OPMANAGER - Device already present in the System
Hi, I'm facing a problem when I try to re-add a monitor that I deleted. I'm using the OpManager Build 8720 and when I try to add it again I receive from the OpManager the following error: "Device already present in the System" How can I fix this problem and add the monitor again? WMI not an option on Central
Hi, We are in the process of defining the device templates for our servers. When we want use wmi to add counters not default in OpManager, we do not get the option to use WMI when on the Central node. On the probes on the other hand, this is an option. What can we do to enable wmi for monitoring on the Central server too? Regards Svein

Hello, in past versions i created a trap parsers in conf/trap.parsers to make a critical/clear standard bgp traps to act as desired ( one alarm generate when bgp went down and clear that alarm once the bgp got to established state ). i want to test opmanager 8 and have the following issues: - installed the 8.720 version - updated to 8.800 and applied the latest patch ( 8812 ). after upgrading all trap processor went wrong ( in admin / trap processor all processors couldn't be used - got only the
opmanager url is not working
Hello, i have Installed opmanager in a VM of windows server the sever in which we installed opmanager..we are able to open the opmanager through internet explorer but when we are trying to open opmanager through internet explorer from desktops,the opmanager is not opening but if we ping to that particular ip which is assigned to opmanager then reply is comming, but if we enter the ip address or domain name in the internet explorer the opmanager is not opening please help.

MIB File rename script
Let me kick off by sharing a solution ;-) I have created a windows vbs script to help you rename the MIB files to the names given in the MIB itself. I noticed most vendors distribute MIB's but have the strange habbit to rename the files. This script will fix this problem. URL not working correctly on internal servers
Setting up a url monitor on a internal server we get the following error message The URL http://asot-sql3 is down, Reason : Host Unavailable even tho the webpage does actually work ok and you can search information.
P to V conversion
We're performing a P to V to add guests to our VMWare infr and we're noticing the devices are not being showing up under the Virtual Device category after the process is complete. We've tried to update status, rediscover, remove and discover again and they still show as non-virtual devices. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
QNAP Devices.
Hi there, got a few QNAP devices (www.QNAP.com) to monitor and though the test service monitor gives a response and a value, the CPU and Memory graphs do not show up: I have added a custom template, added the QNAP MIB (Please see attached file), no joy. Also, you do not have the Vendor/Type of QNAP (NAS) by default? Any ideas? Thanks! Adrian.
Updating Clients IP Addresses
Hi everyone, We are running Opmanager build no 8812. I noticed the Desktops clients that are being monitored do not get their IP Address updated when that changes. We have a DHCP running in our network( other than the server running OpManager) Server running OpManager solves corectlly the names and nslookup looks correct and accurate, but OpManager does not get updated. Issue Using Perl for Windows and Custom Script Templates
I have an issue where I have OpManager installed on a Windows 2003 server and am trying to use Perl to write a custom script template. The issue I have is that whenever I try to use a "foreach" loop, the script just hangs and eventually times out. The script runs fine when ran manually. It only fails when ran through OpManager. Has anyone else seen this issue? If so, did you get it resolved? Thanks!

Alarms are reported to the server when the event happens, but the detail shows one hour later. example: Event occurs at 15:00, are displayed on the monitor without problems, but in the mail shows that the incident happened at 14:00. Custom Perl script to monitor multiple server's CPU's in a single graph
Hi all. Attached is a simple Perl script I put together to track total CPU usage across multiple different servers and show these values in a single graph. The servers in question are added in the array "@servers", and each of these values is then passed to the function "getSnmpValues", which returns the average total CPU usage across all server cores. I can see my VMWare ESXi 5 hosts in good detail, but if I want to add a monitor under inventory details (ie - I/O usage, etc.) I cannot as I am not given the option to do that...is this by design? Bug? Thanks in advance!

Failed to add a performance monitor for Linux servers
Hello, we use opmanager 9 (build 9100). If I want to add a new Performance Monitor for Linux server I receive the message "Error!". When I add a URL Monitor or a Process Monitor etc. I habe no problems. I can add a Performance Monitor for Windows server. Do you have any idea where the issue with the Linux server could come from? Hello, Using build 8812 of OPman - how can I monitor if multiple instances of a process occur, such as iexplorer.exe - without OPman warning me everytime the 'service is down' becuase the process isn't running? In our Citrix farm we often get CPU spikes. I have configured the thresholds so that if CPU is above 95% for 3 checks (15 minutes intervals) then an alert is sent. WMI Issue with Exchange 2010 Servers
Hello, I'm having a problem with WMI it seems on the Exchange 2010 servers within my domain. I have many file severs set up with WMI monitoring for CPU, disk partitions etc - all working fine. These use a global 'wmiadmin' account which is part of domain admins, & server operators in AD. The credentials test passes (via the passwords part of the servers page in OPMan) yet on the Exchange boxes if I test the WMI say for CPU monitor it fails - The Monitor did not respond to the test request.
CPU Alarms and Multi-CPU Servers
With multi-CPU servers, if CPU utilization goes above our set threshold, we get multiple alarms - one per CPU/core (using the WMI CPU monitor). Is it possible to configure the CPU threshold or alerts to use the total CPU utilization on the server, not one per CPU or core? Thanks, Dan
