Interface error alarms (switches & Routers after upgrade
Hi, Ever since our upgrade to Version 7 of OpManager (patched to 7023), we have noticed that we are getting a large number of "Error Rate" alarms on a large number (over 100) of our switch and router interfaces. Previous to the upgrade we never saw any alarms on interface errors and were under the assumption that all was right in the world of OZ. Unfortunately this problem is causing several hundred alarm emails a day now and is getting quite frustrating especially after chasing our tails thinking
CPU Utilization is "-1"
I monitor the CPU Utilization with SSH,but I get the value is "-1",(see the Attachment). My OS is linux Redhat as4.0.
Performance Monitor - Cannot add Free Disk Space (WMI)
Version 7023. I'm switching from using SNMP to WMI, and have sucessfully changed free disk space performance monitors on other servers, but i have one that just doesn't list the Disk space monitors after i try to add them. I can add CPU Utilization using WMI and it works, just not Disk. Improving Performance
I am attempting to evaluate moving from an Open Source network monitoring solution to OPManager, but have run into a real perfomance bottleneck. Current setup: VMWare ESX Virtual Machine (2 Gb RAM, 2 Processors) for the OPManager station. MSSQL backend database Gigabit Ethernet Connection I have approximately 45 switches (mix of Cisco and DLink) entered and discovered, but the discovery process (or just about any process) is taking a very long time. Are there any tuning parameters that I can set
OpManager 7.0 on 64 bits Debian
After several hours fight on 64 bits Debian ... so now it's working There are several problem I have now, so I'd like to ask if anyone has same and have solution for them: 1) In Discovery I can't use CIDR cause it tell me that discovery failed.... Hi to all, I installed OpManager 7.0 Pro for testing on Debian Lenny ( 64 bit ) so it was very difficult with 32 bit support but I did it ... How to disable browser auto-launch?
Hi, I would like to disable the browser auto-launch when the server starts up. This is possible in SD+ by commenting out a section in TrayIconInfo.xml, but since you've implemented a very different code base in OpManager, no such option seems to exist. Is there another way of doing this? And can I also disable the browser splash screen (which, again, can be done by editing TrayIconInfo.xml in SD+)...? How to edit user details
When you click Admin � Users Under the User Configuration block there is a list of names with a choice to Edit or delete. If you click the edit tab the only thing you can edit is the password. I want to be able to edit details. The Quick Start Guide gives the impression I can edit Contact details and access details. I have full admin permissions. Nokia IP1220 - CPU/Mem Utilization
Guy's, Has anyone had any success getting a Nokia IP1220 to work in opmanager. I can not get the CPU utilization and Memory Utilization to work properly. I have attached a new mib that I found but it gives an error message. Error parsing MIB:NOKIA-IPSO-SYSTEM-MIB.txt Exception while loading MIB:Could not parse the file C:/PROGRA~1/ADVENT~1/ME/OPMANA~1/./mibs/NOKIA-IPSO-SYSTEM-MIB.txt The error occured at the line no: 976 ,column: 9. Problem with SNMP OID syntax
I'm having problems with the SNMP OID syntax. When I do a get from this object: .1.3.6.1.4.1.20916.1.2.1.1.2 I get a 4 digit number (temperature), like 2734. This means, it's 27,34 degrees celsius. So, I've changed the syntax into: (.1.3.6.1.4.1.20916.1.2.1.1.2/100) But, then I get the error: The Monitor did not respond to the test request What am I doing wrong? Why can't I edit/delete the custom monitors via the webinterface? Regards, Leon
Erroneous Link Performance Counters
We are having some issue with the way utilization levels and error rates are calculated/reported. We frequently get alerts for high utilization on 1 Mb links between facilities, but when we check, the actual level is much lower. The attached PDF shows OpManager reporting utilization over 1 Gb in one direction and over 8 Gb in the other even though the interface is only capable of 1 Gb. Have you seen problems like this and is there a way to correct? Thanks.
Creation of all servers availability report through Crystal
Hi, In order to produce a percentage uptime for our server estate I need to perform some calculations on the data produced by the All servers availability report. I therefore want to create the same report in Crystal reports. I have a connection to the database through Crystal but I am having difficulty finding the fields I require and tables. Switch Ports Showing as 10Mbps instead of 1Gbps

Set This View As Default takes two attempts
I choose Sort By then Severity and then tick Set This View As Default, and the view reverts back to the previous view. It's only when I repeat this process that the view seems to take.

I'm trying to install OpManager on a server that is also used as our AntiVirus management server. OpManager won't start if SEP Management Server Started First If you stop the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager service then start OpManager, then start Symantec everything seems to be ok..... I don't see any port conflicts.... something to do with Java Virutal Machine versions I think.....? What logs do you need?
unattended availability alarm
Hello, I got a problem with 3 servers, every few minutes i have an availability alarm generated bye Opmanager (7.023). But those servers are fully operational, even when i have the alerts. I tried to remove servers from Opmanager and re create them, but same thing happen. I use Service monitoring, Performance monitoring and Url Monitors for those servers. As it generates 30 (or more) mail per hour, it's very annoying .. can someone please help ? thanks a lot C�dric
Database problem
We had a problem on Friday with memory utilization that required the server that OpManager is on to be rebooted. After the reboot it appears that there seems to be a problem connecting to the database. All of our settings are gone but we can still see our recent alarms. Today a coworker updated us from 7021 to 7024 in hopes that this would fix our problem. It did not. Has anyone ever encountered this from a reboot?
OpManager not spotting additional memory?
On Monday evening I upgraded five servers with additional memory. From that point on they have been constantly triggering alerts, most at 100%. Yet if I check the server nothing of the sort is happening. It makes me wonder if OpManager somehow still considers the old memory value 100%, while the servers now feel free to move beyond that, hence the alarms and 100% values.
OpManager Doesn't Scale Well
We have been using OpManager for a few months now, and the CPU utilization on our server is through the roof. This product really needs to start using host based agents on the remote machines to send data back to OpManager. All of the larger product suites (OpenView, Altiris, etc.) do this for the simple reason that the monitoring host will get overloaded the large the implementation becomes. We are monitoring about 140 servers and about 20 routers and switches so the polling is quite intense. OpManager
New Business View fails to save
I setup a business view, move a few things about and hit save and then hit exit, yet I am then told "No Infra Structure View found with this name."
Switch interfaces set to poll 300sec but polls every 30mins?
HI, Switch is a dell powerconnect 5324. Half of the interfaces are set to 300secs and work. Others are 900secs. Two of the 300 secs always poll at 30mins. Tried changing to another value, left then set back to 300. Any reason or fix?

Hello, I'm trying to get the sms alert working. Over in the uk, most of the phones that opmanager say they support have gone end of life. I am able to get hold of a moto v3, but it only comes with a USB cable. Will it still work? Only I noticed it says it has to be a serial cable? Many thanks.
Limit Event Log Email Notification
I have an email sent to me when any server gets a certain event log. If a server get 50 of these in succession I get 50 emails. Is there any way to limit this - eg if an event occurs n times in x mintes then stop sending email notifications. Thanks.

Hi, I have just migrated from v.6 to v.7. On Home Page of OpManager, in Business Snapshot view, I can see just few business views. Custom Devices in OpMan - Same system OIDs
Hi there, We are currently running mostly HP DL360 servers with 2003 server. Most monitors we require work in Opman. However we run several different hardware versions of the DL360 which also use different MIB OIDs for the hardware but all use the same microsoft 2003 system OIDs. We really need to make several device templates for each hardware version but we are unable to create them properly as we can only have one associated with the microsoft 2003 OS OID. Is there any way to have more than one
support for WMI based disk performance monitors
I know this has been discussed in and needed before in v.6. I never got anything running, though I was offered some scripts. Being a windows shop primarily, WMI seems to be the possible choice in gathering disk performance on my production boxes. Things I'm looking for are average disk i/o, disk queue length, reads and writes/sec,, you know, all the metrics you can get running PerfMon. Does anyone know how to do this in Opmanager.
Opmanager - no data received on one Client PC
We have installed Opmanager 7 on 3 PCs. 2 PCs are receiving data from our servers but one PC is not receiving any data from the same servers except availability, response time and packet loss. Can anyone suggest what could be different on this PC that is preventing data being received ?

Missing Interface Stats after upgrade to Op7 & SP7023
Hi there, We've just upgraded OpManager from Version 6016 to 7023 and have suffered the same issue as http://forums.manageengine.com/forumHome.do?forumGroupId=49000000002007&forumTopicId=49000002642901 where the Interface stats are missing for all servers, routers and switches. If you delete the device and re-add them, the interfaces start monitoring, but it would take us weeks to re-setup all our devices with the monitors, notification profiles, etc. I have also tried the RepairDB cmd. Any help
