather than 15 times - Applying to the resource group also means that new resources added to the same group have the same security.
Archiving old accounts in PMP6
Hi all, I'm wondering if there is a way to archive those accounts (and potentially resources) that you don't need to manage anymore, but keep for reference purposes? For example, we have changed the MSSQL database owner account for one of our apps to a new SQL login, but need to retain the old account details in the event that we need to restore the app and database to a specific point in time. We no longer need to manage the account (complete integrity checks, enforce policy) but we don't want
Password Manager Pro Build 6103 CPU Usage 100% for java.exe
My installation of Password Manager Pro Buld 6103 is causing the CPU usage to run at 100%. Shortly after starting the PMP service the CPU usage for the process java.exe spikes to 100%. The CPU usage stays at 100% the entire time the PMP service is running. It is worth noting that this has been occurring for several of the past builds and I am finally getting around to troubleshooting the issue. The website is accessible but the operations within the site take longer than they should. Since
Reports
Is it possible to setup PMP to send an email out every night that only shows which passwords were accessed/changed the previous day, and by whom throughout the day? Sadly, the Password Activity Report lists all passwords in the system, and while it says when it was last accessed or changed, it doesn't who by whom. If my first question isn't possible, is it possible to get this report to include person who accessed it?
how to transfer DB backup from one server to a new one
Hello, I've to transfer all items resources and associated passwords from one server in a domain A to a new server in an other domain B. PMP Not Starting After Upgrade to 6104
Anyone else upgrade to 6104 and have PMP fail to start afterwards? Support has not responded yet to my uery from today and I'm stuck with a nonworking PMP Server. I have checked for a mysql.sock file and none are there so I'm a little stumped. Thanks for any advice Kurt
Auto login Helper
Auto login helper help file is not much help. From an earlier disscusion on RDP, id & passwords can not be sent to windows so you need to see all of the password information. To create a config file for rdp and store it on the local machine for everyone who wishes to use this feature is a poor option. If the password is changed I suppose you have to go throught the same process again. Kind of defeats the purpose of this program. Is there any way to store the .rdp file in the Db and have it be used
Auto Login Helper - Not keeping command to invoke

Personal Password Encryption
Is there a way to delete the Option 1 selection for a user, in case he or she forgets their encryption key password? Once deleted, then allow the user to re-enter a new encryption key and then re-add their personal accounts. ****** This is a one time configuration which cannot be changed later, so make your choice carefully. Option 1: Use my encryption key and do not store it (recommended) All your passwords will be encrypted using the key supplied by you and the key will not be stored in the PMP
Can PMP reset the passwords in scheduled tasks on Windows servers?
We are looking to purchase this product and if it can reset the domain account, service and scheduled tasks it would be perfect for our environment. Any advice much appreciated.
Encryption for Personal Passwords
Using the encryption key, it states that it's a One Time Configuration and cannot be changed later. My question is, can it be deleted to allow the users to create another password and to re-enter their personal accounts? Option 1: Use my encryption key and do not store it (recommended) All your passwords will be encrypted using the key supplied by you and the key will not be stored in the PMP database. To access your personal passwords you will have to supply this key every time and if you forget
How can I view previous passwords for a resource in PMP?
Is there a way in PMP for me to see the previous passwords, or password history for any given resource. Example: If I have a Windows resource that has a password assigned to it, and I change the password, how can I see what the password was before the password changed?
Can administrator change the passwords of PMP accounts?
Dear All, Can the administrator change the password of PMP accounts? I search through the Users tab but cannot find a way to reset the password of PMP accounts. Thanks! Best regards, John

Password Manager Pro Build 6104 Released
Hi, This is to announce the release of a minor version - PMP build 6104. This build serves as a hot fix to discard scripting attacks like cross-site scripting (XSS) irrespective of the case of the scripting content. Already, all user inputs submitted in the PMP user interface are centrally validated to check for and discard harmful ones that could cause scripting attacks. However, due to the filter applying case sensitive checks to the attack strings, the situation of strings with different cases
Chrome Support
It would be nice if PMP properly supported Google Chrome. In the latest version (6103) I'm unable to type in the search field of PMP.

I would like to import users of specific groups into Password Manager Pro but it always returns zero results? What could I be missing? User Imports work fine
PMP on same box as OpManager
Can PMP be installed on the same server as OpManager 8? That is, will there be any conflicts between the embedded web/DB servers?

Seeing what Domain Controllers a user authenticates to
When you import a user for AD, you have to specify the primary domain controller that will be used for authenticating the user and have the choice of adding secondary DCs. Is there someplace where you can see what this is set to? We are doing to be decommissioning one of our AD servers and want to verify if any of the accounts are pointing to it as the primary or secondary DC. Also, is there a way to change this if we want? I haven't been able to find a place where you can see what the DCs are
Primary server shows H/A not configured

pmp email notifications
Is there any way to send an email notification other than account creation and role changes?
License Notification
Where can I configure who gets notification that the PMP license is about to expire. Currently everyone on our server support team is getting notification but we need to have it sent to a group mailbox. I looked but did not see anywhere to make the needed change.
Multiple AD domains: password reset
I work on an evaluation project of PMP. We have the situation where we have multiple AD domains, which are not related to eachother. I would like to have one instance of PMP, which can reset passwords on all domains but without using an agent. My installation is running on Windows Server 2003, and I'm running PMP 6.1 (evaluation). The server is part of an AD domain (vdc1.local - LOCAL). I can verify passwords against AD in this domain. I've added another resource pointing to a domain controller in
PMP integration with OpManager and DeviceExpert
Hi, Actually, we are using PMP in our company, and we are working in the purchase process for OpManager and DeviceExpert. My question is if there is any option to change the credential profile of the devices on DeviceExpert and OpManger once you change the devices passwords through PMP? The idea behind this is basically avoid the manual process of updating those credential profiles. Could the Password Reset Listener be used to accomplish this task? Thanks in advance. Jose Suazo
Combating Cyber Security Threats - Advisory
Hi, Of late, cyber-criminal activities across the globe have assumed such grave proportions that all enterprises - big and small, are exposed to security breaches and identity thefts of various kinds. Many sabotage were found to have been caused by the insiders of the enterprises - either disgruntled staff or greedy techies or sacked employees. Lack of well-defined internal controls and access restrictions generally pave the way for security incidents. Particularly, as stolen identities seem to have

Change HA Server from primary to secondary
Hi, We have Password Manager Pro running on a Linux box and we now require to move the installation to a Windows server so we can use the AD authentication. We would like to preserve the Linux installation and use this as the secondary server for HA. The only documentation I can find states that the HA role is assigned during installation, is there anyway to change the primary server once it has been installed without having to re-install? Thanks in advance. Justin
