Password Manager Pro Build 6103 CPU Usage 100% for java.exe

My installation of Password Manager Pro Buld 6103 is causing the CPU usage to run at 100%.  Shortly after starting the PMP service the CPU usage for the process java.exe spikes to 100%.  The CPU usage stays at 100% the entire time the PMP service is running.  It is worth noting that this has been occurring for several of the past builds and I am finally getting around to troubleshooting the issue.  The website is accessible but the operations within the site take longer than they should.

Since the java.exe process is what is consuming all the CPU resources, I suspected Java to be the problem. I have updated the version of Java to the most recent build (JRE 1.6.0_17) and this does not resolve the problem.

Within a few seconds after stopping the PMP service, the CPU usage returns to a very low, normal value.  As soon as I start the process again, within a minute or so the CPU usage spikes back up to 100%.

I also ran into a separate, but probably unrelated, issue when trying to upgrade from build 6103 to 6104.  The upgrade pack installation failed around 98%.  The service would not start after this so I had to restore my backed up copy of the PMP folder to get me back to square one.

I appreciate any suggestions or input to getting my PMP server to operate at a normal CPU usage.
