Hi, I had a device in the mapmaker. I deleted it and recreated it in both the mapmaker and the devices list. I created it with a different IP address. When I try to link the device with another device it gives me the following error. � Map Link already exists for the selected devices � Please Help Thanks, Marc George

My topology is like one central router and many branch routers connected to the central router through point2point connection on ethernet or serial. I want to be able to generate a report which tells me exactly on what instance one of the router was down and came back up after what time. Also the total number percentage of time the router was down.
Today'sAvaliability not updating
Hi, We have been using Opmanager for quite sometime . During last week we migrated Opmanager from one server to the other. it was working fine and all the monitors are reponding.We have problem in updating the Today's availability option though the server is one and it get Response time the Today's Avaliability icon doesnt change its color it still shows red color. OPManager 7 returns blank error page after login
Every time when I try to login to OPManager, I get the white page with one word - ERROR. The second call to URL="http://ip-address/overview.do?selectedTab=Home" returns normal view. What's wrong?
Network Availability not showing

SNMP returns incorrect values on Windows system after resizi
Hello. I use MSP to monitor lots of Windows systems. We have noticed that on certain systems we have had to use disk partition tools to resize the boot partition on a system, and from that point forward, SNMP values are incorrect. Is there a place in the Windows registry where I can change values? 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6 is the value that allows the great disk usage chart to appear on the snapshot page and that happens to be the problem oid. Opmanger running w/datbase on sql2005 SQL server
had opmanger running on 2003 R2 server w/ sql server express running locally. Moved database to sql2005 machine using procedure of Db backup, then DBconfiguration.bat, then db restore...database was created on sql server and it is now unable to update any tables... any ideas what could be the problem? If I reinstall opmanger and connect it to the database should all my settings and configs still be there, or is it going to overwrite it?

Scheduled backups
Is there an easy way to schedule OpMan backups? Is it as easy as setting up a scheduled tast to run the backup.bat? Does the OpMan service need to be stopped in order to run the backup?

Cannot Delete Alarm
Hi all, I have a server in my OPManager. I watch the events of this Windows 2003-Server. Events from the Eventlog are shown in OPManager as Alarm. Sometimes it happens, that I cannot Clear or Delete this Alarm. When clicking on the alarm in the server properties (picture 01), no alarms are shown (picture 02). Cisco routes listed incorrectly
Hi, I am new to OpUtils and I am using OpUtils 4 professional version. When I attempt to use the ip routes tools to determine routes on a 6509 switch/router and it seems the columns values are in the wrong place. When I run the tool the destination network appears under protocol, under destination are the known by interface ip address, and the next hop list an interger value of 11 for all listed destinations rather then an ip address or hops #. The routes on my router are fine. How can I correct
VMware monitoring shows no VMs in the dashboard, why??
Hello, I'm evaluating OpManager. I just now turned on VMware ESX 3.5 SNMP and started monitoring our ESX server. Several things: 1. CPU utilization is being measured too high, why?? It's at 88% or so and VIC doesn't show it as being this high. 2. The host's VMs are not showing in the Dashboard, why?? How do I deal with #1 and #2?? Thank you, Tom P.S. Service monitor in multihomed machine
Hello, in OpManager build 6015, I defined and added SIP server Service Monitor on port 5060. Machine which I want to monitor has several network interfaces with IP addresses in different subnets. I noticed that OpManager sends packet for monitoring service only to the 1st interface. The service I'd like to monitor is bound on the 2nd interface's IP address but OpManager never contacts it. Could it be configured to either fire monitor packet towards all interfaces, or on the specified interface? Thank

snmp monitors fails
Ever since we started using OM 7200, currently on 7202, we see a strange problem with custom snmp monitors. When I add a new custom snmp monitor, either single or bulk, minutes after the monitor is added to the system, ALL snmp based monitors start failing. For the record, without custom snmp monitors, all default snmp monitors run without a problem, once a custom snmp monitor is enabled, they all stop. Removing the custom snmp monitor results in default snmp based monitors to work again. I opened

Hi all 1st post :) We have a few HP switches in our environment. I have added them into OpManager and all is well. My problem is, if I put a port into "Disable" status, I want OpManager to reflect this, and NOT to state that the switchport is "Down". Right now it is not reflecting this state. I'm looking for a device template for storage devices, specifically San's. Vendor IBM, Dell or HP. I can't create one because there is no category for storage devices. Can I create a category? Is there a recent update for the resident device templates with OpManager? Thanks

HI Everyone Trying to get OpManager to recognise a Rebadged Lexmark Printer which is used by Dell 1700 series. Comes up when I try and add a new device as the ODI already being used by the Lexmark device. Changing body of Clear Message
Hi Apologies if this has been covered a lot but did a search and couldn't see it on the forums I can change the content of the message body in an alarm message by using the variables supplied and free text - which is great What I want to know is can I change the message body of the Clear message At present its "Data Files Size is now back to normal, valuses..." I would like to edit this to a simpler message which more matches the set alarms messages. Is this possible?

Switch Port Mapper - Multiple Server/Router IPs?
I have both PCs and IP phones plugged into the switches. However, resolution comes from 2 sources/VLANs (VLANx/10.x.x.x for PCs & VLANxx/192.x.x.x for IP phones). Plugging each server/router IP into the field allows for the devices (PC or phones) associated with that subnet to propagate the IP/DNS. I'd like to see ALL the port info for both subnets in a single window. Is there a delimiter that can be used to give both server/router IPs simultaneously or another method to accomplish this?
Misconfigured devices, errors etc.
Hi all, I was wondering if there is a way to get Opmanager to report on devices that does not have SNMP set up properly, for example the community string is wrong, or the device does not allow SNMP access from opmanager. Opmanager should not report the actual problem, just that there is one. Also if WMI is not accessible due to logon failures etc. If there are 100s of devices, you sometimes find yourself needing interface graphs, disk usage etc. but the device has some config problem that you did
Problems to start up the program
Hi there! We are trying to start up the OpManager v6 and a message appears telling us that "some of the tables are corrupted. repairDB and then ReInitialize the program". Our problem is that this is not working anyways. The Repair script is not fixing anything... And to be honest, I don�t wanna restore the DB because we haven�t made a backup since months... :( So, Could you please give me another solution?? And do u know why is this happening? Event Log Rules
We had created a new Event Log rule (for the Application Log) with just Event Type = Error checked off, and Alert with Severity = Critical. This was almost the same as the predefined "Any Application Failure" which has Event Type = Error and Warning checked off. The new event log rule seemed to be working, but now it is not, and we cannot figure out why. We're getting plenty of Application log events logged with type Error, and users that have the "Any Application Failure" rule in their notification

SNMPTrap sent from object/devices not registered
I'm sure that if devices IP is not added to OpManager any snmptrap receives will not appear under alarm tab. But is there a way for us to check if this is happening? Might be inside the log files? I need to know IP address sending trap to OpManager but is not registered as monitored devices.
OpManager 7 Traffic graphs show NA
HI, I have been trialing OpManager 7 for a few weeks and I have been very impressed up untill the today. All of my traffic graphs are showing NA when I look the snapshot (Router Infrastructure Snapshot) If I drill down into the grap by selecting the interface I can see the traffic (so the graph is still woking).
