remote polling
hello, I want to know if opmanager has the capability to do remote polling. What I mean by this is the capability to have an agent at a remote site that can monitor status for basically being able to determine if a vpn for site to site connectivity is up or down and be able to report to a central opmanager. Something similar to what snmpc does (www.castlerock.com) thank you naynesh

Windows Service Monitoring
I have a question on the Windows Service Monitoring... I did a brief install of OpManager Last night, then reinstalled Windows. I can not remember 100% what the options were under the Windows Service options were for adding a service. I thought the options were for a service name and then port number? Rx and Tx utilization
Hi, 1.If I am going to monitor a server with SNMP enabled and want to see the Rx and Tx utilization. I have them enable by the resource monitors but i have waited for 2 days now and I'm tstill see nothing. What can be the problem?? 2. I have a symantec 320 series firewall but when I look in the device type I see no symantec devices. I that a problem if I let the device type unknown and what is the difference of a indentified device type and a unknown device type for my firewall or any other device??
Questions
Hi I've got a few questions about Opmanager 5.5 1. I can enable SNMP on a server but if I do the same operations with the desktops, Opmanger don't regonize them as SNMP enabled devices. Does Opmanager don't support SNMP on desktops or does something goes wrong? 2. If I make a profile for notifications and I add it to a printer for example then it dissepears after a while if I look at the printer. If I then look at the notification profile section my profile is also gone and I must make a new one.
availability report of a business view
I want to create an availability report of small group of all my servers. I grouped them in a business view. can this be done?
IBM xServers 220 and 225
We have multiple IBM xServers 220 and 225 that are not displaying CPU, MEM, Disk Utilization most of these are running Windows 2003 and 2000. On the same type machines that are running 2000 terminal server all utilization seems to be working. Any ideas.

system resources
I am evaluating this package but cannot use it because after several hours it takes up all of my system resources. I'm evaluating this on a 2.4G P4 with 512Mb of memory and WXP Pro. This is my desktop machine so e-mail IM and other apps are running. Task Manager shows 3 instances of Java running in which 1 is 100+ MB at all times. Is there an issue running the server and client on the same machine??
Lengthen Time Out ping time in monitoring
I've asked this question before, and i don't think op manager yet does this, but i was wondering if it might in the near future. The problem is we monitor several WAN links over ISDN, and under heavy traffic replys to pings sometimes take 5000ms or more. I've noticed opmanager will time out after about 1500ms, and mark the device as down, leaving us with several false alerts being sent out. Is there a way to increase the time out opmanager uses to ping devices?

Hello, im Patrick, an it. Lately, we decided to try OpManage and it work fine up to now. but, i have an issue. I would like to monitor lotus domino 6 with snmp but it seems, i can't get any readable value from the lotus monitor. i did follow the steps to install and start the lotus snmp service. i am just unable to get it work with opManage. any idea on how i could fix it Thanks

Hello together, i am evaluating OPManager and i wonder how i can monitor Deadlocks (and other parameters related to an SQL Instanze). The node i try to monitor (and trigger an email) is a 4 CPU active/passive Cluster with 4 SQL Instances installed (running each on seperate IP). web interface customization
hello, I am trying to understand if there is a way to be able to customize logo's and look & feel of the web interface. We are possibily looking at extending access to this app for our managed service clients and if so would like them to have a common look and feel for our intranet...is that possible? on a side note, how does one remove the initial information on the login screen for the admin name and admin password data? thanks Naynesh

UDP multicast 45564
I noticed alot of multicast traffic coming from my opmanager serveron udp 45564 from java.exe I assume this is normal behaviour for opmanager? Is there a unicast option?

Hello, We need the ability to report on devices within a particular business view. Right now all I see is the ability to report on all devices. I hear there is a release coming that will address this, when will this occur? exchange 2003 monitoring
I noticed a pre-defined service for exchange - I have been able to find one box with exchange on port 161 (this is on a w2k server) but it does not find it on another box that is running on w2k3. 1) Can anyone plz let me know how to skip the password, For some machines in my network the login name is "administrator" and password is blank. So please let me know how to scan those machines for inventory. 2) How to configure opmanager to scan the workgroup automatically for the inventory?? False Service Down Alarms
Hi, This program is quite impressive !!! I am using the evaluation right now... could any one help me out with my problem... I have windows 2000 Servers with SNMP protocol installed on them.... In Service monitor I am monitoring DNS & LDAP and boths are showing up while in windows monitoring when i put DNS it always shows the service as down... Hi All, I would like to change in: Resource Monitors > Monitor Type - change from SNMP to WMI form all my MS Windows Systems. I tried the Quick Configuration Wizard but if the old SNMP Monitors exist already then I cannot change it to WMI.
LOST PASSWORD
Guys- I am using the OPManager 5.0 in my environment, and I lost the OP Manager password. Is there any way to recover admin password? I have only one user license. OPManager is using the default database (MSDE). I cannot uninstall OP Manager, because of some administrative issues. I know the default admin password is admin, but I changed it to something else, and now I want to reset it. Is there anyway to accomplish this task? Is there anyway to recover the default password?
