Convert SNMP response as string to integer
Hi I want to configure a custom monitor for one of my devices and then configure a threshold for it. The problem is that the response from the device for the OID is a straing value and not a numeric. Is there a way to configure a custom monitor and convert the string value to an integer value so that I can configure the threshold? I have tried to setup the monitor with Add Bulk Monitor and configure it as a numeric, but it does not work. If I do a test monitor, I can see the value, but the monitor

Hi, I have downloaded a 30 days trial version for Ops Manager. When I tried to click on the create new business view, it shows a cross gif on the browser. The browser which I am using is IE8. Please kindly advice.
Cisco WISM (wireless) not showing up in OpManager
We have 3 Cisco WISM blades, each having 2 IP addresses. When we discover them, the first one we discover shows up correctly in the OpManager system, and the other 5 add without errors, but they do not show up. What should we be looking for when they are added? They do not show up as unknown or as anything else. They all have the same credentials. Thanks, Jeremy

List view for CPU's with multiple processors.
We are running build 8724. I have noticed the list view for our servers indicates showing 1-97 of 07 servers. They are not all displayed. I have to click the name column to get a reverse sort to see the last ones. I have tried to change the number shown but the last ones never are displayed. It appears that this may be associated with the multiple listings for CPU's that have multiple CPU's. Will this be fixed with the fix for the multiple listing problem?
Login as admin from user machine
Today I have started seeing a problem with loging in from my desktop machine. I enter the user name (admin) and the proper password. OpManager responds with "Please enter the user name". I can log in from the server. After a restart of the server I was able to log in, then the same thing happened latter. Please advise. Note we are waiting on a 5 user license. Convert values integer OID.
Hello I'm using the OP to monitor temperature and humidity of my data center through a monitor of Comet System: http://www.cometsystem.cz/english/humidity-transmitter-Ethernet.htm. I imported the MIB, I created the device, read the OID value through specific, but the value is an integer and must be converted to decimal value. Example: The read value is 213, which means 21.3. How to make this conversion? You can generate a graph of variation with the decimal values? Does anyone have any experience
snmp not working on some servers
I have 8 Proliant servers and only 3 are able to get cpu and memory and disk stats. I have snmp enabed on the server. I have tried the mib browser which I don't understand hopw to configure to test. Why do 3 servers work fine with opmanager? Second question is I got the web client to work with one host running opmanager, then I moved the opmanager to another server and I can't get it to run. What is the procedure to get this to run.
WMI Problem in opmanager
Hi Team We are working on a customer site and we face this strange problem. We are using WMI on most of the systems and we use the WMITEST.exe file for testing the WMI working or not. Where to look when device says imported successfully but is nowhere to be found?
Imports of a device succeed but do not show up anywhere as a device on the infrastructure snapshot. Ideas? Which log file should I look at for the error?
Availability report for longer than a month

OpManager, OpStor, AppManager installed on same server

Turn off up/down notifications on switchports
I can't seem how tell OpManager NOT to make a big fuss out of switchports going up and down on my access switches. It's not getting these notifications through traps so can someone tell me how to stop this behavior? It creates an alarm with a "Critical" status.
Solaris and zfs ?
Hi all, I am using OpManager (free edition) to monitor a couple OpenSolaris servers. When monitoring disk resources, OpManager only monitors UFS file systems completely ignoring ZFS. OpManager is version 8 (build 8721). Is this a known bug/limitation? Thank you in advance. Bye Cris
When complete to move the Opmanager DE central server other server happen error
Hi, I have done that move central server to a new windows server. I create a new probe server, install probe server,but the probe server cannot start. The error message in the wrapper.log is: Central build number 7501 is not compatible with Probe build number 7500. Hence shutting down the probe. How to solve the problem? Can you set mib variables with the mib browser under opmanager admin?
All I see are get/get next/table/clear and what not buttons, but there are no set buttons or a place to set a mib variable. Thanks paul
How to resolve SQL Cache Memory alerts
I am running SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard (x64) on a Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise x64 Virtual Machine (vmware ESX 4.1). I have given the VM 8GB of RAM and 4 vCPUs. I am constantly getting the SQL Cache Memory alerts saying that my threshold has been surpassed. I've done researc on the Internet but could not find how to resolve this. SNMP get for Counter32
All, I try to monitor CIFS connected users to the storage. There is exists the following counter: C:\Temp>Snmputil.exe get storage public .1.3.6.1.4.1.789.1.7.2.9.0 Variable = .iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.789.1.7.2.9.0 Value = Counter32 122 When I added this oid into template and applied template to the storage device, OpManager can't get this value. I see strange values like '0', '1' or very big. But the current value should be approx 100. I tried to add this counter as '.1.3.6.1.4.1.789.1.7.2.9.0'
MAC OS X and SNMP
Is anyone out there using OpManager to monitor a MAC OSX server? I was able to get it conencted via SNMP using Net-snmp as the Vendor, Catagory Server and Type is Linux and the server does show up with the Blue Star but I cannot get any info out of it. Domain Controller as virtual device
Hello, Running 8720. We have a number of 2003 Domain Controllers that are virtual machines and I am unable to change their Category from "Virtual Devices" to "Domain Controller" as the option is not available. Please see attached. Thanks.
device template list does not show all devices
Unable to view all device templates, eg when clicking on C to search for “Cisco Catalyst 3650” the list stops at “Cisco Aitonet1242AG”. The page size is set to 500 and claims to be showing 1 to 233 items (see attached image) but the list contains only 100 items.
Multiple entrys of same servers in Business View - List
Hi, we've got some problems with displaying one of our business view lists. Some of our servers are displayed more than one time - and every entry is set with another status. Any idea whats the probleme?
Remove all Sql Monitors?
I have a server for which I am unable to get any Sql Monitors to collect data. They all report "No Data." I would like to remove all Monitors, and re-add them. Is there an easy way to do this?
Response Time
Hi, Whenever I ping from OpManager server to any node, first ping response is always 11~15ms. And same is reflecting in OpManager response time. Is there any way that Opmanager will consider the 2nd or 3rd value of ping response so that same value can be reflect in response time? Regards Nilesh
VMWare Host Icon?
Ok so one of my ESX hosts has a yellow exclaimation icon but there are no alerts or anything pointing out what exactly the problem is. Has anyone experienced this and what did you do about it? 2nd question simply revolves around VSphere 4 and distributed vswitches. Can opManager monitor the distributed switches or just the local switches? Is it something that is going to be coming down the line? My distributed switches are pretty important in my infrastructure. upgrade problem network views lost
We have upgraded opmanager from build 8030 to SP7 8720 and hotfix 8721. After the upgrade the map -> network view -> are lost. Only this text is there: No Network has been added. We have tried to rediscover a network but it is not added to the network view. How can we fix this

Network map with Extreme and Juniper
Hi, I installed the latest OPM 8721 for a customer. He has Extreme switches and Cisco Access Point. Is it possible to discover the network topology as the software can do with Cisco? I added an Extreme and one Cisco AP I am sure is connected to the same switch. When I try to configure the Network map it shows an error. Select a greyed out Custom event
In the past I have added a custom event in OP manager. After a while there was no need for this monitoring anymore so I deleted this event in the events screen. Time goes by and now I need to monitor this events again. I see the Event log in my screen but when I select it I get the message "Eventlog file already exists". How can I get this eventlog monitored again? I've added some screenshots
User credentials for local connections
Hi all, I have some windows-devices in my OPManager. I have a special Domain-Admin account that is used for WMI-scanning suing a special Windows credential. When I assign the credentials to a windows server and test it, I get the following erroro message: 80041064 - User credentials cannot be used for local connections. Refer Troubleshooting Tips The Troubleshooting tips state that I want to use the credentials to connect to the server on which OPManager is running. This is definitly NOT the case.
Problem with Opmanager 8052
Hi. I have installed OpManager 8052, premium edition running on a PC with a processor with 2 cores, 4 GB of RAM and Windows 2008 R2 Standard. Scheduled Reports based on Timeframe
Hi, Is there a way to generate scheduled reports (with accompanying automated mailout) that concatenate data based on a specific timeframe? for example - we wish to have a weekly report of server uptime, router uptime, alerts, etc over that 7 day period - but only those that occurred between the hours of 8am and 9pm in that seven day period.
